Traveling in Europe will make you fall in love with Vienna
#2024Travel Review
During this journey, Vienna was actually the city I least expected, but it unexpectedly became my favorite place. This city is like a moving painting, every street and every building contains an immersive charm. Not only a city of music, Vienna also has a fascinating culture of art and architecture.
Strolling through the Old Town, you will be shocked by the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral. If you have a special liking for Baroque architecture, don't miss Schönbrunn Palace. This palace, listed as a World Heritage Site, has grand gardens and splendid interior decorations that will definitely leave you with your mouth hanging open all the way through.
Friends who like to visit art museums, when you come to Vienna, in addition to the must-visit Hundertwasserhaus, you can also go all the way to the MuseumsQuartier, which is full of art. There are many wonderful exhibition halls here, from the Natural History Museum to the Vienna Museum to the Leopold Museum. Every one of them is fascinating and worth spending a day. Savor it all day long. Especially if you love Secession Art (Secession Movement) and the works of Egon Schiele, then the Leopoldo Museum is definitely a must-see. There is a large collection of Schiele's classic paintings, and the delicate and emotional brushwork is guaranteed to leave you hooked. Whether you are appreciating the original works of art masters or immersing yourself in the strong artistic atmosphere, this trip is worth the price of admission!
One of my favorite parts of this trip was to visit the #Hundertwasser apartment and the #Vienna Art House (Kunst Haus Wien). Baishui Apartment is a colorful public residence. Its exterior walls are mainly designed with irregular curves. A large number of natural elements are incorporated into the building. The balconies and roofs are covered with trees, flowers and plants, which perfectly demonstrates the humanistic philosophy advocated by Mr. Baishui. The concept of living in harmony with nature. Not far from the Hundertwasser Apartment, the #ViennaArtHouse not only houses Mr. Hundertwasser's paintings and design manuscripts, but the building itself is as stunning as a work of art, making every corner worthy of careful appreciation. After watching the exhibition, I especially like to sit down in the courtyard on the first floor, order a cup of rich and fragrant Viennese coffee, and feel the unique artistic atmosphere of this city.
If you like modern architecture, then be sure to put #ViennaUniversity of Economics Library and Learning Center on your itinerary! This landmark building designed by Zaha Hadid is one of the masterpieces of modern architecture in Vienna. The exterior looks like a huge cubic structure, and the overhanging design creates a strong visual focus that is very attractive. The interior of the building is famous for its smooth curves and open space design, which is really spectacular!
After visiting here, don’t rush to end the day, there are more places worth exploring around! Neighboring buildings also have unique design styles. Walking on campus feels like entering a feast of architectural art. Afterwards, you can stroll to Prater Park not far away and feel the leisurely atmosphere of Vienna. The park has vast green spaces perfect for walking and relaxing. Next, you can go to the nearby Prater amusement park (Wurstelprater) to challenge several exciting rides and release your stress. When you’re tired, don’t forget to taste the delicacies in this area, especially Schweizerhaus’s signature extra-large fried pig’s feet, paired with a glass of cold beer, it’s definitely the perfect reward for your taste buds. Finally, take a ride on the Vienna Ferris Wheel (Riesenrad) to overlook the bright night view of the entire city at nightfall, which is a perfect end to the day's journey.
Overall, Vienna is a city that perfectly combines classicism and modernity. This kind of itinerary combines architecture, nature, entertainment and food, which is both fulfilling and satisfying, and leaves people with endless aftertaste! Really recommend to everyone
