The Stunning Rice Fields!
Longji Rice Terraces (Long Ji Ti Tian) is located in Longsheng County, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Guilin and 140 kilometers (90 miles) from Yangshuo. The construction of incredible Longji Rice Terraces started in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and lasted till the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
I spent two days here but could and should have spent longer. I stayed at the 360 panoramic hotel, which offers absolutely stunning views of the entire rice fields for an excellent affordable price.
This place is stunning to take walks on with your camera. You can either take the cable car up to the top of the mountain or you can walk up, if you like hiking. I also flew my drone up over the top of the mountains to get some stunning panoramic views of the entire terraces.

Longsheng Rice Terraces in Guilin
Longsheng Rice Terraces, also called the Longji Rice Terraces are pocated in Longsheng Guilin. The distance to Guilin downtown is 77 km. Great view, minority villages, a cablecar and nice walking routes were on our to do list. 🍚🏞️
Longsheng Rice Terraces is actually a group of rice terraces, so you can stay one day or three days and it won't get boring... we stayed two days in a nice guesthouse.
🚍 From Guilin you can take a local bus or a small tourist vehicle, which will be faster. If you're a group, you can also take a regular taxi.
🎟️ Ticket to the scenic spot is around 80RMB.

Guilin: #1 under heaven
Guilin is most known for its tourists hotspots like Yangshuo, Longji rice terraces, Li River,... but has so much to offer for travelers looking to unwind, enjoy outdoor activities and a great holiday. Cycling between the small villages with Bike Asia or walk in underground rivers in one of the many caves, go swim under a waterfall... Guilin has it all and truly diserves it's motto: "the most beautiful place under heaven"

Breathtaking views of Longji Terrace Fields
It takes about 2+ hours car ride from Guilin to Longji Terrace Fields. As private cars are not allow in the mountain, one will need to take the shuttle bus which cost RMB25 to the Longji Terrace Fields. The drop off point is at the viewing deck of Nine Dragons and Five Tigers. From here, you will be able to capture the entire terrace fields and the Pingan village on camera. Longji Terrace Fields certainly warrant to be one of the best scenic sights in China. It’s a breathtaking views from here as the fields resemble the vertical stripes of tigers. Hike down to the Pingan Village to catch a glimpse of the Zhuang ethnic minority. In the village, there are several inns or hotels available if one choose to spend the night. Continue to follow the directional signs (available in English) to the Seven Stars Accompany the Moon, a viewing deck to capture another angle of the terrace fields. The weather was gloomy and it started to rain. The cloud slowly drifting in covering the entire terrace fields and mountains creating a mystical picture perfect moments. Definitely worth the ride to Longji Terrace Fields as it is awesome experience. #hiking #terracefields #longji
Longji Rice Terraces - beautiful day out tasting tea 🌾 #longjingtea #longji #travelchina
The Longji Rice Terraces are among the most impressive I have ever seen! Getting here takes you through the mountains, beautiful valleys, and windy roads. The entrance is free, and the view priceless. My tip is to stay at one of the nearby farm home stays, that way you get an authentic experience and support the local community, it’s a combo that makes for an unforgettable trip :)
This area of China is also located fairly close to Yangshuo, which is a town surrounded by many rivers and karst mountains that seem out of this world, and surely are among my top 3 favorite landscapes that I got to see in China. Have you been? If so, what are some of your favorite places? I would love to know! #longji #china #explore
