If you visit Vienna, you absolutely must stop by Café Central! 🎻 This isn’t just any café—it’s a historic spot that opened its doors in 1876 and represents Vienna’s traditional café culture. With its grand Gothic-style interior, you’ll find yourself thinking, "Ah, this is the true Austrian vibe!" The atmosphere is simply stunning. A Place Frequented by Historical Figures Café Central isn’t just a tourist attraction; it’s also famous for being a favorite spot of historical figures like Friedrich Nietzsche, Sigmund Freud, and Leon Trotsky. Waiting in Line vs. Online Reservations Given its popularity, the wait time can be quite long. I personally waited over 40 minutes… 😭 Standing outside the café, I was silently pleading, "Please, people ahead of me, leave quickly!" But everyone seemed to want to linger and enjoy the ambiance. Thankfully, you can make online reservations via Google Maps, so if you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend booking in advance! Austrian Breakfast (€14.50) Croissant + Bread + Butter + Raspberry Jam + Tea I ordered the Austrian breakfast, and to my surprise, the raspberry jam was absolutely delicious. When I spread it on the bread, I thought, "Wow, this is sexy food!" The croissant was crispy yet soft, making it a perfect light breakfast. Since I don’t drink coffee, I paired it with orange juice, which turned out to be a great combination. Cake (€6.90) Since I was already there, I decided to try a cake as well. Honestly, it was a bit underwhelming—too sweet for my taste. (Apparently, Café Central is more famous for its coffee and ambiance rather than its desserts.) We booked a three-bedroom loft apartment, and it was exactly as shown in the pictures—everything was clean and tidy. From the bedroom windows, you can see mountains and lakes on three sides, and from the living room balcony, you can see the village of Hallstatt. The rooms are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and cooking. The owners provide essentials like tea, coffee, salt, sugar, and basic cooking oil. The apartment also has many games, puzzles, and books that my children loved. They also have a sun deck by the lake, which is a great spot for a quick picnic. The apartment is very close to all the places you want to visit in Hallstatt, yet it is very quiet and away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Hallstatt Lahn (bus/boat station) is a 4-minute walk from the apartment, and we had no trouble dragging our suitcases from there to the apartment. There is a children's park 50 meters from the apartment, which the kids loved. Supermarkets and restaurants are also nearby. The owners are very nice. They live on the first floor. They helped us move our luggage to the second floor (where we stayed) and let us use the washing machine (+ dryer) where we washed all our clothes. They even brought some bread so the kids could feed the swans on the sun deck. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Hallstatt.

There are also many installations in the tunnels, like a natural indoor museum, allowing tourists to learn about the stories of the past. Came here for a night whilst solo backpacking. A day for me is enough to see the highlights of Vienna. Night life was okayish to be honest. But sightseeings are so pretty. The architectures are next level and would highly recommend everyone to visit the city!! I went solo and met amazing solo travelers there. I was never alone. One thing that we like the most when we go abroad is walking around convenience stores. We get to walk around and see food, local products, and get excited about things that are different from our home country. This is the charm of traveling abroad. Today, we will take you to Unimarkt. Everything here closes very early. From 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., they start to close. So we have to hurry. There are a lot of products here: vegetables, fruits, bakery goods, bread, condiments, drinking water, soft drinks, fresh food. Simply put, if the hotel can cook, you won't starve when you go to the supermarket. Haha. What about everyone? Do you like walking around the supermarket when you go abroad? 🇦🇹 Affordable Austria This country is synonymous with fans of Mozart or the movie Sound of Music. When you go here, it's like going to Switzerland but a more affordable version. Austria's position is very strategic because it borders 8 countries, namely Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Liechtenstein and Italy. Depending on where your entry and exit point is here, there are several places you must stop by in Austria: Vienna Salzburg (Sound of Music) Hallstat Innsbruck St Gilgen Graz Don't forget to stop by Schönbrunn Palace while in Vienna. Its beauty amazes architecture lovers. Want to sit there for 3-4 hours. The old town in all cities in Austria is very classic..it really feels like you've stepped into the past. If you have more time, stop by several national parks here such as Gesäuse National Park and Thayatal National Park Hallstat needs no introduction. Its attraction is as strong as Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland and is a meeting place for Malaysians. You can have coffee and gossip here.... 📍Rathauspark W (1010 Wien, Austria) I spent New Year's Eve 2020 in Vienna, Austria 🙂 Rathauspark W is home to a massive Christmas market in the winter! On December 31st, they host a New Year's Eve performance alongside the market! Many people gathered here to enjoy the performance, and when I heard they were all celebrating the New Year together, I went to join in the countdown. 🏃🏻‍♀️ Even though I arrived around 11 a.m., it was packed, as expected from a major year-end event. Day 2 #GoingToAustriaAndNotEndingIt Exhausted, aren't we? It's raining, and we arrive home at 11 PM. It's an 800-kilometer round trip😂 from home in Germany, and I'm also hungover from the car heater. I can't breathe, and I have to keep opening the car windows to let the air in. To make the most of the cold weather, today we're going to the Christmas Market in Salzburg, Austria. ❄️⛄️ 🎄 If you're visiting Europe during December, you'll likely encounter Christmas markets. But be sure to check the hours, as each market closes differently, with most closing well before Christmas. 🎄🎄🎄 Recommended Food and Drinks: Don't Miss!!! - Gluehwein: Warm red wine to quench the cold. 🍷 - Eierlikör mit sahne: Egg liqueur served with whipped cream. 🥂 - Kartoffelrösti mit Apfelmus: French fries cut into wedges. Paired with apple sauce🥨 - Bratwurst im Brotchen, bread and sausage, absolutely delicious🌭 - Finally, today I tried the venison salami, which was quite tasty. The peppery flavor didn't give me any fishy or stingy feeling when I ate the meat. P.S. Every glass of gluehwein requires a 2-3 euro deposit, which you can return if you return it. Cafe Sacher〰️ And why does Vienna come to mind? I also had Viennese coffee👍🏻 As expected of the original, there were a lot of tourists as well as locals, so I remember waiting for a long time...! When we went in, we were guided to the second floor seats ❛ ֊ ❛ They said it was a rich chocolate cake with apricot jam, but it didn't taste like apricot jam? It was a bitter chocolate cake!
