Unraveling Nature's Magic: Richard W. DeKorte Park
As I wandered through the trails of Richard W. DeKorte Park. I was struck by its unique blend of natural beauty and significant history. Named after Richard W. DeKorte, a New Jersey Assemblyman dedicated to the environment, this park is the product of extensive land remediation. Once a dumping site, it's now a thriving sanctuary for diverse wildlife - a testament to the resilience of nature.
The park's network of paths led me through vibrant marshes and bird-filled skies, with the Manhattan skyline providing a striking backdrop. I spotted a group of geese, adding to the charming cacophony of the park's thriving bird community.
My visit was a humbling reminder of nature's ability to rebound and flourish, offering us spaces of tranquility amidst our bustling lives.

The Mysterious Mangrove
Wanting a change of scenery, to breathe in the scent of nature and admire the diverse biodiversity at your own pace? Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is the perfect escape for you - rows after rows of mangrove forests, all ready for your exploration.
Who would’ve known that this mysterious mangrove has so many precious views hidden and wildlife waiting for you to uncover.
I have wandered through the wetlands on several occasions and have always enjoyed the game of hide-and-seek with their seemingly resident crocodile, spotting the camouflaged mudskippers and enjoying the view out in the open while watching the huge school of fishes swim by and frequently leaping out of the clear waters.
Tip: Bird-watchers paradise - visit early in the morning when you will be able to clearly hear the birds singing.

Victoria Falls, the highlight of Africa
Located on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, Victoria Falls is the world's greatest sheet of falling water, with a width of 1708m and an average height of 100m. The powerful falling water generates a huge spray which can be seen 30km away. The magnificent sight and sound of the falling water and the vast biodiversity in the region earn Victoria Falls its status as an UNESCO world heritage site and make Victoria Falls a highlight of the African continent. (Tip: Visit in the afternoon for better lighting, higher chance of seeing rainbow, and less crowd. Bring raincoat or umbrella and wear waterproof shoes with good grips as the spray from the falls feels like heavy rain and makes the road slippery.) #thingstodo #nature #waterfall #biodiversity #watersports
Best canopy in Costa Rica: Monteverde
Monteverde is worldly known for its amazing cloud forest and biological reserves. Located 3 hours from San Jose, this small town is one of the best locations to visit for ecotourism. Perfect for outdoor activities, bird watching, hiking, sightseeing, and some indoor museums/gardens also focused to promote conservation.
Now, imagine crossing over those gorgeous cloud forests in zip lines. Coming to Costa Rica, or visiting Monteverde without experiencing a canopy tour is a waste. This is an amazing family experience! Should I say, this moment I shared with my sister and my mom was definitely one of the best in life.
This particular canopy takes about 2:30 hours, some zip lines are short, one is very long (and scary high!), and changes your life (adrenaline rush). Specially, the Tarzan swing at the end.
