A Must Visit Place In HCMC🇻🇳
#hochiminhcity
this time i visited Vietnam’s Independence Palace that located in Ho Chi Minh City, this place also publicly known as the Reunification Convention Hall. Independence Palace is one of the most famous landmark in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This place was the home and workplace of the president of the Republic of Vietnam. It played a crucial role in Vietnam's history, particularly during the Vietnam War. This place is a must-visit tourist spot due to its historical significance and architectural beauty.
PS: the location is near Ben Thanh Market, after visiting this place you can go to shopping at the market🩷

Visiting One Of HCMC’s Landmark 🇻🇳
#hochiminhcity
If you come to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam don’t forget to visit one of the most famous landmarks in town: Sai Gon Central Post Office. This place is a post office in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's cathedral. Sai Gon Central Post Office has an interesting design, the interior design is a perfect combination of neo-classical European architecture and Asian decorations, such an instagram-worthy place!

HCMC's Historical Gem
#hochiminhcity
Another landmark of Ho Chi Minh City is the Reunification or Independence Palace. It is a historical gem because it educates the tourists on the happenings of the Vietnam War. The palace is massive and located at the center of the city. There is an entrance fee but for the amount of places to see, the fee is worth it. We visited on a Sunday so be prepared for the throng of people if you’re coming on a weekend. What surprised me is that there’s a lot of local people also visiting the palace.
The building is of modern style. The façade and the lawn with the water feature in front has a very authoritative or commanding feel. There are counters where you can avail of the audio-guided tours. The rooms are all open for photos but are barricaded so you could only take photos from outside of the room, you cannot go in. There’s a lot to see, from basement to top, be prepared to take stairs too, since the lifts are small and hard to find. There were really a lot to photograph. I especially loved the rooftop where there are scenic viewpoints. There’s a souvenir shop at the top too, with refreshments you can buy for a break.

Thien Hau Temple: Must visit in HCMC
#hochiminhcity
Thien Hau Temple is a Chinese temple in Ho Chi Minh’s Chinatown. We scheduled this spot on our second day as this place is also far from the city center. We reached the temple via grab and arrived without much people in there. The gate is just along the road with the temple having a huge setback from the road. Reading from the websites, it was advised to dress modestly, thus lumping this place with other attractions that need modest dressing. The temple’s entrance isn’t that striking, it’s simple and typical Chinese architecture. When we got inside, the interior is much more intricate. The detailing and smell of incense would really make you mindful of the whole temple. We saw the famous incense rings and watched as others prayed and lit the incense rings with the temple staff helping them hang it onto the ceiling. We eventually tried it following what the previous people did and luckily the temple staff were able to converse with us on how to do it, and even encourage us to take photos while lighting the incense rings and pray. I can definitely recommend going here and try lighting up your own incense rings as this is a unique experience for a non-Buddhist like me.

📚 Ho Chi Minh's Book Street 📚
#hochiminhcity
One great thing about tourist spots in Ho Chi Minh is that they are close to each other. After visiting Saigon Post Office, the famous Book Street is only a walking distance away. The Book Street can easily be recognized due to the arc entrance. The street is lined up with shops selling books, stationery, and souvenirs. Coffee shops and cafes can also be found here if you’re needing a break from all the walking around. The street is pedestrian only thus allowing for tables and seating to be setup in the middle of the road. Even though the books here aren’t in English, I still definitely enjoyed looking through stationeries for souvenirs. I bought postcards and stickers to add to my collection. Also the street is worth visiting just for the atmosphere and peaceful surroundings. The street is also lined up with trees so it was not hot when we visited. I would definitely come back if I had a longer stay in the city.

4 stars hotel you shouldn’t miss in HCMC
From the very first time I stayed in this hotel, I can say that I became one of their loyal customers. Can’t count how many times I have choose to stay here. The moment that you walk inside their lobby you can feel “ahh wow, this hotel is quite nice”
They got many different types of room and the interior is gorgeous, even the price is really reasonable, or be more precisely, very competitive in SG comparing to other “4 stars” hotels.
Rooftop bar is ok, although the swimming pool is small and not too deep, if you are aiming to find a hotel that can swim, this pool is not that suitable.
To sum up, if I am going to SG and feeling lazy to pick the hotel for staying, I will choose Cochin zen because I know they will not let me down :)

Send Postcards at Saigon Post Office!
#hochiminhcity
Saigon Post Office is considered to be a cultural gem for Ho Chi Minh City. The building is majestic inside and out with the architecture being a mix of western colonial styles with French colonial as the most dominant one. This place is famous among the tourists due to the architecture and the activity you can do inside the post office. Since the building is a working post office, you can try sending a postcard from here. My friends and I bought postcards from a huge selection in the middle of the building then proceeded to drop them off at the staff on the sides, be sure to buy the correct stamp. I sent a postcard to myself, it arrived in Singapore after I think 2 weeks. It was a cute experience. The corridors at the side of the entrance are also lined with shops for your souvenir shopping. I was able to buy stickers for my collection here. Overall, I can say that this is a must-visit tourist spot in Ho Chi Minh City.

