From Dunes to Dreamy Nights: My ultimate Wadi Rum Adventure!
Ever wanted to feel like you are living on another planet for a day? Welcome to Wadi Rum, aka Mars on Earth! I just spend an awesome day exploring this epic desert, and to top it all off - I slept in a bubble hotel! Let me tell you how it went down! #adventure #adventureawaits
The minute you step into Wadi Rum, it’s like you have teleported to some sci-fi movie set. Red sand stretching forever, massive rock formations popping up like alien skyscrapers - it’s just unreal! I kicked off the dat with a 4x4 tour, zipping across dunes, spotting ancient cravings and scaling some crazy rock bridges #desertadventure I recommend starting your day early to avoid the midday heat (especially in summer).
After all that desert adventuring, you are going to work up an appetite, and lunch in Wadi Rum is an experience in itself! Many guided tours offer a traditional Beduin lunch, usually served under a shaded tent or at a scenic spot in the desert. We tried local dishes like Zarb, falafel and tabbouleh! #deliciousfood #localfood
We finish our adventure watching the sunset from the desert! #sunset As the sun dips lower in the sky, the entire landscape transforms with vibrant shades of gold and orange spreading across the sand dunes and rock formations.
Now, the best part of the day - sleeping in a bubble. We stayed at the Hotel Rum Titanic which was an unforgettable experience, offering both privacy and unparalleled connection to nature. The bubble provides all the comfort of a hotel room but the best past was the stargazing! As night fell and the desert cooled down, I could simply lie back and watch the star appear, one by one, filling the sky in every direction. It felt like being in an observatory, but with the added magic of the desert breeze and complete tranquility.
Recommendations:
- Book in advance: the 4x4 tours are incredibly popular, especially during the high season. To ensure you get the best tour, I recommend to book it in advance.
- Lunch: Many tours include a traditional Bedouin lunch as well, which is great way to experience the culture.
-Stay hydrated and sun-protected: Wadi Rum can get very hot, so pack plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat.
-Dress modestly: while it’s a very popular tourist spot, it’s still a rural area and traditional Bedouin culture. It’s respectful to dress modestly when you are not in the hotel.
-Don’t miss the sunset or sunrise: I highly recommend you the Lawrence’s Spring area and Jebel Umm Adami viewpoints for sunset or sunrise.
