Best premium wagyu rice bowls at OMI Malaysia
#freehotelstay
If you are in Kuala Lumpur, you should visit OMI either at Pavilion Damansara Heights or The Exchange TRX…
OMI is famous for their premium wagyu rice bowls… and have been awarded various awards over the years as a testament to their commitment to quality such as the Most Popular Japanese Restaurant in Australia 2022 by World Gourmet, Best Japanese Restaurant 2020 featured by the Age and the list continues….
Head over to OMI Malaysia and choose between a rice bowl or an udon bowl as your main dish, then add-on appetizers and side dishes if you want.
My daughter and I were over at their latest restaurant at The Exchange TRX… the restaurant was of course modern minimalist but stylish like most Japanese restaurants are….
We indulged in: -
🍟Truffle Mayo Fries - shoestring fries with truffle mayo sauce which are really heavenly to taste…
🥓Beef Tataki - marinated & lightly seared beef fillet on a bed of salad accompanied with a citrus- soy dipping sauce!!!!
🥩Ultimate Wagyu with Black Truffle -a generous bowl with ample toppings of wagyu meat slices, onsen egg, edamame, pickles and a squeeze of truffle paste all on the naturally sweet Koshihikari Japanese short grain rice
🍣Aburi Salmon Rice Bowl with Mentaiko…. delicious large slab of salmon cooked to a medium-rare perfection, onsen egg, edamame, pickles and a squeeze of truffle paste all on the naturally sweet Koshihikari Japanese short grain rice smothered with mentaiko sauce!!
🍮Houjicha Crème Brulee
🍰OMI Crepe Cake
🍶Iced strawberry matcha latte
🍸Pear Pazzion
Overall, it was such a satisfyingly good experience and which is highly recommended to all of you who knows how to enjoy a good satisfying meal!!! And I would say the price is pretty reasonably for a premium kind of meal!!

Little Coffee Store in the heart of KL 🇲🇾
#christmastrip
📍Yew Yew Coffee (Chinatown KL)
63-D, Ground Floor, Bangunan Ka Yin, Jalan Sultan, 50000 Kuala Lumpur
Cute little coffee store that is located in Chinatown of Kuala Lumpur! Cozy ambiance, quite limited seatings and space (this café has like a coffee to-go concept instead of chill and hang out kinda spot), but if you love to look at the street views while sipping coffee, they have windows overlooking Chinatown streets which is kinda cool (but kinda sunny too during late afternoon). Love the coffee and croffles! Easily one of my favourite iced coffee in Kuala Lumpur! Ideal spot to stop by and grab a coffee while visiting Chinatown! It’s just a stone’s away from some of the famous stores in Chinatown (Lai Foong Lala Noodles, TREC KL). Definitely will stop by again! ✨

📍Madam Kwan’s, Pavilion Bukit Jalil
Lot 1.43 & 1.67, Pavilion 2 Pusat Bandar, 2, Persiaran Jalil Utama, Bukit Jalil 57000 Kuala Lumpur
A must try restaurant while in Malaysia, serving authentic Malaysian food that you wouldn’t want to miss! We went to the outlet in Pavilion Bukit Jalil, love the interior and the decor, so classy and chic, it’s giving the ‘atas’ vibes! Love the food that we ordered: petai fried rice, nasi bojari with fried chicken and prawns! Food served was deliciously good and flavourful (just like Typical Malaysian dishes: full of flavours!), came in a good portion too! Food was also served warm and quite quickly so that’s a plus point! Anyways, would recommend if you’re visiting Malaysia! ✨

📍% Arabica Pavilion Kuala Lumpur
Lot 3.08.02, Level 3, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, 168, Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur
Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion is the hip and chic café from Kyoto! You can literally smell the coffee aroma while passing by and it’s hard to resist and not buy a cuppa! Love the interior and the mirrors in store which makes it bigger visually! Quite limited space and seats, and they are always full house on the weekends, might have to get the coffee to-go. Ordered the classic iced latte and Kyoto latte. We love it! Strong coffee aroma, smooth and velvety texture! Great caffeine booster after doing all the shopping! 10/10 would revisit! ✨

📍Mori Kohi
11, Jalan Aman, Off Jalan Tun Razak, 55000 Kuala Lumpur
Located at Kuala Lumpur city centre, this café is a Japanese-Western fusion café, but more towards Japanese! Spacious seatings, love the outdoor seatings as it was more airy and chilly. This café is surrounded by greenery, so it’s a perfect spot to hang being in the concrete jungle Kuala Lumpur! Love the space, love the design, cozy ambiance for gatherings! We ordered salmon chazuke which was great! It consists of Japanese rice served with cooked salmon and hot broth, topped with seaweed flakes! It was savoury and refreshing, we love it!

