Enjoying Leisure and Experiencing the Vibrant Life of Manchester
[Manchester Art] Enjoying Leisure and Experiencing the Vibrant Life of Manchester
🎨 Manchester, a city where dream factories intertwine with classical aesthetics, the echoes of steam locomotives seem to linger in one's ear, traversing a blend of modernity and history, each visit holding new insights. Hongkongers here can also find a hint of home amidst the elegant grandeur of converted old warehouses, savoring the ongoing chatter of Manchester.
Exploring Manchester’s Northern Quarter 🚶🌼, walking from Piccadilly to Ancoats, passing by bohemian alleys, irresistible street art draws the eye, vinyl records curling like hula hoops. The University of Manchester 🏫 appears like a gateway of wisdom, a cultural desert waiting to be excavated, lectures and debates stimulating intellectual encounters 💥.
Art galleries 🖼, with their Greek Ionic columns, silently narrate the evolution of art from the Renaissance to the modern era, each piece a unique creation. Libraries 📚, step into John Rylands or Chetham's, amidst the fragrance of book pages, feel the nourishment of ancient wisdom.
Manchester Cathedral ⛪️, with its Gothic spaces, the ornate curves of the ceilings convey the mystery and solemnity of the Middle Ages. If it's a football match day, Old Trafford stadium 🏟 is a must-visit for the pulsating climax of the trip, the sprinting on the pitch like an epic of heroes.
Don’t forget to rummage for nostalgic records at Afflecks shopping center 🛍, browse vintage styles at Cow Vintage, and check out the diverse collection of items at the Oklahoma boutique. Fred Aldous and Manchester Craft and Design Centre further exhibit Manchester's distinctive artistic flavor.
For dining recommendations, enjoy a relaxing moment at Foundation Coffee House☕️; for brunch, Evelyn's Cafe captures life's scenes under the morning sunlight. Seek out German tastes at Alberts Schloss, and find fulfillment in the structured flavors at Mackie Mayor.
In this trip, every glimpse is a scene from the colorful life of Manchester 🌄. Only through personal experience can one truly understand that Manchester is not just about its steam and mechanical history, but also about its beautiful episodes of aesthetic and cultural revival today.
Old Trafford, Theatre of Dreams ! ❤️
Manchester United ! 💫
Old Trafford is a football stadium in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Manchester United. With a capacity of 74,310. It is the largest club football stadium (and second-largest football stadium overall after Wembley Stadium) in the United Kingdom.
Nicknamed "The Theatre of Dreams" by Bobby Charlton. Old Trafford has been United's home ground since 1910, although from 1941 to 1949 the club shared Maine Road with local rivals Manchester City as a result of Second World War bomb damage. Old Trafford underwent several expansions in the 1990s and 2000s, including the addition of extra tiers to the North, West and East Stands, almost returning the stadium to its original capacity of 80,000. Future expansion is likely to involve the addition of a second tier to the South Stand, which would raise the capacity to around 88,000. The stadium's record attendance was recorded in 1939, when 76,962 spectators watched the FA Cup semi-final between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Grimsby Town.
Watch a match here no matter you are a Man Utd fan or not , the atmosphere here is great ! At least once in a lifetime ! ❤️

The centre boasts almost two million square feet of floor space. It is divided into several areas. The main shopping areas are Regent Crescent, Peel Avenue, and The Dome.
This massive mall offers something for everyone, from high-end fashion brands to popular chain stores for example Tommy Hilfiger, Tessuti, Swarovski and alot more. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants such as Nandos, KFC, Five guys. There is alot of entertainment options to keep you busy when you need a break from shopping. We visited the arcade which was a ton of fun and very big.
When I first saw the palm trees in the shopping centre I was mesmerized, it felt as if I was in another country.

Old Trafford - Theatre Of Dreams
I am a Manchester United fan. Naturally, visiting Old Trafford was one of the top items in my bucket list. Thus, I felt so blessed that I was able to fulfil my dream.
I visited Old Trafford twice. For the first trip, it was during the off season in which I went for the Musuem tour. I still remember when I was walking along the streets of Sir Matt Busby Way, I kept thinking to myself whether I was really there. For the second trip, it was for the Manchester derby against Manchester City. We drew 0-0 against them. It was a pity that I didn't get to experience the atmosphere of a goal scored for Manchester United. Nevertheless, it was a tremendous experience.

It is on the football fans’ bucket list to watch their favourite team live.
We were able to do so just before Covid outbreak when the whole travel industry came to a standstill. This was so memorable experience for us as we were watching the match and the first few cases of Covid reported in Singapore.
Watching the match live is totally different from watching from the TV. We bought the hospitality package from Man U website. Though it is expensive, it is worth every penny. Before the match, you got a chance to tour the whole stadium and walk through the tunnel where the football stars came out. You can also enjoy the lounge before and during match.

