Into the Depths: Exploring the Mystical Phong Nha Cave
#earthdayjourney #cave #naturalwonders #phongnha
Climbing into Phong Nha Cave was like stepping into the heart of the Earth itself. As I ventured deeper into the cave, the air grew cooler, and the world outside faded away. The stalactites and stalagmites, sculpted by time and water, towered above me in an otherworldly dance of shapes and shadows. The cave's vast chambers felt almost alive, their silence speaking volumes.
The underground river, flowing smoothly through the cave, added a mystical touch to this ancient wonder. Each twist and turn revealed hidden wonders, natural sculptures formed over millions of years, some so intricate it felt as if nature itself had been painting with the slow stroke of time. It was an experience that made me feel small yet deeply connected to the ancient forces of the Earth.

#favouriteitinerary This incredible national park is a few hours south of Hanoi. It might be green and glorious but there’s an underworld of limestone caves and underground rivers churning beneath your feet. You can only visit it during a two-week expedition with a team of porters but that’s fine because there are plenty of others you can see on a day trip. I’ve never in my life seen such weird and wonderful natural shapes and formations as I did during my time in Phong Nha!
What’s so amazing about Phong Nha is that much of it is relatively undiscovered. Swimming in a cave opened to the public less than two years ago was undoubtedly one of the best things I did in Southeast Asia. If you’re looking for a time to visit Phong Nha, it’s definitely sooner rather than later.

Son Doong Cave
#vietnamtrip Son Doong Cave, located in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Vietnam, is an awe-inspiring natural wonder and the world's largest cave by volume. Inside, you'll find unique ecosystems, including lush jungle landscapes, fast-flowing rivers, and towering stalagmites and stalactites. The cave's sheer scale and unspoiled beauty offer a surreal experience, making it a must-visit for adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.
Exploring Son Doong Cave is a challenging adventure due to its remote location, demanding terrain, and technical requirements. The journey involves multi-day hikes through dense jungle, river crossings, and steep climbs, all requiring a good level of fitness and stamina. Inside the cave, adventurers face harsh conditions such as high humidity, slippery surfaces, and temperature variations. Access is limited to guided tours with experienced caving experts, and the cave's isolation means that medical facilities and emergency services are far away, adding to the risks involved.
Overall, Son Doong is a breathtaking and humbling destination that showcases the incredible power and beauty of nature, a MUST visit once in a life time place ☺️☺️☺️☺️

Phong Nha cave Vietnam 🇻🇳
#traveldiaries
Phong Nha Cave is the most popular attractions in the national park. Both of these are enjoyable, straightforward half-day tours, easily booked via your hotel. The entry to Phong Nha Cave features a journey along the river, while in Paradise Cave, a series of wooden walkways lets you explore safely.
It is 7,729 metres long and contains 14 grottoes, as well as a 13,969 metre underground river. While scientists have surveyed 44.5 kilometres of passages, tourists are only allowed to explore the first 1500 metres.

Phong Nha x Da Nang
Central Vietnam is amazing. It comprises of different natures, and not limited to beaches and caves, but also night markets, cultural village, and even old town. It is a perfect place to enjoy all tourist attractions at one place. Phong Nha is definitely an underrated tourist destination that not many foreigners know about but it has the largest cave in the world which is surprising more beautiful than any other caves I visited. You should check it out.
In 2024, I have planned a trip to Phuket and at the same time, I wish I can visit more underrated tourist destination like Laos, Cambodia, and small” islands in the Philippines. #2024wish

1. Paradise Cave, Quang Binh, Vietnam

Son Doong Cave - the largest cave in the world
Son Doong is considered to be the largest cave in the world, based on volume and also the biggest cave in Vietnam, found by Ho Khanh – a Phong Nha jungle man in 1990. In 2009, Hang Son Doong was officially surveyed and measured by the The British -Vietnam Cave Expedition Team led by Howard Limbert. The Expedition team then announced it as the world's largest natural cave with a volume of 38.5 million m3
To explore, you book it in Oxalis website - Oxalis is the exclusively company provide the expedition. The scene is one of the most amazing things Ive seen in life. $3000 is not a small amount but the trip is far more than that. Oxalis service is also perfect.
You will never regret it!

Son Doong is the largest cave in the world. It is located in Central Vietnam, in the heart of the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. It was discovered by accident in 1990 and was only explored by the British Cave Research Association in 2009. It opened up to visitors in 2013. The cave has a total length of 9 kilometres / 5.5 miles and has the largest cross-section of any cave anywhere on the planet. At its largest, the cave is more than 200 meters / 650 feet tall, and 150 meters / 500 feet wide. It comprises around 150 individual caves, a dense subterranean jungle and several underground rivers, hence the name “Mountain River Cave”.
