High. 🚂 The view of this train is superb and when the train was taking the curve at Brusio Spiral Viaduct is the thing you can't miss. Tirano is a beautiful town in Italy. It borders Switzerland. It turns out there are several trains that can take you from Chur/St Moritz, Switzerland to Tirano, Italy. The town of Tirano is small but very cozy and picturesque. The food here is super delicious and authentic Italian. There are also several shops for shopping, which are great places to restock supplies. This short stop left me with great memories. The most highly regarded day trip to the Swiss Alps from Milan, Italy is via the Bernina Express. While you can visit the Alps more quickly by taking other trains, those trains are not open air, so much of your trip is spent in tunnels. If you want to SEE the Swiss Alps, the Bernina Express is the way to do it. The Bernina Express train winds up the mountain from an altitude of 429 to 2253. The views are spectacular. We took the Bernina Express from Tirano to Chur. Total Journey takes about 4 hours to complete. It covered many scenic landscapes, viaducts, bridges and mountain-top lakes and glacier falls Just remember if you are alighting off the train in between, you have approx 2mins to hop back on! If not the train is going to depart without you! We had someone in our train who did that and missed the train! There are complimentry stacks given, like the biscuits and tea! Complimentry wifi provided for all as well! You can follow the train's journey by connecting to their wifi and listen to the audio guide, while following thru the live updates of the train's speed and altitude.
