Play with science to inspire infinite possibilities #National Taiwan Science Education Center-Shilin District, Taipei City
#tripA great choice for family outings
The National Taiwan Science Education Center, located in Shilin District, Taipei City, is a large, modern museum dedicated to promoting science education and enhancing scientific literacy. Its core philosophy is "hands-on science," breaking down the barriers of traditional education and allowing visitors to experience the joy and mysteries of science through hands-on experiences and interactive installations.
The National Taiwan Science Education Center, along with the adjacent Taipei Astronomical Museum and Taipei Children's Amusement Park, forms the "Taipei Science and Art Park," a premier destination for family outings and in-depth learning.
The new National Taiwan Science Education Center boasts ten floors and three underground levels, encompassing exhibition areas covering every major field of science. Its permanent exhibitions (primarily on floors 3-6) feature lively and interactive elements, inviting visitors to explore the vast world of science:
Life Sciences (Floors 3 & 4): Beginning with the mysteries of the human body, visitors delve into the foundations of life, including genes, cells, and the five senses. Physical Sciences, Mathematics, and Earth Sciences (5th and 6th Floors): Through a variety of hands-on devices, visitors can experience the principles of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and other subjects. In the "Science Game World," visitors can personally try their hand at riding a square-wheeled bicycle and operating a crane, exploring the relationship between force and motion.
In addition to its informative permanent exhibitions, the Science and Technology Museum is also known for its challenging and engaging special attractions, creating unforgettable scientific memories:
SkyCycle: One of the museum's most popular attractions, SkyCycle allows visitors to ride a bicycle on a cable 20 meters above the ground, spanning the atrium. Weights installed at the bottom of the bicycle give it an extremely low center of gravity, ensuring stable balance. This challenge challenges visitors' courage and practically applies the scientific principle of the center of gravity of a tumbler.
Museum Bridge: A transparent wooden bridge spanning the atrium connects the upper exhibition areas, allowing visitors to overlook the main hall from above. It serves as an extension of the museum's circulation and a popular photo spot. The Black Box Immersive Theater: Incorporating the latest audio-visual technology, it provides an immersive visual experience, allowing audiences to understand complex scientific concepts from a whole new perspective.
The Stereoscopic Theater and the Motion 3D Theater: Offering stunning 3D films and a 4D motion simulation theater with motion-activated seating, the theater allows audiences to experience the fusion of science and technology while enjoying entertainment.
The National Taiwan Science Education Center, with its rich interactive exhibits, exciting experience facilities, and profound educational mission, is a place of knowledge for exploring science, inspiring curiosity, and inspiring creative thinking. Whether children, teenagers, or adults, there's something for everyone here to enjoy.
