EDGE OF THE WORLD?
That’s the first thought that came to mind when I discovered this Cliff in Uluwatu. There really no signs on the roads showing that there is a magnificent cliff nearby so it’s kinda tricky to find but once you do, you’ll be sure to agree that checking it out wasn’t a mistake. Use any map application and type “Batu Jaran Cliff/Hill”
There’s no official entrance or gate there so entrance is free, you can go with a motorbike/car and leave it nearby whilst you observe the view of a lifetime.
If you’re lucky you could also observe some turtles swimming as you look down on the waves. If you’re ever in Uluwatu be sure to check out ‘Batu Jaran Cliff’

Visit the spectacular Uluwatu Cliff
Uluwatu is located in the south of Bali.
Since we stayed in a hotel in Kuta, we hired a driver for a day to explore Uluwatu.
The drive from Kuta to Uluwatu takes about 30-60 minutes depending on a traffic.
Upon arrival we started walking down the cliff passing by cute shops, cozy cafes and nice restaurants.
Make sure to check the tide, because you can walk around the corals and go all the way down the cliff if you arrive during low tide. If you arrive during high tide, it will be filled with water and you won’t get the change to see the corals and walk around at the bottom the cliff.
Once we were done, we started heading back up, we stopped at some cute shops to buy souvenirs and clothes. Since it was already almost sunset, we decided to have dinner at the Single Fin. We chose a table overlooking the cliff with a spectacular view of the breaking waves and sunset 🌅. I ordered chicken mushroom pasta and coca-cola. The food was delicious and the view was simply stunning.
Enjoy your trip to Uluwatu and have a great day 😊

Discovering Uluwatu: A Perfect Day of Surf and Sunset Bliss
On my recent trip to Uluwatu, Bali, I stayed at the charming Gravity Boutique Hotel, a perfect retreat with its bohemian and relaxing atmosphere. If you are looking for a peaceful, stylish place to stay near Bali’s famous cliffs, I highly recommend it. #holidayvacation #aesthetic #relax
🏄🏽♀️ My day began with a visit to Bingin Beach, a hidden gem with stunning scenary and a relaxed vine. Known for its consistenf waves, it’s a great spot for both begginer and seasoned surfers. I rented a board directly from the beach and spend the morning catching waves. A tip for first-timers: make sure to check the tides, as low tide exposes the reef, which can be tricky to navigate. #beachlife
🍛 After a few hours of surfing, I explored some of the local warungs (small eateries) along the beach. They offer delicious and affordable meals - perfect for refuelling after an active morning! Try the nasi goreng or fresh seafood. #foodie #localfood
🌅 For the afternoon, I headed to El Kabron Balin, a Spanish-inspired beach clun perched on a cliff with panoramic ocean views. The highlight of the day was watching the sunset from their infinity pool. #sunset
Overall, Uluwatu offers an amazing balance of adventure and relaxation, perfect for a beach-loving traveler. Whether you are surfing or just soaking up the views, it’s a destination you will remember. For those planning a trip, make sure to include Bingin Beach to your itinerary! #vacation
Tips for travellers visiting Uluwatu:
- Suluban Beach: also a prime surf spot - explore the caves at low tide!
- Surfing: most beaches have surfboard rentals by the beach. Prices are negotiable, especially for half or full day rentals.
- Single Fin Restaurant: this clifftop restaurant is perfect for sunset drinks and dinner with live music and a great vibe.
- Getting around: the best way to explore is by renting a scooter. Roads can be narrow, so drive carefully.
- Sun protection: the sun can be harsh, so pack plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat!
🧘🏻♀️🧘🏻♂️ Uluwatu has a laid-back vibe compared to busier areas of Bali. Slow down, enjoy sunsets, and take time to soak in the beautiful cliffside views and serene atmosphere!

Witnessing the sunset at Pura Luhur Uluwatu is a magical experience that words can barely capture. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant hues, painting the ancient cliffs and the majestic temple in shades of gold, pink, and purple. The rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the rocks below adds to the serene ambiance, making it a perfect moment of tranquility and reflection. Hidden gem in a not so hidden spot
#hiddengems
I know there is nothing hidden about Bali and tourists can be found everywhere on this island. Here's my thing though, more often tourist end up limiting their stays to kuta, semijiyak or other over crowded spots of Bali. Ubud no doubt is the cultural hub but again plenty of tourists over there.
Here is where I think and especially in comparision, there's a hidden gem in south of Bali and it is uluwatu. I've had several quiet stays here in very local areas where you'd get to experience the real bali. The beautiful culture of this island in the closest form. I don't want to give away too much. But consider indulging in a local stay in or around Ubud at a local family. It's a special experience. #hiddengem #uluwatu #bali #sunset #culture

Amazing trip in Bali
Unforgettable monkey attack during our Bali trip!
#familytrips2024
This year, we decided to spend our CNY in Bali. We didn't plan much on the itinerary as we just want to chill and relax in Bali. The first day of CNY, we visited Uluwatu Temple which is the must go place in Bali. The temperature was hot and the walk in was fine until my father walk over to a corner which I supposed is the alter / stage area where 3 monkeys were sitting on the railing. My father went over nearer to take photo and suddenly the monkey snatched his spectacle and started to eat the rubber. I was carrying my daughter and of course all of us was shocked 😳. Before I start to move away from the crime scene, another 🐒 looked at me and our eyes met! All of a sudden, my sunglass was gone from my head. oops, snatched as well in the matter of seconds! Helpless, my father went over to the staff and they came bringing some rambutans. upon seeing the rambutan, the monkey threw away the spectacle in its grip in exchange for the fruit. That was how we got our glasses back.
The pic above was taken after the event and we just quickly snap and go. Haha.. my mum run fastest! On our way out, we saw a Chinese guy chasing after a monkey which later confronted by a gang of monkeys coming from don't know where. Apparently his iPhone was snatched by the monkey 🐒! We didn't wait to see the ending so didn't know what happen to that guy. We left, chasing after my Mum who was already far in front 🤣

Nice getaway after dipping you can have brunch food (fantastic French fusion) and head for a massage nearby. I went uspa located just 10 min drive away.

Ulywatu Temple
#mytravelhacks #ulywatu #bali
Here you can enjoy the beauty of the Uluwatu temple, as well as the nature around the temple, such as steep and very beautiful rocks. In addition, there is a good Kecak dance performance, which you can also watch while admiring the sunset. The existing facilities are quite good. The service staff is also quite friendly. However, there are many wild monkeys around the temple, there is no security like in the Monkey Forest in Ubud, so it is better to be careful so that the wild monkeys do not take your things.
Bali sunsets: a daily dose of magic
Bali vibes: relaxed, rejuvenated, and free !
Instagram Worthy Location
This cliff mountain is located on the way to Tanah Barak Beach in Uluwatu.

Padang Padang Beach is a popular surf point in Bali with the great waves and white sandy stretch 100 meters from the north to the south. This surf point is situated on the white stone hill with nature scenery to the Indian Ocean and spectacular sunset at late afternoon that creates the romantic nuance. If you are experience or pro-surfer, Padang Padang Beach is the right place for you to enjoy the surf adventures during your holidays in the paradise island of Bali.
