Jiulong Cave is a large natural karst cave, with numerous stalactites, colorful and crystal clear, in various shapes and forms. It is worth a visit.
1. Transportation: Public transportation is not very convenient, suitable for private cars or taxis. It takes about 35 minutes by taxi from the city center, costing around 40 yuan. If taking a taxi, it is best to keep the driver's phone number for the return trip.
2. Tickets: You can buy them on-site or online. It is best to buy a sightseeing car ticket, which costs 16 yuan for a round trip. There is a bit of distance from the entrance to Jiulong Cave.
3. Preparation: Sunscreen, sun-protective clothing, and a jacket are recommended. The temperature difference between inside and outside the cave is significant in summer, so it is best to dry off sweat before entering the cave to avoid catching a cold.

Guizhou was still a 'jimi prefecture' until the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties, ruled by hereditary Tusi chieftains. It has been under the central government's rule for 600 years.

In the eleventh year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1413), the Sizhous and Sinan Xuanwei Si were abolished, and Tongren, Sinan, Shiqian, and Wuluo prefectures were established in the current territory, all of which belonged to the Guizhou Provincial Administration Commission set up at that time. In the third year of the Zhengtong reign (1438), Wuluo Prefecture was abolished, and most of its territory was incorporated into Tongren Prefecture. This is how Tongren got its name.
After the establishment of Guizhou Province, there were fourteen successive generals stationed in Tongren. The famous southern Miao border wall/Southern Great Wall also started from Tongren.

There's a taxi right outside the door, and a free parking lot, which is awesome. There are also charging stations nearby, which can fully charge in just an hour, thumbs up. It's very close to all the universities, less than a 10-minute walk to tour the entire University Town!!

After arriving at Tongren University Town, my friend and I were indecisive for a long time, choosing from many homestay hotels, and finally this one won my heart. The ancient city is actually quite large, with old buildings inside, including a primary school, a medical hall, various alleys, a Confucian temple, academies, ancient city walls, and of course, new buildings, which are very well planned and designed.
At night, the lights are beautiful, and it's bustling with many people. There are also original residents living inside, so it's called a living ancient city.
I got up early in the morning to climb a small hill, and there was a Dongshan Temple on the top of the hill. I walked around the ancient city.
The Xiaolongbao (steamed dumplings) in the ancient city are so delicious, located next to the archway on Zhongnanmen Archway Street. Many primary school students eat them in the morning, and I heard it has been open for over a decade.
The freshly steamed small buns are 10 for 8 yuan, and you have to grab them fast!!! Sprinkle on some special chili sauce and pickles. The bun skin soaks up the spicy sauce, a favorite for those who love strong flavors, and it's great with porridge or soy milk. I went back for more four times, eating a total of 50 buns.
The fried potatoes and ten-meter tofu across the street are also very delicious. The potatoes are powdery and sticky, seasoned well and very tasty. The rice tofu is a bit firm, not mushy. Universally praised.
I had never heard of the secret Tongren Ancient City before, but stumbling upon it this time was an unexpected gain.
