2025 Strbske Pleso Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)

The High Tatras (Slovak: Vysoké Tatry, Polish: Tatry Wysokie) is a mountain range located in northern Slovakia and southern Poland on the border between Slovakia and Poland. It is part of the Tatra Mountain Range. The highest peak is Gerlach, which is 2,655 meters high. Other major peaks in the High Tatras include Lomnicky Mountain, Grachowska Mountain and others. A popular summer resort in the summer and a great place for skiing in the winter, the Alpine Tatras are a great place to visit all year round, and the trails in the Alpine Tatras are marked with distances and estimated times, so it is easy to choose a route to suit everyone's fitness level and ambition. High Tatras was featured in Lonely Planet's 2019 "Best of Europe" list. Lake Strbuske is the second largest lake on the Slovak side of the High Tatras. It is a glacial lake with water from underground springs. It is a picturesque place and a very popular holiday spot in the mountains. It is a great place to come and stare at the lake and enjoy a leisurely time.

Taking the mountain train to Štrbské Pleso is a popular route in the High Tatras, and the train is often filled with hikers. The High Tatras offer numerous hiking trails, and we chose to take a leisurely walk around Štrbské Pleso, a loop of about 2.5 km. The flat trail is easy and enjoyable to walk. Situated at an altitude of 1,346 meters, the lake is surrounded by the peaks of the Tatras, creating a stunning landscape. Unfortunately, the thick cloud cover made the walk comfortable but prevented the lake from displaying its most beautiful blue hue as expected.

#mountainhike Hiking to Bystrá Lávka in the High Tatras was an unforgettable adventure. The trail began at Štrbské Pleso, a serene alpine lake surrounded by towering peaks. From there, we followed a marked path leading us through a lush forest and onwards to the breathtaking Skok Waterfall. The sound of rushing water and the cool mist provided a refreshing break before tackling the more challenging ascent. The climb to Bystrá Lávka was steep and rocky in parts, but the reward was worth it. Standing at the top, we were treated to stunning panoramic views of rugged peaks and crystal-clear lakes far below. The sense of accomplishment made the effort feel insignificant. For travelers, sturdy hiking boots are a must, as the terrain can be slippery. Carry enough water and snacks, and start early to enjoy the hike without rushing. The High Tatras are well-marked and generally safe, but the weather can change quickly, so pack a lightweight rain jacket. This trek wasn’t just about the destination—it was about embracing the journey through Slovakia’s pristine mountain wilderness.

There is a village on the shore of the lake, the same name as the lake, picturesque, for visiting, skiing and healing centers. Come to Strbske Pleso, you can relax your energy, relax, walk slowly around the lake, see the great beauty of nature, take part in skiing and experience the thrill of speed. Very pleasant.
