Ice Cream Tentrem, Solo since 1952
I once went to this ice cream shop in Surakarta. It is located at Jl. Jend Urip Sumoharjo No.97, Kepatihan Wetan, Kec. Jebres, Central Java. They sell many flavours of ice cream, i bought Banana Split, it contains vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream with whip cream, wafer, rainbow chocochip, and canned fruit. It is sweet and delicious and they sell an old-type ice cream. For me, it’s a little bit pricey if you go to this store alone, i recommending you to go to this cool ice cream shop with your family or friends to spend some time.

Grandis Barn
The design of the building is quite unique, with the dominance of the use of glass which makes the feel of Europe feel thick. On the outside, there is an iconic spot with the words Grandis Barn emblazoned on it. Many visitors take photos at the place.
Entering the restaurant area, you can order food and drinks at the bar table. Not only that, you can immediately see employee performances here in preparing your dish.
The menu choices here are quite complete because they contain Indonesian to Western dishes. One of the Indonesian menus that you must try is the Green Sambal Leaf Mangkokan Ribs. This dish is rich in spices and without any added flavoring.

DANAR HADI BATIK MUSEUM
This museum is called the Danar Hadi Batik Museum. Located on the main street of Solo City, Jalan Slamet Riyadi. The museum, which was founded in 1967, presents a collection of the best quality batik from various regions, such as authentic palace batik, Chinese batik, Javanese Hokokai batik (batik influenced by Japanese culture), coastal batik (Kudus, Lasem and Pekalongan), Sumatran batik and various types of batik. other batiks. This museum has a collection of batik cloth reaching 1000 pieces and has been recognized by MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) as the museum with the largest batik collection. Visitors can see the batik-making process and can even take part in a batik-making workshop directly. Besides getting the experience of batik, visitors can also enjoy the architecture of a typical Javanese building next to the museum, which is known as Ndalem Wuryaningratan. Ndalem Wuryaningratan was originally the residence of Prince Wuryaningrat, the son-in-law of Susuhan Pakubuwono X. It was built with the concept of a noble residence at that time, with Javanese standards and European architectural influences. In 1997, H. Santosa Doellah as the owner of Batik Danar Hadi bought this building to become the House of Danar Hadi by maintaining the original architecture.

SURAKARTA PALACE
When you visit the Kasunanan Palace there are several places that should not be entered, namely the residence of King Pakubuwono. One of the areas in the Kasunanan Palace that can be visited by the public is the large pavilion inside Sasana Sewaka, where dance and gamelan performances are served in that place. When entering Sasana Sewaka, visitors must take off their shoes and walk barefoot on a stretch of sand taken directly from Parangkusumo Beach and Mount Merapi. You can also visit the museum in the Kasunanan Palace area. There are various royal collections such as chariots, stretchers, statues, ancient weapons and several other collections. In addition to the beauty of the palace building, the Kasunanan Surakarta Palace also offers cultural heritage tours such as traditional ceremonies, sacred dances and music, the famous ones are sekaten and night Suro. Sekaten is a celebration ceremony to commemorate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad for 7 days and on the last day it is closed with Gunungan Mulud. One month earlier, the Sekaten night market was also held in the north square area of the palace. Unlike Sekaten, Malam Suro is commemorating the new year according to the Javanese calendar. This celebration is marked by the Mubeng Beteng Carnival by bringing palace heirlooms including Kyai Slamet's heirloom buffalo.

