📍Otonashi Shrine, Kochi Prefecture
Otonashi Shrine is located in the Narunami area, deep in Uranouchi Bay in Susaki City, Kochi Prefecture.
Built in 460 AD, the current shrine building was rebuilt in 1663 (the third year of the Kanbun era) and is designated as a national important cultural property.
It is the original shrine of Tosa Shrine in Kochi City, and every year on August 25th (new calendar), the Shinane Festival, a brave summer festival featuring a fleet of boats carrying portable shrines, is held, and on August 23rd (old calendar), an ancient event called Chiriheppo (the great autumn festival) is held.
It is also known as the god of matchmaking, and many worshippers come from all over the country.
