Believed to be 1500 years old, this temple is situated at an altitude of 1500 feet above sea level. The temple can be reached only after a 90-minute walk through the hilly path. Various forms of Goddess Durga are inscribed on the walls of the temple. Raghunath Temple is another major attraction in Manali.
Manali has a lot to enjoy not only for pilgrims but also for adventure travelers. Mountain climbing, mountain biking, trekking, skiing and paragliding are favorite pastimes of tourists who come here. Deo Thibba Base Camp, Pin Parvati Pass, Beas Kund, SAR Pass, Chandrakhani and Bal Tal Lake are the major trekking destinations in Manali. June to September are the best months for trekking.
Manali is easily accessible by air, train and road. Bundar Airport is 50 km from Manali. There are services to this domestic airport from major cities in India. The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar. It is a distance of 165 km. Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation buses are available for sightseeing.