The decorations were very lovely, with dried flowers hanging at one of the corner! Great place for small talks and photo taking session, very instagrammable café with natural lighting from the big windows! Amazing Café for Matcha Enthusiasts 🍵🇲🇾
#christmastrip
📍Niko Neko Matcha 2.0-Chinatown
181, Jalan Tun H S Lee, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur
Minimal aesthetic matcha store located in Chinatown of Kuala Lumpur. The entire store is in white, with matcha bar counter in the middle of the store where the staff prepared the food and drinks. They offered 4 different matcha powder for their matcha lattes which includes Ren, Kiku, Ajisai and Yuri. Besides, there are also hojicha and genmaicha lattes available! I have visited a couple of times and my go to order would be is Genmaicha latte with oat milk? I love it! Its got the umami and strong genmaicha aroma, pairing it with oat milk is just a delight! Oh, love their burnt cheesecake as well, it’s so good! Quite limited space in the café, so you might have it to go. And, if you love it, they sell their matcha hojicha powder and other merchandise too! Tea lovers should definitely visit them! ✨

Indonesian dishes in KL
Address - Spesial Sambal SS at Taman Tun Dr Ismail (opposite D'Cengkih)

various type of sambals with different spicyness level
Highlights - they have 24 variety of sambals with different
spicyness level and you can choose according to your
spicyness tolerance. they have 23 different Indonesian
dishes and ITS DELICIOUS!! my favourite would be their ayam bakar and sambal udang, must try!
Avg. Price per Person - average around RM16+ depends on the set menu
Rating - 4.5/5
the food was superb! i dont really eat spicy food but this
was an exception! definitely must go here if you like spicy
food. restaurant is clean and the food tastes good. you can choose either to other from their menu set or ala carte where you can order any dishes. minus 0.5 because the portion of sambals for are quite little but would definitely repeat. the food here definitely remind me of those dishes i ate when i was in Jakarta

One of the Best Nasi Kandar in KL
I finally tried Mohd Yaseem Nasi Kandar and in my opinion, this is one of the best nasi kandar in Kuala Lumpur. It is located at Chow Kit and is accessible by public transport too. Went there twice, once by public transport and once by car. If you're using LRT, you can stop at Sultan Ismail LRT Station and walk for 7 mins to this nasi kandar place. Parking is quite difficult to find there, hence we choose to use public transport the second time.
There's variety of nasi kandar dishes here, ranging from fried chicken to telur sotong to udang masak sambal and many more. You can also add on vegetables such as fried cabbage, poached lady finger and many more. Don't forget to request for extra gravy or kuah banjir as it tastes super delicious when there's a lot of gravy. Just tell them ' I want kuah banjir '. You can request for papadom too, which i think is the perfectly combination to eat with nasi kandar. Hence, for the first timers, it's very easy and simple to order. Choose your desired protein or dishes, add on vegetables if you want), add the gravy or kuah according to your likings and you can add on papadom! That's it! What makes this nasi kandar different than other nasi kandar place ive been to is the gravy or kuah. It tasted balanced and just nice since it's not too sweet nor too spicy. We Malaysians called it surrrrr.
Price wise, it is quite reasonable for me. We paid around RM40+ since we requested for extra papadoms but still very affordable to me because we are super full after we had our lunch there. There's also variety of dishes you can choose and it tasted delicious too! If you're around Chow Kit and are looking for food, please drop by and try the nasi kandar here.

Eat like locals at Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur
Wanna eat good food like a local? Kampung Baru is the perfect place for you to try! You're surrounded by various restaurants and cafes and all you have to do is choose which one you like. Some of the restaurants that i've personally tried are Rosdet Tomyam and Warung Che Senah.
Warong Che Senah (pic 1,2,3)
Warong Che Senah located in Kampung Baru is the perfect place to chill out with your friends at night. It's a restaurant with vendor that sells various type of food such as seafood, satay, western food, local foods and dessert. We ordered sotong celup tepung as well as kerang bakar and it was good and portion is quite big. Apart from that, you also get to chill with your friends with the Twin Tower view as shown in pic 5 if you manage to come early and good spot.
Rosdet Tomyam (pic 6)
Rosdet Tomyam is famous for their tomyam and seafoods! As you can see from the second photo, it's their famous cockle known as Kerang Bakar that comes with their own homemade sauce. The seafood here is spicy and delicious and taste authentic just like the one in Thailand as i was told the chef here is originally from Thailand.

Authentic Thai cuisine only at Soi 55
#thingstodo Most people love Thai food because of the careful juxtaposition of aromas and ingredients in their dishes where you can taste four prominent flavours in Thai cooking: spicy, sour, sweet and salty!!!! Looking for an authentic Thai restaurant out of Thailand is another thing…. But one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Klang Valley has to be Soi 55
Soi comes from a Thai word – “ซอย”, a term used in Thailand for the word “street”. 55 in Thai is pronounced as “Haa Haa”, often used as a symbol of laughter amongst the Thai people…
Thus Soi 55’s mission is to bring authentic Thai food to Malaysians to enjoy with fun, laughter and happiness.
For fans of authentic Thail dishes, come indulge in your favorite Thai dishes in Klang Valley at prime locations such as Bukit Jelutong, SS15, Solaris, and Damansara Perdana.
