South Melbourne Market - a Vibrant Place

So you’ve visited Queen Victoria Market, but have you checked out South Melbourne Market?
I personally love the vibes and variety of foods and stuffs sold here. The fresh produce is not as cheap as in QVM but the whole atmosphere makes up for it. I enjoyed walking around the market more than I so at QVM. They also have a nice touch on each entrance: adding “welcome” in several different languages! They sure are going to make everyone feels welcomed!
Address - 322-326 Coventry St, South Melbourne, Australia
Tram 96 stops right beside the market, stop at South Melbourne station.

Popular & Artisanal cafe in south melbourne
#afternoontea conveniently located opposite south melbourne market! Great for taking an afternoon break after you've done your shopping 😁🤩
📍321 Conventry St, South Melbourne, VIC 3205
A more contemporary and sleek looking cafe, code black coffee has a few different outlets around Melbourne but the one we visited was at South Melbourne (right opposite South Melbourne market, convenient for shopping once you're done eating 😉) The food here is delicious of course! But to me personally, the portions are too big! It's difficult to finish your plate + the flavours are more strong, as mentioned very artisanal.

Affordable & Modern studio in south melbourne
Address - 51 Palmerston Cres, South Melbourne VIC 3205
Ambiance/Facilities - studio with microwave & fridge
Highlights - Spacious room & affordable price
Avg. Price per Person - $100/night
Rating : 4/5
Booked this place for my Melbourne trip and it was not too bad. I wanted to stay somewhere outside of the CBD and this place was pretty affordable. The entrance way is a bit shady but the room itself was really nice. The studio was pretty big with a dining table & chair + a microwave and fridge. The bed is surprisingly really comfy and I loved it so much! There’s not much facilities but overall I think its a pretty good location as its about a 10 mins walk to park street tram station, a walking distance to a few cafes and albert park.

Must try melbourne gourmet Sandwiches 🥪😍
Address - 253 Coventry St, South Melbourne VIC 3205
Ambiance/Facilities - Sleek and modern, Indoor & outdoor seatings
Highlights - Delicious wide range of toasties
Avg. Price per Person - $15
Rating - 5/5
This was my first time visiting Hectors Deli & I would 10/10 recommend everyone who's in melbourne to pop by and grab a delicious toasties.
We ordered the beef & pickles (+ cheese & hectic sauce) AND IT WAS PERFECT — The balance of the tangyness and the savoury bits of beef and cheese was out of this world 🌎 It does get really messy so if you prefer something more tame but just as good we also tried the mushroom and cheese. it was juicy and cheesy which is everything you want in a delicious toastie.
Definitely gonna make a visit again if im in melbourne, they have a few outlets like another in richmond too (flagship store)
KOMEYUI Japanese Restaurant - Melbourne
Address - 181 Ferrars St, South Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia
Ambiance/Facilities - Fine Dining Japanese Restaurant
Highlights - Super delicious and fresh nigiri sushi, roll and tempura
Additional comments - Visited this restaurant at their old place and it was very amazing. I came with 2 other friends and all the food we ordered are as displayed on the pics. Those dishes alone however is enough to make 3 fully grown adults full for that day. The roll was very delicious and all ingredients used were fresh. The prawn tempura is very crispy and very delicious as well. The highlight of the day has to go to the nigiri sushi. We ordered the salmon, otoro, chutoro and beef. All of the pieces are made from fresh cuts and you know it’s fresh from the taste alone. They have since moved to a new place at the address above but the taste hasn’t changed at all. Definitely one of the best places for a Japanese Fine Dining in Melbourne
Avg. Price per Person - AU$ 50 - 100 (depending on what you order) (there are also set menus with different pricing)
Rating - 5/5

