Never smile at a crocodile
Of all the ecosystems in the world, Mangroves are one of the most spectacular to visit. Unfortunately they are quite a rare biome and can only be found in a handful of spots across the globe.
Visitors to the Central American nation of Costa Rica are therefore fortunate that they can visit them on the countries Pacific coast.
Just outside the beach town of Tamarindo you can take a boat ride along this primordial areas and get the chance to catch a vast array of wildlife that lives here from the birds sweeping across the tree line to the sounds of howler monkeys and of course the crocodiles lurking amongst the swamps #voyagevibes #costarica

Tamarindo: the Jewel of Costa Rica’s pacific coast
Costa Rica is famous for many things from its biodiversity to its rainforest scenery. Of course one of those highlights are it’s beautiful coastline both on the Caribbean and Pacific sides.
If you are visiting the Pacific side, you would be hard pressed to beat Tamarindo and its surrounding area.
Some of the highlights when visiting there include walking along the miles of golden beaches, taking a lesson from its many surf schools, taking a boat trip through the mangrove forests to observe wildlife and getting a bite to eat at the town’s fantastic food and night markets #100waysoftravel

Tamarindo in Costa Rica's Guanacaste Province is a coastal haven blending natural beauty and adventure seamlessly. Playa Tamarindo and Playa Langosta offer surfers paradise with stunning Pacific views. The northern gem, Playa Grande, hosts nesting leatherback turtles within Las Baulas National Marine Park, showcasing the marvels of nature.

Peaceful few hours out
I can’t help but think that the monkey park gets the experience it provides spot on. We were probably there for an hour in total, which was perfect and didn’t leave us lugging around in the heat for too long. Plenty to do and look at in the park without being too expansive or exhaustive.
€10 pp for entry is brilliant for the experience provided, and I must assume this as one of the best excursions available on the island in terms of value for money. A further €3 for animal food made the experience greater for my partner, who was extremely excited to be able to feed the monkeys personally, as well as the lemurs, some tortoise, and guinea pigs. Little to no queueing allows you to enjoy the experience that bit extra also, so kudos for that.
