2025 Valencia Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in February)

It was a trip to Valencia, Spain with friends. During our trip to Valencia, we had an incredible time exploring its rich history, stunning architecture, and picturesque landscapes 📸 Our first stop was the City of Arts and Sciences, an architectural marvel designed by Santiago Calatrava. This futuristic complex is perfect for photography 📸 with its striking white structures and reflective pools. We highly recommend visiting early in the morning or at sunset 🌇 when the lighting is magical, and the crowds are thinner. It’s the ideal spot for getting both wide-angle shots and detailed close-ups of the stunning curves and lines. 📍Av. del Professor López Piñero, 7, 46023 Valencia, Spain We also explored La Lonja de la Seda, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and were captivated by its Gothic architecture and impressive columns. The intricate details in the building’s interior, particularly the main hall with its twisted columns, offer fantastic photo opportunities 📸 We found that the best time for photos is in the early afternoon when sunlight filters through the windows, casting beautiful shadows on the stone floors 😍 📍Carrey de la Llotja, 2, 46001 Valencia, Spain We also wandered through the El Carmen neighborhood, a vibrant mix of medieval and contemporary architecture. Its narrow streets, colorful murals, and charming plazas were perfect for street photography 🙌We especially loved the shot of the Torres de Quart, the historic city gates, framed by the lively surroundings. Visiting in the late morning allowed us to capture the area in soft, diffused light, which made the colors pop ✨ 📍El Carmen, 46003 Valencia, Spain We then headed to the Turia Gardens, a lush green space running through the city where we found an abundance of beautiful landscapes to photograph 📸 We particularly loved the bridges and paths that cross the park, offering stunning views of both nature and urban architecture. The golden hour, just before sunset, was the perfect time to capture this place when the soft light illuminated the trees 🌳 and old bridges. 📍46023 Valencia, Spain For a different side of Valencia, we took a short drive 🚗 to Albufera Natural Park. The park is home to tranquil lakes and wetlands, and we were able to capture serene photos of the sunsets reflecting on the water 💦 If you’re into nature photography, this is a must-visit spot. #familytime We recently took a family city break in Valencia, and it was such a great experience! The blend of history and modern attractions kept all of us entertained. Our first stop was the City of Arts and Sciences, which is a must-visit. For around €8-€10 per person, the kids were amazed by the futuristic architecture and interactive exhibits at the Science Museum. We also spent a day at the Oceanogràfic (€31 for adults, €23 for kids), the largest aquarium in Europe. The underwater tunnels and dolphin show were definitely the highlights! After that, we wandered around the old town, taking in the beauty of the cathedral and the charming streets of El Carmen. Valencia is also perfect for family bike rides. We rented bikes and explored Turia Gardens, a massive green space in the heart of the city, and ended up at the beach for a relaxing afternoon. #100WaysOfTravel Valencia City of Arts and Sciences is a new landmark landscape, including the Science Museum, Ocean World, Opera House, park, etc., which is suitable for citizens and tourists to come here for leisure and entertainment. Taking photos is very good. We bought a ticket to the science exhibition hall, which is 9 euros, which is more suitable for children or teenagers. Just take photos outside. It is mainly in Sinish, and there is very little English, so many photo exhibitions are not easy to understand. The drinks inside are 2 euros of mineral water . You can bring your own bottle.

A beautiful neoclassical garden of about 12,000 square meters, created in the 19th century. Jardin de Monforte is decorated with many beautiful statues, figured gazebos, fountains, topiary bushes, old majestic trees and areas planted with colorful flowers. It is a magnificent Gothic church in the center of Valencia. The cathedral is considered one of the examples of Spanish Gothic architecture that developed in the Middle Ages. Its construction began in 1262 and was completed only several centuries later - in 1702. Absolutely must see when you are in Valencia. #myhiddengems The Cuidad de la artes y las Ciencias cannot be missed if you are visiting Valencia. It consists of spectacular looking white buildings surrounded by large pools of turquoise water. You must see the buildings during the day time and then return to see them flood lit at night. The centres attractions are based around 3 themes: art, science and nature. My personal favourite is the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia (Queen Sofia’s Palace of the Arts). It is gorgeous. Other than that there are several other buildings like Royal Opera, Museum of Science, Hemispheric with its Imax theater, oceanographic aquarium. Not matter when you come to see, day or night. The City of Art and Sciences was designed by Felix Candela and world famous Spanish architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava who was born in Benimamet, Valencia and inaugurated in 1998. Its cost was 1200 millions of Euros. It is the second time I came here and I am still fascinated by the neofuturistic design. The white constructions are a beautiful contrast to the blue sky. When you are tired of the museum relax in one of the restaurants or have a walk in neighboring park. The City of Arts and Sciences is an ensemble of six areas in the dry river bed of the now diverted River Turia in Valencia, Spain. It is located at Carrer de la Llotja, 2, 46001, Valencia, the nearest metro station is Xativa around 900 meters 12 minutes walk. It is open daily from 1000-1900, only Sunday 1000-1400, free entrance. The Lonja is one of the most famous civil gothic monuments in Europe. This great building wanted to symbolize the Valencia wealth of medieval times since its construction in 1492. It was declared a National Historic and Artistic Monuments in 1931 and was made a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996.

