Chocolate Master
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
The museum is open from Monday to Saturday, but the opening hours are limited. The tour is free with either a Spanish or English guide, depending on the time you choose. The guide will give information about where the cocoa comes from and how it is collected, as there are many families making chocolate in Villajoyosa, and how the product is processed before it reaches the consumer and tell the history of the factory, and a film will be shown during the tour, all of which is very educational. After the tour, we were able to enjoy dessert in the shop inside the chocolate factory. You can buy these desserts in stores.

It is essential to understand the traditions and history of Villajoyosa.

The excellent and interesting museums have exhibitions that tell a lot about the history of this place. The museum has three very interesting sections. One of them is the Roman shipwreck Bou Ferrer (with a very good introductory recording). Another area is the archaeological section, taking you through history. The last area is dedicated to the Moors and Christians festival (with another interesting recording). Additionally, you can visit the archaeological laboratory, highlighting the friendliness of the museum staff.

Beautiful beaches and beautiful historic villages combine history and tradition.

The historic center, with its colorful houses and picturesque alleys, is a real open-air museum.
Perfect white sand, clear water and palm trees providing pleasant shade. There is a great playground for kids next to the palm trees. You can reserve sun loungers and parasols if you wish, but it came to 18 euros for two sun loungers and a parasol which we thought was pretty expensive. Or you can just lie on a beach towel under a palm tree or take a folding beach chair with you. The water is calm and clear enough to see fish, and the temperature is warm and comfortable. Overall, it's a great place for a relaxing vacation!

Villajoyosa's seafaring tradition grows stronger every year, with the Moors arriving by sea in late July to fight the Christians.

From Villajoyosa (La Villajoyosa), the capital of the region of Marina de Baixa (also called “La Villa”), we can see the peaks of the Sierra Aitana and Sierra Puig Campana, a natural barrier that protects the region from the north winds, giving it pleasant temperatures all year round.
This walled historic district borders the Amadorio River and features a beautiful shoreline lined with colorful houses designed so that sailors could see them from their ships. The Parish Church of Our Lady of Asuncion is a Gothic building that preserves interesting Baroque frescoes. In the afternoon, a visit to the port will provide an opportunity to experience a lively auction of fish and seafood caught during the day. La Villa has three and a half kilometers of beaches such as Centro, Paradís and especially De Torres, with clear waters, where we can also find the archaeological remains of the Tower of the Cross and the Tower of St. Joseph, the latter popularly known as the Tower of Hercules.
Villajoyosa is famous for its long history of chocolate industry. Local factories are happy to open their doors to visitors to the city.

Alicant, a Spanish tourist destination
Alicante is a great place to relax in the summer. Surfing, surfing, diving, and strolling along the beach are all fun, and street food is everywhere in the alleys.