❤️ Tim Hortons
Do you know Tim Hortons has their brand new shop at Trafford Park?!
You will find freshly baked donuts and Tim bites. It is amazing, my favourite donut is Cruller and Maple & Caramel. I highly recommend it. It is fresh, soft and yummy. For other donuts, they are also great and full of filling.
I have also tried their burgers and drinks, the chicken burger is fantastic, the chicken is crispy and you can also choose from different dips.
For the drinks, they have wide range of drinks you can choose from, the cold drinks is amazing in this hot summer. We have tried Tim Shake - Maple, Orea Iced Capp and French Vanila.

⭐️ The Trafford Centre in Manchester Trafford area is a world-renowned and one of the largest shopping and leisure centres. It is the the perfect weekend outing for these heat-wave days and take advantage of the air con.
🛍 If you love shopping, then this is heaven for you. It has ALL the popular brands, even the ones you don't usually find the outlets.
🎳 It has so many entertainment areas including but not limited to multiplex cinemas, game centre for bowling, striking cars, 5D shows, etc.
🍴 The food court is one of my favorites. It has a theme of different countries, like Egypt, Italy, France, which is really cool. Another food area on lower floor has gorgeous palm trees and mostly American food joints.

Explore the aftermath of war at the Imperial War Museum North.
Located at Salford Quays in Manchester, the Imperial War Museum North is a unique museum that focuses on the impact of war on people and society. The museum opened in 2002 and is open to the public. 📷
The exhibitions at IWM North not only showcase military equipment but also focus on the impact of war on the lives of ordinary people. The exhibits include precious memorabilia, personal photos, audio-visual materials, and oral histories from 20th and 21st-century conflicts. These exhibits vividly tell personal stories from the world wars and contemporary conflicts, showing how war profoundly changed people's lives.
🌟 Highlights:
The museum's immersive "Big Picture Show" is a major highlight. At regular intervals, the walls of the main exhibition hall become giant projection screens, showing images and sounds from war history, providing an immersive experience for visitors. (I was too busy experiencing it to take photos, so if you're interested, you should go and experience it for yourself. It's much better than photos!)
❤ Recommended reasons:
The museum is one of the most educational museums in the UK and is open to the public for free all year round. Its innovative exhibitions, stunning design, and unique perspective on war make it a must-see attraction in Manchester! It also reminds people of the value of peace!
🚉 Transportation:
Take the tram from Manchester Deansgate-Castlefield station (❌ not the train station, don't confuse it with the train station next door, the tram station is connected to the train station by a bridge) (Trafford Center line) to Imperial War Museum station, then walk to the museum. It's very convenient.
📝 Tips:
❗️ You can take photos, but please turn off the flash. 📸
❗️ The museum is free, and the exhibition hall is upstairs.
❗️ The museum has a café where you can rest if needed.
❗️ Please follow the rules and do not make loud noises.
❗️ Do not touch the exhibits.
The team isn't going through the best of times at the moment, but the Theatre of Dreams is still a place all Manchester United fans must visit once in their lives. Truly one of the very best!
The North of England’s war memorial
The Northern outpost of the imperial war museum in Salford Quays provides and insightful insight into conflicts that have taken place over the last couple of centuries.
Some of the fascinating exhibits on display here include a harrier jump jet, a Russian T-34 tank and part of the structure of the twin towers that was left following 9/11. Every hour the walls of the museum become a base for an hourly projection depicting scenes and stories from modern wars. #voyagevibes

There is a certain kind of sadness as you learn about the war times in the past, but yet it is interesting and knowledgeable all at the same time. Everything in this museum is well laid out, and provides an immersive experience here. Come to IWM to know more about history first hand, it is definitely a great place to visit and you will spend hours here.

Located in Greater Manchester, the stadium has been a symbol of English football history since its opening in 1910. With a seating capacity of around 74,000, it is the largest club football stadium in the United Kingdom and the second largest overall after Wembley.

The Theater Of Dreams!
A dream come true for a Manchester United fan!
Best stadium tour ever!
It's not really as rundown as some people make it out to be on the internet. This was a great place to visit. When in machester, a tour of the old Trafford came up as one of the tours. I thought why not. Our guide Peter was extremely informative and funny. Such a passionate person and clearly a Manchester untied fan.
You are not merely visiting a stadium. There is history associated with it and so much pride. Plus you actually go inside the stadium and look at things. There is also that munic tunnel which covers the tragedy of 1958. The shop sells souviners, jerseys and Manchester United related memorabilia. And an absolutely memorable tour!

Attending a live match featuring my favourite football club Manchester United in Old Trafford was one of my biggest dreams. I realised this trip when I came to Manchester for a holiday. I purchased the vip package to ensure I got the ticket to watch the match. The match was between Manchester United and Manchester City and it was a pity it ended in a 0 0 stalemate and experienced the atmosphere when Man U scored.