Amusing moments in Solo
One time when on a road trip from Jogja to Bandung, I briefly stopped in the city of Solo (or it could also be called Surakarta) to meet a friend at a coffee shop. In our short meeting, my friend invited me to go around seeing Solo. There are some interesting things that might also be an idea to include in the itinerary if one day you want to go to Solo! :)
Street Art Mural Gallery along Jalan Gatot Subroto. It turns out that cool murals don't only exist in Australia or Singapore, in Solo there is also a street art gallery that is no less iconic and stunning! Here you can find murals with pictures of famous Indonesian figures: from celebrities to politicians. There's even Kurt Cobain mural too!
Enjoy Dawet Ice in the yard of Kratonan Solo. Es dawet is one of the typical Javanese drink recipes. It tastes sweet and fresh. Ice Dawet traders in Kratonan Solo usually sell from 9 am to 3 pm.
Sekutu Kopi Solo. The place is nice, there are 3 floors and there is a smoking area on the 3rd floor. The signature drink is delicious. I had a chance to try the cookies which my friend said were delicious.. and they were really good! Especially the brownies! :)

Sukuh Temple
Sukuh Temple is one of the most amazing off the beaten track/temple/destination if you visit Karanganyar, Central Java. This temple is incredibly spectacular, and it has sacred ancient atmosphere. Visitors have to use "kain kampuh" (it is available on the counter). Ask for the guide men if you want the explanation of this temple. Indeed, they speak English very well. It is highly recommended. The view is great when you rich the top, the temple keep reminding you that Indonesia's culture is so rich, I keep reminding myself that I'm in Indonesia, because it really looks like those old temples in Mexico 😍 🍂🌟☀️ #solstice #urbanexplorer #summervacation #hikingtrails #historicculture #historicallandmarks

Masjid Istiqlal of Indonesia
#celebrateit
It is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia that can accommodate more than 100,000 people. The prayer hall with a dome-shaped ceiling with a diameter of 45 metres supported by 12 cylinders creates a solemn atmosphere. Except for the time of worship, non-Muslims can also visit from the balcony. In addition, when entering, wear clothes with little skin exposure and pay attention to manners.
Yogyakarta & Solo: A Journey Through Culture and Nature
This trip was a perfect blend of history, nature, and authentic local experiences. We started at Mount Merapi, where an off-road jeep tour through the volcanic landscape was both thrilling and eye-opening. The adventure continued at Hutan Pinus, a peaceful retreat surrounded by towering pine trees, offering fresh air and stunning photo spots.
In Solo, we explored the majestic Kraton Solo (Surakarta Palace), a beautiful symbol of Javanese heritage and royal traditions. For lunch, we enjoyed a serene dining experience at Sawah Padi, where delicious local dishes were served amidst lush rice fields, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere.
This trip was a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and nature, making it an unforgettable experience!

Solo Flame
Saw this as I drove around Solo (Surakarta) on the back of the motorbike so we circled around and stopped to watch it for a while. Very Neat Landmark that I had not expected to see.
The attraction changed colours and patterns and was mesmerizing to watch. For a public art feature it was very neat. Also on the walls around, there were pictures reflecting the history of the area!
KOESLAN COFFEE
Stopped for morning coffee at one of the best coffee roasteries in Solo called @koeslancoffee, home of ICRC and WCRC champ mas @wisnu_aji3. Actually, this place is only focused as a roastery and there is no seating area, but here we can buy single cups of coffee and enjoy it in the back lobby area which is quite cool and shady. There are many choices of local and international beans that you can taste and take home to brew at home.

ALLIED HOME WORKS
Maybe this place will become one of my favorite coffee shops in Solo. The design is authentic with a vintage-industrial feel with a touch of tropical vegetation which makes the atmosphere even cooler and more comfortable. The seating area is also very spacious, there are three floors of indoor and outdoor areas surrounding the coffee bar. The beverages vary from classic coffee to manual brew. Yesterday I tried Magic which was balanced and tasted on point.

WASTUSADA
Manual coffee lovers really must stop by for coffee at @wastusada, a slow bar coffee shop in the city of Solo. The place is simple with a beautiful traditional house concept, it looks even more aesthetic with a touch of minimalist modernism in the coffee bar area. There are many choices of recommended beans for manual brew and espresso based which are made using flair with a taste that is certainly delicious. . Wastusada Jl.
