Visit the Horn of the Meadow in Zermatt
📍Zermatt
Matterhorn, which means 'Horn of the Meadow'.
It's the model on the Toblerone chocolate🍫 packaging, right? 😆
🚊 From Interlaken to Zermatt
Interlaken East Station - Spiez Station - Visp Station - Zermatt Station
Takes about 2 hours
🚉 From Zermatt to Gornergrat
Mountain train costs 110 francs (50% discount with Swiss Pass)
Takes about 30 minutes
When you come to Zermatt, visiting the Gornergrat viewpoint is a must! You can see the Matterhorn in a panoramic view.
The view while taking the mountain train up is also spectacular.
However, on days with bad weather, the Matterhorn may be hidden by clouds. Be sure to check the weather‼️
We also had a meal at the cafeteria at the Gornergrat viewpoint, but it wasn't particularly delicious, just enough to fill our stomachs. 🤭
Plateau Rosa + 3480mt ON TOP OF THE ALPS
On top of the mountain
Plateau Rosa - Cervinia is one of the highest view points of the Alps.
The location could be reached by gondola from Cervinia down town, you can reach the top of the mountain both ways with ski or without.
From the cable car arrival terrace (in about 30 mins) you can admire the big four thousands up close, from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc, from Gran Paradiso to Monte Rosa to all the Swiss peaks of the Valais, before “turning back” with an eagle’s eye view (and you can actually see eagles from here!) in Italy to look at the unmistakable shape of Monviso, in Piedmont Once in Plateau Rosà, just a stone’s throw from the arrival station of the cable car (with the Shelter of the Guides where you can stop), it is also possible to reach the Grotta di Ghiaccio on foot (cable-car arrival point Small Matterhorn 3882 m).
A “compass rose” on the terrace indicates the most important mountains of the Aosta Valley and the canton of Valais (Switzerland).
With 3,899 m, it has the highest slope/ski slope or the highest ski lift/lift on the Matterhorn (Monte Cervino).
Cervinia Plateau Rose is simply one of the best spot of Alps.
When you are at 3500m of altitude and are lucky to get a sunny day, you can really touch heaven with your fingers!
Take a breath and enjoy such natural wonders!!!
All info about the cable car timetable and price are on the website Cervino Ski Paradise.

Matterhorn Switzerland 🇨🇭
#fallingseason
Matterhorn is one of the majestic presence , full of rich history and a beautiful nature place ! When I first visited Switzerland, Zermatt is the first place that I visited as I would like to see the iconic-pyramid-shapes mountain. Before going, I saw lots of people using the pyramid chocolate to match the mountain, now finally I am able to do it!
Moreover, I have been taken lots of picture about the mountains and river in there as well. Love it !

La Bricole - Corner of Aosta Valley
Delicious place on the mountain 🏔️
Completely fall in love this is lovely “baita” in Aosta Valley - Italy
Excellent food and very friendly staff
The location is just amazing in the middle of the ski slope area, better place to refresh at lunch time after your ski day in Cervinia.
You can taste local food here specially the local meats and the tasty local wine.
To me the best steak house in the village.
It is like a little peace of paradise in the middle of the mountain.
The price as the medium of the area.
They have a nice patio terrace to enjoy lunch outside. We had lunch inside and the typical wood design makes everything so romantic.
I suggest to try the local steak.
You can reach this place from the slope directly from the line with your ski or by walk from the road crossing a 10 meter of the skislope.
Best to make reservation as the place is not very big inside.
Happy and blessed day.
❤️❤️❤️
unique place up in the mountain
The Foyer des Guides restaurant is a restaurant located on the ski slopes, but easily accessible by car. Typical mountain chalet, it combines tradition with modern and functional design elements. The idea of cooking combines in simplicity the flavors of the area and a touch of innovation, using wherever possible natural products at km 0 and organic. A stone cellar with an ancient flavor collects a rich collection of wines (250 regional and national wines).
In my opinion, the best restaurant in the valley, for the overall experience.
Excellent food and wine, excellent location and very good service.
The price is just the right one. You pay for what you get.
If you need some help for trekking, ski, alpinism or just for a ramble, just ask to Sabrina and Walter.
Very good features for your children as well, both indoor and outdoor (in summer time).
Staff very nice, they brough always some chips, peanuts together with beer. Interior is awesome, don't miss to visit wine cellar.
Opened for dinner during the weekends and holiday, the lodge displays its dining area with the stories of the Matterhorn Mountain Guide’s great tasks. Here beauty and taste live under the same roof: the dishes incorporate organic and genuine Aosta Valley flavors, and furthermore, their well-diversified wine and cheese cellar offer extraordinary delicacies. In addition, the lodge frequently hosts themed dinner parties, specific menus in celebration with various festivities, and live music.
Ice Water Falls
Cervinia is surrounded by lakes, rivers and waterfalls that are rooted in glaciers.
Ice Waterfalls
The thrill of scaling the walls of glass, often real works of art in nature.
Sensitivity, precision, lightness, strength, all the qualities needed to be applied to ice climbing in Valle d'Aosta
Along the slope from Valtournenche to Cervinia You drive past a very particular natural phenomenon.
In winter, when everything freezes, wonderful ice-waterfalls arise on this mountain. They are particular, because in summer water flows rarely at this point.
Nice location for a quick pick nick with amazing view
There is a little church near by used from people.
By the way you need a trekking shoes. Won’t be suggested for children
Really suggestive atmosphere

