Tokyo Station is a major railway station located in the Marunouchi business district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. It serves as a central transportation hub for the city and the wider Kanto region, connecting various railway lines, including Shinkansen (bullet train) services, commuter trains, and local lines. 【Tokyo】SAPHIR Odoriko Sightseeing Train: A Luxurious Journey from Tokyo to Izu
Tokyo Station is one of Japan's most important transportation hubs, with many special trains departing from or passing through here. For this trip to Ito, we decided to depart from Tokyo Station and take the JR East 'SAPHIR Odoriko' sightseeing train 🚝.
The name of the train means 'sapphire' in French 💎, which not only describes the train's appearance but also evokes the beautiful blue ocean and sky of the Izu region. The train features a streamlined E261 series design, with a simple and stylish exterior. The entire train consists of 8 carriages but has only 164 seats, ensuring that each passenger can enjoy a spacious and comfortable ride 😙.
We booked a single seat in the PREMIUM GREEN top-class business cabin of Car 1. The seats here are extremely comfortable, equipped with charging outlets and can rotate 360 degrees, allowing us to adjust the best viewing angle at any time. The backrest and footrest are adjustable, making the long journey more enjoyable. Through the large windows, the beautiful scenery outside is unobstructed, making us feel delighted 😌.
We chose to get off at Atami Station to match our next itinerary. Of course, passengers can also get off at Ito or other JR stations according to their needs, enjoying flexible travel options.

【Tokyo】Tokyo Station: The intersection of culture and transportation
#TokyoAttractions
Tokyo Station is a red brick building located in Marunouchi. It is not only a landmark in Tokyo, but also the heart of Japan’s national railways💝. The architect of this famous station, Tatsuno Kingo, is famous for his British red brick and white pattern style. As the first generation of Japanese architects, his works spread across the country and shaped the face of Japan in the Meiji era🇯🇵.
In addition to its important transportation hub function, Tokyo Station is also a cultural paradise integrating restaurants and shopping. Here, tourists can explore all kinds of food as they like, from "Tokyo Animation Character Street"🤩 where popular anime character shops are gathered, to "Tokyo Ramen Street" where Tokyo's famous ramen shops are gathered🍜, to direct sales and test sales by large snack manufacturers Every corner of the store's "Tokyo Dessert Paradise" is full of surprises.
Walking out of the station, Tokyo Station looks particularly charming under the night sky. The red bricks and light and shadow interweave, making people feel the place of Japanese culture and history.

Classic Beauty and City Vibes: Discovering Tokyo Station!

Visiting Tokyo Station was like stepping into a piece of history! The beautiful red-brick building stood tall, blending old-world charm with modern Tokyo vibes. It felt like traveling back in time while still in the heart of the bustling city.
I loved walking through the station, taking in its grand architecture and intricate details. The high ceilings and classic design made it feel special, like a historical treasure. Outside, I couldn’t resist snapping pictures of the iconic facade—it’s a must-see!
Tokyo Station isn’t just a train hub; it’s a stunning piece of history surrounded by modern energy. It’s the perfect mix of tradition, beauty, and city life!

Beware of Tokyo Station Ramen Street⚠️
#JapanTravel
There are representative character streets and ramen streets in Tokyo Station! I went to Ramen Street to look at goods and eat ramen, but there were no tourists at all, just locals. There was a wait during lunch time, so I went to the place with the shortest line.
I ordered menu 1 (teriyaki char siu noodles), which seemed to be the most representative menu, and my friend ordered menu 10 (rich seafood tonkotsu).
But, it was so salty 😭
They say Japanese food is salty and sweet, but I experienced it here properly ㅠㅠ
My friend couldn't eat it because it was so salty.. Don't go to any place where there is no line like us, but look around carefully!!

Although it's a bit tricky to find inside Tokyo Station, even someone with a poor sense of direction like me managed to find it in just 15 minutes by following the signs for Yaesu.

The potato fries were crispy without being too hard and were just the right size to enjoy on your own.

The menu with sea urchin roe was 'Matsu'.
When there was about 1/3 left, they added sea bream broth, which was really a delicacy!!
