The majestic State Library of Victoria
The majestic State Library of Victoria in the heart of Melbourne is a must-visit for any bibliophile or architecture enthusiast. As one of the first sights that greeted me in the city, its imposing façade and domed roof demand attention. Venturing inside, I was amazed by the sheer scale of the place - over 2 million books spread across multiple floors open to the public. The highlight is undoubtedly the grand reading room, with its soaring ceilings and rows of long wooden tables under a glittering stained glass dome. It's easy to imagine the ghosts of scholars past hunched studiously over their work.
Yet the library also manages to blend 19th century grandeur with modern technology seamlessly. While preserving its heritage, there are now computers and wifi access scattered throughout for digital-age visitors. The addition of a children's garden and play area make it family-friendly too. Beyond the books, there are interesting temporary exhibitions to enjoy as well as the fascinating Cowen Gallery chronicling the library's history since it opened in 1854.
Don't miss experiencing one of Melbourne's top free attractions for yourself. Come armed with your camera to capture the beautiful architecture. Pick a table in the magnificent reading room, whispering almost feels forbidden! Wander through the shelves or get lost in the non-fiction depths. With knowledgeable staff, accessible resources, and inviting spaces, the State Library offers a little slice of bookish heaven in Victoria's capital.

Melbourne’s Iconic Colorful Bathing Boxes
#melbournetrip #visitmelbourne #melbourne #australia
It’s winter time here Down Under but that means the beach is not as crowded as usual. It was a sunny 15 degree Celcius and I got myself out to Brighton Beach to check out those iconic colorful bathing boxes! It was relatively easy to get there with public bus, 5-10 minutes walk from the stop, and you’ll get there!
As it is the only things to see at Brighton Beach, 15-30 minutes are probably enough if you don’t need to take photo on each of those boxes. You can head to some cafes around, just make sure to be there before 3PM because the cafes close early.
How to Get There : drive, take taxi, or take public Bus 600, 922 or 923 (pay attention to the schedule though, it only comes every 20-30mins)

🇦🇺Melbourne | Library + Gallery + Museum + Exhibition + Workshops and more…
The State Library Victoria is the best library that I’ve been to. The photogenic part (which is called the dome) is very special and eye catching and the building still fulfills its purpose as a library. There are many books and study spaces, as well as historical paintings. There are also occasional exhibitions. (When I was there, the one was about photography.) There is also an exhibition showcasing the history of books. I feel like the library is also promoting the history of reading as its social responsibility.
There are also workshops for example tote bag design for kids to join so do some homework on its schedule if you’re travelling with your children.
If you have a chance to be there, don’t just take a photo at the dome and leave. Have a walk inside and outside the building to enjoy the display, exhibition, artwork and architecture.

South Melbourne Market - a Vibrant Place
#visitmelbourne #melbourne #australia #urbanexplorer
So you’ve visited Queen Victoria Market, but have you checked out South Melbourne Market?
I personally love the vibes and variety of foods and stuffs sold here. The fresh produce is not as cheap as in QVM but the whole atmosphere makes up for it. I enjoyed walking around the market more than I so at QVM. They also have a nice touch on each entrance: adding “welcome” in several different languages! They sure are going to make everyone feels welcomed!
Address - 322-326 Coventry St, South Melbourne, Australia
Tram 96 stops right beside the market, stop at South Melbourne station.

It’s my first time visiting Melbourne, and I had a really great time in enjoying all sorts of fresh seafoods (🦀🦞🦐 and of course not mentioning the 🦪). You may check out the price from South Melbourne Market as I find it slightly cheaper than others.
The beef is so fresh in Australia and I would like to recommend ‘YOMG’ - Yo My Goodness to all, and the burger is super yum and very filling. The Best 🍔 burger I have had so far😋

Exploring its bustling streets, I discovered hidden gems like the iconic Federation Square and the picturesque Royal Botanic Gardens. Melbourne's culinary scene was a delightful surprise, as I indulged in mouthwatering dishes from the diverse array of eateries, from trendy brunch spots to cozy cafes. The city's renowned coffee culture delighted my taste buds, while sipping on flat whites and exploring its renowned laneways. From the breathtaking views atop the Eureka Skydeck to the charming lanes of Fitzroy, my Melbourne adventure was an enriching experience for all the senses.
Exploring Melbourne's Vibrant Culinary Scene:
#visitmelbourne Embarking on a journey to Melbourne, Australia, I found myself immersed in a vibrant city that unfolded like a captivating tapestry of flavors, sights, and cultural treasures. Amidst the bustling streets and hidden laneways, a culinary adventure awaited—one that would forever etch the memory of indulging in sumptuous seafood pasta.
As I meandered through Melbourne's lively neighborhoods, serendipity led me to a quaint Italian eatery nestled in a picturesque corner. The moment I stepped inside, the air became a symphony of tantalizing aromas, drawing me into a realm where culinary magic awaited. My gaze settled upon the seafood pasta offerings, beckoning me to embark on a delectable journey.
With heightened anticipation, I ordered a plate of linguine adorned with an exquisite medley of treasures from the sea. The presentation was a work of art, showcasing plump prawns, succulent mussels, and tender calamari delicately intertwined with perfectly cooked pasta. As the first forkful graced my palate, a symphony of flavors erupted—an elegant marriage of the ocean's bounty and the pasta's embrace, harmonized by the richness of a luscious tomato-based sauce.
Each bite transported me to a realm of culinary bliss, as the delicate strands of pasta intertwined with the seafood, inviting me to savor the symphony of textures and the crescendo of flavors. The careful balance of herbs, garlic, and the ocean's essence danced on my taste buds, elevating the experience to a true gastronomic marvel.
The seafood pasta was merely the tip of the iceberg in Melbourne's culinary wonders. Exploring the city's vibrant food markets, I discovered a cornucopia of seafood delights. From the briny succulence of oysters to the buttery tenderness of scallops, Melbourne's seafood offerings were a testament to the city's dedication to quality and diversity.
One unforgettable experience unfolded within a bustling seafood market, where I embarked on a journey of oyster appreciation. Each plump, glistening oyster was an individual masterpiece, reflecting the ocean's character in its nuanced flavor and texture. With a squeeze of zesty lemon and a touch of mignonette sauce, I reveled in the symphony of tastes—briny, crisp, and utterly mesmerizing.

Wandering through the city's laneways, adorned with vibrant street art and hidden treasures, I marveled at Melbourne's blend of history, innovation, and creative energy. The iconic landmarks, such as Flinders Street Station and Federation Square, stood as testaments to Melbourne's captivating spirit.

One of the most noticeable building in Melbourne CBD is this Melbourne’s GPO Building which was completed in 1887. It was a General Post Office until 1992, and now housed a huge H&M store with collections spanning from kids, women, men, until home needs.
Definitely worth a visit even if you don’t plan to do any shopping. The building is beautiful!

Queen Victoria Market
#visitmelbourne
It is everyone’s favourite place to go not only the locals but also tourists for all kinds of things you need plus good food and drink.
Fresh seafood such as oysters is a must to have. They are fresh and relatively cheap. Always ask for one dozen opened, squeeze lemon juice on top and eat right away.
Fresh seafood and meat, organic veggies, local produces and homemade food, breads, pies and cakes and so on.