All-inclusive Centrally Located Hotel 🔥
This is by far the best hotel I have stayed in HCMC.
🏪 CONVENIENCES
The hotel is located in the central of HCMC, near the Fine Arts Museum, you can conveniently walk to the bar street, Ben Thanh market, or Bitexco are not an issue. There are a few convenience stores and eateries next to the hotels.
🍺 FREE FLOW OF FOODS & DRINKS
The hotel also offers all-inclusive experience, on the roof-top, there is a self-service resting area serving all types of drinks and beers, coffee, teas, snacks, cup noodles, feel free to consume anytime you want. This site will turn into cafe in the morning, you can get your breakfast set here. The choices are very limited but taste is acceptable.
🏭 SUPERB VIEW
The resting area has a balcony where you can see the skies and city views, it looks stunning during sunset. On top of the resting area is the play zone, where you can play some games and pool. I was hoping that they can partition a space for gym instead, make it a life-balance after so much eating and drinking.
🛌 UNIQUE ROOM
We booked the cozy double room, it is a spacious room with a hammock installed beside the bed placed on a raised platform. Mini bar is complimentary, a drawing board was placed beside the mini bar, it is time for you to show off your talent. Most importantly, the room is exceptionally clean and cozy!
Hopefully when the MRT is operational, it can offer a better connection to other parts of HCMC. offers all-inclusive experience.

Fancy Vietnamese Coffee
Trung Nguyen Legend coffee is a a higher end fancy coffee chain in Vietnam. They seem to handmake each cup at a time so it does take a bit more time.
The setting is quite relaxed and cozy so you can enjoy your coffee in a nice setting. It's also good to get some work done there.
I ordered my favorite: caphe sua da! It was very tasty: bold and full of flavor. You'll also be greeted with unlimited refills of tea.The prices are more on the expensive side for Vietnam but for the setting and the taste it's really alright. Head over for a nice rich cup of coffee!

Local flair in a fancy setting
Nha Hang Ngom is a great place for foreigners to get a sample of Vietnamese cuisine. It's in a posh and often crowded venue that opens up to the street.
The service is nice and the staff can be a bit slow but they quickly come over if you need to get their attention.
The food itself tastes a little more foreign than the local Vietnamese flavors but this is expected as it caters mainly to foreigners. Nonetheless, nothing bad but just somewhat different. As such, the price is accordingly a bit more expensive than average! A good eat nonetheless if you want to taste Vietnamese food, especially with fall coming and the temperature is more forgiving.

HCMC underated coffee scene
Ho Chi Minh City's coffee scene and culture is often overlooked. In fact I find Vietnam's coffee to be one of the best in the world; it's coffee is bold and full of flavor.
As fall approaches, head to one of the many coffee shops in the city to enjoy some great coffee at bargain prices! Many are independently owned and make for a great support for the local economy!
In more authentic settings, the coffee is usually accompanied with a cup of ice cold refreshing tea which itself is a lovely drink!
#fallingseason #hcmc #vietnam #coffee #explore
Local beer and good food
The Pasteur Street Brewing co offers you great local craft beers with local tastes and flavors, which include passion fruit and jasmine, which are unusual but very good flavors!
I suggest getting the tasting menu where you can select 6 different beers, which is almost all the different flavors they have. I really found them interesting as they are flavors of Vietnam !
The food is also quite good, offering you a mix of both Vietnamese and foreign foods.
Finally the ability to eat outside with some fans is also a great bonus. Definitely recommend a try if you're into local beers.

Vietnamese durian
Durians ... just as they say, one man's poison is another man's meat. Some love this king of fruits while others detest it for its pungent smell and texture. I for one, enjoy this fruit for the exact same reason.
We were recommended by a local friend to try some Vietnamese durians and so we did! It is slightly sweeter and more watery than Malaysian durians but honestly very delicious and worth a taste if you are in Ho Chi Minh City 😁

Too much activities in Ho Chi Minh!!!!
We went to HCMC for a 5 days 4 nights trip. Thought that it will be sufficient enough for us to travel throughout the city. Boy, was I wrong.
There were so many activities that I couldn't squeeze in enough time for all that I wanted.
Quick summary:
1) AO Show - A MUST watch when you are in HCMC
2) Golden Dragon water puppet show - I find it average, my kids love it though.
3) Cu Chi Tunnels - Interesting tour, enough to go once.
4) Mekong Delta Tour - Actually really fun. The trip consists of going to Unicorn Island, Coconut Island and Mekong Delta. Took sampan, speedboat, "tuk tuk".
*Went to a few stops in between. The above are the "main attraction of the day".
