Wat Pikunthong
Wat Phikun Thong is often called Wat Luang Pho Pae (Phra Thep Singha Burachan, the abbot of Sing Buri province). This temple is home to the largest Buddha image in Thailand, Phra Phuttha Suwanna Mongkhon Maha Muni, in the blessing posture. It is 11 wah 2 sok 7 inches wide and 21 wah 1 span 3 inches high. This temple is highly revered by the locals because Luang Pho Pae, the former abbot, was a monk whom the locals highly respected and loved. He did many things that were of benefit to Buddhism and helped keep Wat Phikun Thong beautiful and safe. The locals commonly call it Wat Luang Pho Pae (Phra Thep Singha Burachan, the abbot of Sing Buri province). Inside the temple is the Luang Pho Pae Museum, which exhibits the history and personal belongings of Luang Pho Pae from the past to the present. On the other side of this temple is the largest Buddha statue in Thailand, Phra Phuttha Suwanna Mongkhon Maha Muni or Luang Pho Yai, which is golden and 11 wa 2 sok 7 inches wide and 21 wa 1 span 3 inches high. Inside is reinforced concrete decorated with 24K natural gold mosaics. Around the main chapel is a covered chapel, which houses Buddha statues for each day of the week and a large Phra Sangkachai statue that brings good fortune. The temple also has a Dharma garden and beautiful and interesting buildings. There are lush green trees and grass, which are pleasant to the eye. The atmosphere is peaceful, shady, cool, and clean. The temple is well-maintained and in perfect condition, making it a great place to visit. There is also a pond full of fish for feeding. Furthermore, behind the temple is a sacred object of the Thai people according to Brahmin-Hindu beliefs: Ganesha, the god of arts and sciences, who is highly revered. Ganesha is very large. Standing majestically in the middle of the water, the body is light brown. The temple has built a bridge for people to go in and pay homage.
How to get there: Located in Tambon Phikun Thong, Amphoe Tha Chang, Sing Buri Province, approximately 16 kilometers from the city center, approximately 9 kilometers from Wat Phra Non Chaksi Worawihan. To get there, take Highway No. 3032. When you reach the 7th-8th kilometer, you will see a sign for Wat Phikun Thong. Drive for another 8 kilometers on Highway No. 3008 to reach Wat Phikun Thong.
