Phnom Tama
Phnom Tamao zoo is the largest zoo in Cambodia run by the government. This zoo is covered with natural green forest and lake. There is Wildlife Rescue Center who has been working their best to recuse those wildlife species. There are around 100 wildlife species, exactly 1200 animals, living there. Those animals were confiscated from illegal wildlife trade. The rescue team had saved more numbers of wildlife animals, however, some of them were released back into the wild when they can live independently, or if release is not possible they are given a home at the centre for as long as needed. The centre was established since 1995, so it’s almost 30 years.By visiting this zoo, you are also one of donators who help raising those lovely species. It’s located in Takeo province, along national road 2. A half day holiday is enough because it’s not far from Phnom Penh. Nice environment and nice village foods.
