Mie's power spot: Takihara Shrine, an auxiliary shrine of the Imperial Grand Shrine of Ise
Takihara Shrine
Ise Shrine is famous for Amaterasu Omikami, but there is also Takihara Shrine in Taiki Town, Mie Prefecture, as a branch shrine.
Both Takihara Shrine and Takihara-nami Shrine enshrine the spirit of Amaterasu Omikami, and they have been revered as "remote shrines" since ancient times.
Takihara Shrine has two branch shrines side by side, and has many differences from other branch shrines, such as having a boat storehouse. The approach to the shrine is surrounded by cedar trees over several hundred years old within the sacred grounds, and the washroom that uses the flow of valley water is reminiscent of the Inner Shrine, and takes you back to the Age of the Gods.
It is common to visit Takihara Shrine first, then Takihara-nami Shrine.
When you go through the entrance gate, you feel as if you are being sucked into a green tunnel.
Right next to Takihara Shrine, there is a cedar-lined approach lined with large cedar trees that look to be over 100 years old. You can drive through it, but in the summer, the air is very quiet and cold, so it feels different, and just taking a deep breath feels like you are being cleansed from the inside.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who feels stressed out by everyday life.

A little further away from Takihara Shrine and into the countryside, you will find Konpeito, a small old-style cafe. You can enjoy madeleines, cookies, coffee, and tea. The old-style house also has a lovely, tasteful atmosphere.