Melbourne sunset view🌅
A trip to Melbourne
Day 3
Black Friday day
On the way to South Melbourne Market by tram, I encountered a protest
Need to get off and hike to several stations
It was because of this that I temporarily visited the casino I passed by
Got a free lunch 🤣
I ate a lot of oysters🦪 at South Melbourne Market
Fresh and plump is quite good
There are also baked lobster🦞 and mottled bread
After eating, I wanted to leave for Luna Park
But was surprised to find out that Luna Park was closed that day
So switched to DFO Outlet
In the evening, visit Kerferd Road Pier🌅 to enjoy the sunset
The person around me said that this place is really beautiful
The reason is because it's really level and cheap
May I ask which sea is not horizontal? 🙄
The royal photographer took a lot of beautiful photos for me 🤣
Then full of anticipation to eat Fish & Chips
But the restaurant no longer offers Fish & Chips😱
After returning to the city for shopping
Originally booked Wine and cheese pairing🧀 restaurant
Moments before departure found the restaurant closed immediately that day
The power of Black ⚫️Friday cannot be underestimated
Luckily I visited another steakhouse, Rare Steakhouse Uptown
The lamb rack and steak are both excellent😋

The first place to go when you arrive in Melbourne 🇦🇺
When I arrived in Melbourne, I left my luggage at the hotel and went to South Melbourne Market first. The hotel was near Southern Cross Station, so it took less than 30 minutes to walk there. 🚶 The oysters were what I wanted to eat. It's a bit much to eat raw oysters overseas, but I wanted to try different types by myself, so instead of one pack (12 oysters), I got two of each type! They also put lemon on the oysters, but there are 5 or 6 types of sauce in front of the store, so feel free to use them to taste the oysters. I was also attracted by the colorful colors and tried the sorbet! The cold slaw juice was also fresh and very delicious, so please try it! As the cafes are famous, there were coffee shops here and there, and there was also a delicious bakery, so I ended up buying a lot of things! Not only fresh fish, but also fresh vegetables, potatoes and mushrooms are displayed in a way that you don't see in Japan, so it's fun just to look at them. There is also a stationery store, so I thought it was a market that really has everything! Please visit!

Australian Melbourne Lamb Milk Cycle
I gave milk to a baby lamb on a farm near Melbourne, and it was so cute that my heart almost burst. I put the milk in a small bottle and gave it to them, and they drank it while slurping, and I could feel the happiness in my fingertips🥹. The sheep are also good at being handled by people, and when they come near, they act cute, which is really healing…!!!!!

🎉💥A must-see for seafood lovers! Lobster paradise is hidden here🦞✨
Hey seafood experts, today I would like to recommend to you a super authentic seafood secret place - South Melbourne Market! 🌟This is no ordinary market, this is simply a place of pilgrimage for seafood lovers! 🙏
As soon as I walked in, wow! Three unique seafood stalls are in front of you, the most eye-catching one is Aptus Seafood! 👑Their seafood is so fresh, every lobster is alive and kicking, as if they just swam from the underwater world~🌊
And oh, these three restaurants all insist on the original flavor, and you can taste the taste of the sea, so delicious that you won’t want to leave! 😋
Don’t worry, there are still Easter eggs! There is a small and exquisite Japanese sushi restaurant hidden in the market. It is said to be another store owned by the owner of Aptus! 🍣The baked lobster here is simply a top-notch enjoyment for your taste buds. One bite will make you feel tender and juicy, and you will feel overflowing with happiness! 🎉
The most surprising thing is that this place is not as dirty as other seafood markets. The environment is clean and tidy, the space is spacious, and it is super comfortable to stroll around! 👍 Unlike the huge crowds like the Sydney Fish Market, here you can savor every bite of food leisurely. 🍽️
By the way, there is also a deli area in the market, which is shared with the coffee shop! You can eat and drink at the same time and enjoy this rare leisure time. ☕️🍰
Come to South Melbourne Market! Let your taste buds and mood come together for an instant seafood trip! 🚀