The most beautiful peak in Europe, the king of the Alps.
Everyone has a supreme mountain in their hearts to look up to. For Chinese people, it may be the majestic and sacred Mount Everest; for Japanese people, it may be the elegant and mysterious Mount Fuji. But in the hearts of many Europeans, the "sacred mountain" is the king of the Alps - the Matterhorn.
Switzerland is a veritable "mountain kingdom". The Alps, known as the "backbone of Europe", account for about 60% of its land area. There are 48 peaks over 4,000 meters above sea level and more than 3,350 peaks over 2,000 meters above sea level. The Matterhorn, at an altitude of 4,478 meters, is not the highest, but its pyramid-shaped mountain body stands alone in the sky, piercing the sky, overlooking the peaks, and is recognized by Europeans as the "king of the Alps". It attracts countless tourists every day to witness its style.
If you want to experience the Matterhorn, you must come to Zermatt in the Valais region of southwestern Switzerland. This hidden mountain city is hidden in the hinterland of the Alps, located at the foot of the Matterhorn, surrounded by mountains, and for environmental reasons, the city is closed to oil cars all year round.
Zermatt, known as the "City of Glaciers", is small but a famous tourist destination in Switzerland. It is famous for the Matterhorn and is also a world-class ski resort and mountaineering and hiking paradise. The town in the mountain nest is distributed with houses, hotels, restaurants and various shops. Walking on the street, most of them are professional climbers, tour groups and backpackers who come here for their reputation. In winter, there are many skiers, making the original quiet town full of hustle and bustle.
Walking in Zermatt, you can see the magnificent snow mountain scenery when you look up, especially the majestic Matterhorn is like a guard guarding this hidden secret. Coming to Zermatt, if you want to watch the best Matterhorn heroism up close, you must go to the top viewing platform. The recommended way to climb the mountain is to take the local "Gornergrat" cogwheel mountain train (Gornergrat Bahn). This is the first electric cogwheel train in Switzerland. It officially operated in 1898 and has a history of over 100 years.
Take the train up the mountain, the Matterhorn is all the way, all the way amazing! This time we chose to get off at Rotenboden Station, and then walk 15 minutes from the station to Riffelsee. You can enjoy the beautiful reflection of the Matterhorn by the lake, and the photos are super out.
Then take the train from Rotenboden Station to the Gornergrat viewing platform at an altitude of 3089 meters. This is the best place to see the Matterhorn. You can almost look at the Matterhorn. Standing here, you can see the beautiful scenery of 29 peaks over 4,000 meters above sea level, including the Matterhorn, which is breathtaking.
When going down the mountain, we chose to get off at Riffelalp Station, walk a few minutes to the restaurant on the hillside for lunch, eat crispy pork while enjoying the Matterhorn close at hand, it is an unforgettable dining experience. After eating and drinking, take the car down the mountain and return to Zermatt.
Mount Cervino
Mount Cervino, also known as the Matterhorn, is one of the most iconic and recognizable mountains in the world. Located in the Pennine Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy, it stands at an elevation of 4,478 meters (14,692 feet). The mountain has a distinctive pyramid shape, making it a popular subject in photography and a famous challenge for climbers. It straddles the border between Switzerland (Canton of Valais) and Italy (Aosta Valley). The first successful ascent was made on July 14, 1865, by a team led by Edward Whymper, but the descent ended tragically with four of the seven climbers falling to their deaths. The two most popular routes for climbers are the Hörnli Ridge (from Switzerland) and the Lion Ridge (from Italy).
Zermatt in Switzerland and Breuil-Cervinia in Italy are the two main resort towns near the Matterhorn, offering a variety of outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and mountaineering.
Matterhorn in Switzerland|I also have a screen-opening photo!!
I'm so lucky! Encountered a sunny day☀️
I was deeply shocked by the beauty of the Matterhorn⛰️!!
I took countless photos, and I was amazed at the natural scenery along the way.
It can be said that it was a visual feast😭
I saw the prototype mountain of the triangular chocolate🍫 with my own eyes, and I was really happy.
I took a cogwheel train up the mountain🚂, there are five stops in total⬇️
-Findelbach
-Riffelalp
-Riffelberg
-Rotenboden (photo check-in place📷)
-Gornergrat (terminal)
We went directly to the terminal, and then went to the penultimate station when we went down the mountain by car, and we didn't get off at the other three stations~
⚠️It is recommended that everyone sit on the right side of the direction of the train when going up the mountain! You can see the mountain better! The last two stations have the best scenery🏔️ and are most suitable for taking pictures!
We played for about 2-3 hours and then returned to Zermatt.
Then we went to the Matterhorn Viewpoint (P9)
It takes about 17 minutes to walk from Zermatt train station.
It might look better when the lights are on in the evening, we went during the day, and I feel that the scenery seen directly by the train up the mountain is more shocking
