Hongdae Shopping District - It is not a very big shopping place, but there are many small shops here, selling phone accessories, cosmetics, headwear, clothing accessories, and the most numerous are small shops for taking photos, which are too numerous to count! Of course, there are many coffee shops and fried chicken shops, showing Korean characteristics! After passing the first street, you will see a crossroads. You will first see a 4-story Nike store. After walking for another 3 minutes, you will see a basement called Daiso. Across the street from Nike is H&M, and opposite is the New Balance store. Next to it is Tourist customer information. You will see many vehicles coming in and out, as well as many Chicken & Beer shops. Each one is beautifully decorated and exquisite. I spotted a lady walking her squirrel along Hongdae and I was berry surprised. She brought her pet to Aekyung Forest which was just right outside AK& shopping mall in Hongdae. I got curious and went to check this forest. It is part of AK Corporate Social Responsibility to protect the environment. At the same time, providing a clean and nice environment with natural elements for their shoppers. It is very zen and peaceful at the Aekyung Forest and despite being in Hongdae, you can find a quiet environment here. There are no loud noises and weird people around here. There are many AK& Shopping malls in Korea and this branch at Hongdae was recently opened during the pandemic. It has an awesome location, right outside Hongik station exit 4 and 5. Moreover, there is a hotel inside the mall too, Holiday Inn Express Hongdae. You can find out my hotel experience at HIEX on my trip moments. AK& malls are trendy and always have the latest trends. At the Hongdae branch, they even have an art lab (check my Naturelabs trip moment) and an entire floor dedicated to anime. There is also an outdoor terrace on level 17 selling fashion and also a cafe. You can access to level 17 from the walkway towards HIEX. I love coffee so much. Every time i go abroad i always look for new cafe that have nice coffee. Huming Bella in Hongdae are is the best coffee been. I love medium roasted. Cake i sosso.

Most coffee shop in hongdae are gonna open at 11pm. I look forward to great coffee shop nearby my guesthouse, and i found this one. Ice americano is so nice, with medium roaste coffee bean. Cheese is great too. Nice view of green park.

The new cafe ‘Avelop’, which opened on October 1st near Hongik University Station, is a compound word of ‘Art or Advance and Develop’, and is a space (cafe) that contains the meaning of pioneering the future based on past experiences and knowledge. The building used as the actual cafe building is said to be a building built in 1972 by the first-generation architect, Mr. Kim Joong-up. The space that reinterprets this building in a modern way is the cafe, ‘Avelop’. - I prefer to take pictures and work on the same day. (Like the post I uploaded today.) I like to come home in the evening and work on the space I visited today, and upload it to SNS right away. I need to shoot and work as early as possible so that I can capture the feeling I felt vividly in the colors and writing. But since I’m not a ‘photographer’ by profession, I tend to take pictures all at once on Fridays and weekends. I can quickly edit the pictures I took over 3 days, and (compared to the time it takes to write) I can maximize the sense of space, but that’s not the case with writing. As time passes, I forget the memories and feelings in the space. That’s why I like to shoot on the same day and come home to work right away.