Melbourne’s Authentic Taiwanese Cuisine Peko Peko Delicious Food in Pandou
#October Good Places 2024
Today I went to Melbourne for authentic Taiwanese cuisine and tried Peko Peko. Their pork chop bento is super delicious juicy, very satisfying to eat, and there are a variety of small dishes in the bento, the taste is very rich.
In addition, the pork rice can not be missed, the aroma of Taiwanese stewed pork completely penetrates into every grain of rice, the portion is so much that one person really can not eat, completely CP value after eating really have a kind of back to the streets of Taiwan! The feeling of eating bento.
If you’re in Melbourne and miss the taste of Taiwan, Peko Peko is definitely worth a try and highly recommended to try and feel the authentic Taiwanese bento!
Bambu Asian eating house in Taifu, South Melbourne Market
#September Good Places 2024
The Bambu Asian Eating House in the South Melbourne market really disappointed me, the food was not only expensive, but also a mix of various Asian cuisines, with Thai curry, Taiwanese Bao, Vietnamese spring rolls and Japanese fried chicken, but each one Unauthentic, feels specifically for people who don’t know much about Asian food.

Hidden gem in south Melbourne!
This was our first stop after arriving in Melbourne. Drawn to visit St Ali to sample the source of the beans I enjoy regularly at my local in Adelaide (Seven Grounds). This converted warehouse has over 19 years continued to expand, due to its great success in roasting.
Chilli scrambled eggs with ndjua was very savoury and delicious! Coffee is great and they have loads of options. I also tried the espresso martini and I wouldn't order it again, extremely strong coffee taste and a bit small for the price. Overall, I would recommend going there for the food and coffee, just bear in mind it will be pricey.

🇦🇺|Experience the South Melbourne Markets surrounded by local flavors and warmth
#0yentravelautumn
South Melbourne Market was a great place to enjoy the local atmosphere. First of all, what caught my eye was the lively paella restaurant. There was a line of people in front of the restaurant, so you could see how popular it was. The paella made in a large frying pan was rich in aroma, and the moment I ate it, the deliciousness of the seafood spread throughout my mouth, and it was really delicious.
The fresh oysters were also delicious, and I was surprised at how fresh they were. There were a variety of ingredients and foods available in the market, and the locally produced seafood was especially attractive. In addition to food, there were also many cute general stores where I could enjoy shopping. I was surrounded by the warm local atmosphere that permeated the entire market, and it was a very satisfying travel experience.
Must-eat seafood at South Melbourne Market
#September Good Places 2024
It's common sense to eat seafood in Australia! South Melbourne Market has more ready-to-eat seafood options than QVM in the city center, not to mention fresh oysters, recommend Tasmania first, South Australia second, Sydney rock I personally not good (belonging to creamy type)
This issue recommends the seasonal scallop sashimi, fresh and sweet and very big, so good that I encore once. The oily fish & seaweed are worth a try, as for the last scampi and salmon are slightly ordinary and overpriced, depending on personal preference!
Full marks for Melbourne💯French Pastry

Agathe Pâtisserie – South Melbourne Market Food Review
Agathe Pâtisserie is a French patisserie located in South Melbourne Market, famous for its excellent French baking techniques and exquisite pastries. This small stall is always bustling with people on market days, and the aroma of freshly baked croissants and desserts is irresistible. Agathe Pâtisserie founder Agathe Kerr combines traditional French baking techniques with creativity to bring Melbourne food lovers a taste buds' journey through France.
Pastry recommendations:
**Croissant**: Agathe's croissants are one of a kind, with distinct layers, crispy and fluffy, golden and crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and full of rich cream the moment you tear them open. aroma. Whether it’s the classic croissant or the almond croissant, each one exudes a strong French flavor and will make you a regular customer once you try it. Personally recommend the pandan flavor! Not too sweet but tasty!
Overall feeling:
Agathe Pâtisserie's pastries demonstrate delicate craftsmanship and pursuit of quality, both in appearance and taste. The clerk is warm and friendly. Even when faced with a steady stream of customers, he still provides service patiently and is willing to share the characteristics of each pastry. Although the shop is small, it has the warmth of a French country bakery. ❤️
