Zhujiajiao- a small Venice in Shanghai ☀️☀️☀️
家角古镇
Zhujiajiao is a small Venice in Shanghai.
Address:上海市青浦区课植园路555号
555 Kezhiyuan Lu, Zhujiajiao Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai.
Located 29 miles west of downtown.
The town itself is very simple and elegant. River divides the town into 2 parts: the northern and southern sides.
Residential houses of the Ming and Qing Dynasties line up along the river.
You can find there small coffeshops and art galleries, small restaurants with delicious food, bars, bookshops and many other interesting things.

Enjoy great charms of Zhujiajiao Shanghai! 🍃
Zhujiajiao is an ancient water town located in the Qingpu District of Shanghai, China. The town is known for its well-preserved historic buildings, traditional Chinese bridges, and picturesque canals. It is often called the "Venice of Shanghai" due to its beautiful waterways and charming atmosphere.
Zhujiajiao dates back over 1,700 years, and was an important trading hub during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Many of the buildings in the town date back to that time, and they have been well-preserved, making it a popular destination for tourists looking to experience traditional Chinese architecture and culture.
One of the most popular attractions in Zhujiajiao is the Fangsheng Bridge, which is the largest stone arch bridge in the town. The bridge was built in 1571 during the Ming Dynasty, and is known for its unique design and beautiful scenery.
Visitors can also explore the ancient buildings, temples, and gardens in Zhujiajiao, such as the Kezhi Garden, which is a beautiful traditional Chinese garden with a tranquil pond and rock formations.

Historical building, River and Small Bridge make this ancient town a nice place to relax compare to busy Shanghai city. Sitting by the stream and enjoy some local food is an enjoyable moment too.

Zhujiajiao, sightseeing getaway
Zhujiajiao, an ancient water town is located in Qingpu District of Shanghai. To reach this small town, take metro line 10 or 2 to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and change to line 17. Alight at Zhujiajiao station, take the exit 1 to the main Zhuxi Road 珠溪路. Cross the road and turn to left to Xiangningbang road 祥凝浜路. Walk along this road until you see a bridge, continue to walk until you reach the traffic light. Turn left into Xinfeng road 新风路 and continue to walk until you reach the ticketing office. It takes about 20 minutes or more to walk from the metro station. Alternatively, you can opt for the trishaw ride at RMB20. Trishaw peddler are available at the start of the Xiangningbang road. Admission to the Zhujiajiao water town is free. Fee shall apply if you are keen to visit attractions such as Kezhi Garden, City God Temple, Shanghai Helong Art Gallery, Yuanjin Buddhist Temple, City of God temple and The Garden of Inseparable Hearts. Package is available at RMB40 for 3 attractions or RMB80 for all 5. As this is my first time here, I decided to check out all 5. Before crossing the Fangsheng Bridge and opposite Luckin Coffee, the path will lead you to the Yuanjin Buddhist Temple, Shanghai Helping Art Gallery and City God temple. Cross the Fangsheng bridge to the other side of the river to visit the Keyin Garden and The Garden of Inseparable Hearts. Do take a picture when crossing historical stone arch Fangsheng Bridge as is likely the most photograph site in this ancient town. Plenty of store selling food & beverages, local handicrafts, souvenirs etc on both sides of the river. A nice leisure walk along the river and if you have a group of friends, its worthwhile to rent a boat to cruise along the river. The Garden of Inseparable Hearts and Keyin Gardens are located along the river. Both feature unique gardens landscape, pavilions and courtyard. It is definitely worth exploring if you into architectural structure. As this is a small town, can easily explore this site within 1 to 2 hours during non-peak days. After spending almost 3 hours exploring all corners of this tourist site, I decided to hop on a trishaw to return to the metro station. For those who has half a day to spare, I would definitely recommend visiting Zhujiajiao for a sightseeing getaway. #zhujiajiaoancienttown #shanghai #ancienttown #historic

Ancient town walk with the gang
This time we tried going by metro, taking Line 17 from downtown all the way to Zhujiajiao station. It took us more than an hour ride, and a 15-minute walk from exit 1. The town center was full of locals and tourists, we tried the food and explored shops. It was a fun day when you are out and about with friends.
