#Old Tuku First Market-Tuku Town, Yunlin County
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
The old Tuku First Market is located in front of Tuku Shuntian Temple in Tuku Town, Yunlin County. It is also known as Shuntian Market. Tuku First Market was built in 1903 and was the first official public market established in Yunlin County during the Japanese colonial period. However, the First Market, which has a history of over a hundred years, could not withstand the erosion of time and became old and faced the fate of being demolished. In addition, after the opening of the First Expressway, some first-line towns in Tuku and Yunlin gradually lost their status as important transportation arteries. Later, with the efforts of local cultural and historical figures, and after many rounds of negotiations and communication with local authorities, the First Market was preserved and registered as a historical building.
