Promenade du Peyrou, Montpellier 🇫🇷
#wheretogo
One of the oldest and most beautiful cities in South of France, Montpellier is a quaint town just 2 hours train ride away from Paris, France, and it definitely warrants a day trip escape!
One of Montpellier’s top attractions is the Promenade du Peyrou with its own Arc du Triomphe. Peyrou Avenue also promises its visitors panoramic views of the city and of the ancient arches of a Roman aqueduct.
Well worth a visit, you will not be disappointed!
Am not able to tag Montpellier, as I could not find the tag, but it’s located in the larger region of Occitania.
My rating: 4 ⭐️ out of 5!
Saint-Pierre Cathedral, Montpellier FR 🇫🇷
#wheretogo
When in Montpellier, France, do consider a visit to the Saint-Pierre Cathedral - the only medieval Church in Montpellier.
Formerly used as a fortress, this is a very interesting cathedral that is quite Gothic in its architectural interior, but not so on its exterior which looks somewhat right out of the Middle Ages. There are lovely stained glass panels inside the cathedral - beautiful!

Basilique Saint-Sernin Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Basilica of Saint-Sernin in Toulouse | A representative of the pilgrimage church
Basilica Saint-Sernin is located in Toulouse, France, built alongside the road to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, a major pilgrimage center. It was constructed between 1080 and 1120 AD and is the largest preserved Romanesque church in Europe. From the time it was built, it provided accommodation for pilgrims, and its size reflects how passionate Europe was about pilgrimage at that time .
❤️Recommended reason: The power of faith
In the 3rd century, Saint Saturninus, the first bishop of Toulouse, was tied to a bull and dragged down the steps to his death for refusing to worship Roman idols. In the 5th century, Christians, now legalized, found his tomb outside the walls of Toulouse, reburied his remains, and built a chanting house around it.

place du capitole Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Toulouse City Walk | Taking you to see the Pink City
If Paris is grey and beige, and Nice is blue and white, then Toulouse is undoubtedly pink and green. The roads in France are mostly radial, and as you walk, it's basically impossible to distinguish north, south, east, and west . Buildings similar to the Wukang Mansion in the Magic City are everywhere around the Place de la Capitole in Toulouse.
The first picture is of the city's canal, with ancient trees reaching to the sky. On good weather days, many people sit on the grass in a daze, among them might be future philosophers
The third picture is of a building style I really like, which used to be a post office but has now been turned into a bar, only opening after 8:30 pm.
