Koutoubia Mosque
The architecture of the Muslims that stands undefeated no matter the city or country is the mosque, or masjid. A significant place for religious activities, one of the tallest, most beautiful, and largest mosques in Marrakech is the Koutoubia Mosque, a spiritual beacon built in the 12th century during the Hispano-Moresque period. It is known for its luxurious simplicity, crafted by the Almohad dynasty using pink stones to construct the walls, including a rose-colored tower that stands 77.3 meters tall, adorned with a golden arrow and sphere at the top, visible from up to 25 kilometers away, and surrounded by a garden of green and red roses. The interior is decorated in a modern style, with pointed arch windows embellished with ceramics, and the halls are well-divided for various events. The construction of this masjid took over 40 years, starting from 1150 AD, and the prayer room can accommodate up to 25,000 people.
Unfortunately, this place was severely affected by a major earthquake in Morocco at the beginning of September 2023.
Marrakech Medina
The old town area of Marrakech Medina, or the Medina of Marrakech, has been an ancient capital of Islam since the 11th century and retains the original beauty of the Almoravide and Almohade dynasties to this day. You can freely plan a tour of the city, either walking on top of or below the Medina walls as you wish. In this area, there is also the famous market, Marrakech Souks, where you can stop by for some local souvenir shopping, similar to our JJ Market back home. Shops are divided into zones, selling everything from fresh food, handicrafts, clothing, soaps, tea sets, to various accessories for you to browse and shop at your leisure. The market is open from 10 in the morning until around 1 at night. If you're tired from walking, stop by a cafe, every shop is welcoming. If you want to take photos on the rooftop, you'll be surrounded by the warmth of the sun, the dense crowd, and the smoke from cigarettes. Bye!

That's my first experience of Riad in Marrakech. And that's amazing! it's located right near the most touristic place in Marrakech - Jemaa el-Fnaa. We were invited to have a cup of Moroccan tea while waiting for our room. Great buffet breakfast was included in the price of the room. That's an amazing place to stay. Highly recommend!

Dining at Bacha ION
Address - 2 Orchard Turn 01-15/16 ION
Ambiance - stylish, classy
Ave. Price per Person - SGD 50
Rating - 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I heard this Bacha branch always have a long queue. They only have a small area for dining in so turnaround of table occupancy is quite slow. Still, worth the wait, based from my experience.
I was used to putting chantilly cream on scones but it was the first time I’ve put it in coffee!!! My oh my, what a pleasant surprise! hahaha. Loved it! I have also added freshly ground vanilla bean to my coffee. The sandwiches we ordered were ok and just about right for a light, early dinner. By the
time we were there, almost all desserts have run out. We decided to try their tiramisu. It was delicious but not as mind-blowing as the one we had in a restaurant in Sentosa (clue: I had a separate trip moment post about the restaurant serving the best tiramisu I’ve tasted here in Singapore).

Next, dive into the heart of the city, the Medina. Navigate its labyrinthine alleys filled with colorful stalls selling everything from spices to handcrafted leather goods. Remember to haggle - it’s part of the fun!
For lunch, savor a traditional Moroccan tagine at a local restaurant. The slow-cooked stew, bursting with flavors of saffron and preserved lemon, is a culinary delight.
In the afternoon, visit the Bahia Palace, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture. Its intricate tile work and beautiful gardens are truly mesmerizing.
As the sun sets, head to Jemaa el-Fnaa, the city’s main square. It comes alive with food stalls, musicians, and storytellers. But beware of pickpockets in the crowd.

full day trip from Marrakech & atlas Mountain
Come with me or with my Friend Lahcen to discover all most popular treks .Meet in Imlil (1,740m), set in the upper level foothills of the Western High Atlas mountains, a main trailhead with streams and paths branching out in all directions. Here you will leave your vehicle to take a welcome glass of mint tea in the village and chat with you prior to setting out for some 15kms excursion. towards the south to the Berber village of Azzaden valley via Tizi Mazik Mountain pass 2489m, passing the hamlets of Arghen, Mazik, up and down the stark slopes, the jagged Western High Atlas peaks of the Toubkal Massif before us - Jbels Aguelzim (3,547m), Aksouâl (3,847m) and the Adrar Adj (3,122m) watching us all the way. There will be a stop at Tizi oussem village to visit this rather singular village in the Assif Aït ouazzaden Valley, built seemingly house upon house on a large moraine spur, overlooking ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn and vegetables and always surrounded by almond and walnut trees. The trek then continues for another half hour until the stop for the lunch it can be an option which my be served among a berber familly in the village of Idissa. After lunch you set off back .

This is a sign to escape the cold🥶February and book your tickets to Marrakech!! 🙌🏻🥰
the number of tourists visiting Marrakech in February is lower than usual. This means that prices are also a little cheaper, which is perfect if you want to stay in a Riad (the traditional Moroccan villa).
get cheap flights ✈️ and enjoy Marrakech without the long queues and crowds.
February is also a very quiet month in Marrakech, as it is the low season. This way, you'll be able to enjoy the activities without being too hot, as the winter climate in Morocco is like spring. 🌴🌺☀️💓

A GLIMPSE INTO MOROCCO STREET ART
#marrakech #casablanca #rabat Artists transformed the same cities of Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech into living canvases.
Writing on walls is a practice as old as time. Literally. With different historical eras, from prehistoric rock paintings to hieroglyphics to young couples distorting hieroglyphaical sayings with the artistic genius of “Ahmed+Mona=4Ever,” humanity has developed different ways of proving to ourselves and future generations the profoundly human statement: “we were here.” "While street art and modern graffiti are rooted in the same impulse, they’ve also evolved for different purposes."
We've developed a certain expectation towards street art: rebellious, cutting-edge and fundamentally counterculture. Street art, though now perhaps a separate category from "graffiti," is forever inseparable tied to the same subculture that gave Christmas to hip hop: in American cities starting on in the 1960s, predominantly young black people claim urban space for themselves, both as individuals and as evolving gang culture that has tied the urban centers.
Claiming roads and walls, the practice goes against what are perhaps two fundamental principles of modern society: that the state owns public space and the sanctity of private property. While subcultures have undoubtedly moved for decades and thousands of kilometers, street art in the Arab world is still often a function of the daily claim of space (as in the landscape of Egypt’s “calligraffiti”) or an act of political resistance (as in the Apartheid Wall in Palestine).
The giant murals created by international artists in Morocco, on the other hand, tell a very different story, of widespread and systematic support of art in the public space. Therefore, Morocco’s thriving street art scene is one of the great curated events that give space for local and international artists to transform entire cities into living canvases. Main of these events are Jidar - Toiles de rue, an annual gathering of a dozen international and Moroccan artists in Rabat, and the Sbagha Bagha Casablanca Street Art Festival, both organized by the same non-profit organization, EAC - L’Boulvart, which supports contemporary music and urban culture in Morocco.
The development of these and other festivals, funding from the Moroccan government and collaborations with institutions such as Maroc Telecom, the Casablanca Academy of Fine Arts and the Marrakech Biennial, initiatives like these have transformed the streets of Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech and even smaller cities such as Safi and Essaouira in perhaps the most exciting art studio in the Middle East.