It is located at Placa del Mercat, s/n, 46001 Valencia, the nearest Metro Station is Angel Guimera, beside Valencia Central Market. The church was built in 1240 on the site of an old mosque, it had been reconstructed on the 14thand 16th centuries due to fire damage. The main facade is looking out of Central Market and facing the Lonja and has become the meeting point. In the main facade, a baroque entrance was opened under the O de Sant Joan, there is a small window, under it there is a sculptured eagle, symbol of Saint John the Evangelist. Be sure to visit this church, as the structure that remains today is early 17th century.

It is work based on diversity and has occupied a 12 storey building called Vivoendas del Norte, in the vicinity of the Joaquin Sorolla station. They are tall, as tall as the residential buildings that have filled the two Okuda Murals with color that can already be seen in Valencia. A call to optimism, energy, being together again and the joy of living that the artist has accustomed us to with his creations.

It was built between 1850 to 1858 in the neoclassical style, inspired by Roman architecture such as the Colosseum. The building is 17.65 meters tall and 52 meters in diameter at the ring and can hold up to 10500 people. Visiting Plaza de Toros not only to experience a traditional Spanish customs, but also it was listed as one of the best places to visit in Valencia.

Markets are one of those places that collect the essence and the soul of a city. And the 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 in 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 does exactly that. Upon entering the space one can't stop contemplating its impressive oval ceiling, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. The location of the market had served since long time ago, as an itinerant market where traders from all over 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 🇪🇸 would sell their goods to the inhabitants of 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 and it wasn't until 1928 when the market was officially inaugurated that it became permanent in this location. If you visit 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 this is certainly one of the places you should not miss‼️ 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 has many highlight when it comes to architecture, and if 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮 got 𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘪 𝘎𝘢𝘶𝘥í, 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 has 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘨𝘰 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘢. The architect, born in 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 in 1951, is the creative mind behind one of the most photographed buildings here, the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀. 🗓This project opened in 1998, but construction still continued up until 2005 when the last of its buildings was complete. The several constructions in this area have different purposes: - 𝙃𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙘: this eye-shaped building is used as a IMAX Cinema 🍿 - 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙪𝙢: the longest of the building in this complex is a museum devoted to communicate and teach about sciences 🧬 - 𝙐𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙡𝙚: this is a garden paralel to the museum where one can find many species of local trees and plants 🌴 - 𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙘: this is the largest aquarium in Europe 🦈 - 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙎𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙖 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚: It hosts the Opera Theatre of Valencia and is devoted to arts and music 🎭 - 𝘼𝙜𝙤𝙧𝙖: this is the latest project to get a purpose, when it was open this same year, 2022, as a 𝘊𝘢𝘪𝘹𝘢𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘮, a project of the Spanish financial entity "𝘓𝘢 𝘊𝘢𝘪𝘹𝘢" that hosts different exhibitions and that we got to visit inside 🖼 👉Definitely you would need one whole day to visit the entire complex, but many people come here to enjoy the views from the outside, to chill sitting by the water lakes 💦 and dipping the feet inside the water, or even there is the possibility to rent a transparent bottom kayak 🛶 or paddel surf board to move around the man-made lake in front of the buildings. Certainly a place for kids and adults to enjoy a good time while in 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 and admire the magnificent architecture and creativity of the buildings around. Take your time time to stroll around and enjoy the view peacefully and slowly. 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: get into the Agora building - recently open in 2022 as a 𝘊𝘢𝘪𝘹𝘢𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘮, entrance is free of charge 🎟- you would only need to pay if you wish to visit any of the exhibition they have - and you will get to enjoy a fantastic view of the building from inside. Its design reminds us of a 🐳 whale skeleton (𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 😂) and they have a public staircase with comfortable seating and even charging loads to plug in your phone when you run out of battery because you take too many pics and vids This was our visit to the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 in 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮, hope you like it and let us know if you have been there and have some tips to make the visit even more enjoyable #bucketlistreboot #spain #spaintravel #valencia #valenciatravel
