I really wanted to visit Shimantoya. Unfortunately, fishing for wild eels is prohibited in March, so eels are farmed instead, but they were still delicious. ✨ If you want wild eels, we recommend checking the fishing opening date. Shimanto Inn The Japanese-modern space was very relaxing. The food was well-presented and beautifully presented, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had salt-seared fish several times during my stay in Kochi, but this was the best. I also ordered grouper tempura and fried grouper from the a la carte menu (the last two pictures), which were also delicious. There is a spot within the facility where you can see the beautiful sunrise, but unfortunately it was cloudy on the morning of my stay. It is located in a corner of Shimanto City Cultural Center "Shimantopia". In 1999, the former Nishitosa Village Nakahan Elementary School was closed. Shimanto Rakusha was established to utilize the site of the closed school. Shimanto Rakusha is managed and operated by Shimanto City, the owner of the former school site, under the management of the facility. It has been reborn as a nature experience accommodation facility that offers accommodation and experience programs. The purpose of Shimanto Rakusha is to protect the beautiful nature of the Shimanto River basin, connect it to the future, and act as a stopover point for green tourism that aims to revitalize the region. You can spend a relaxing time in the school building surrounded by the Shimanto River and mountains. There are nine rooms for accommodation: classrooms (6 rooms), a health room, a broadcasting room, and the principal's office. The classrooms can accommodate up to 6 people. Since we were a large group of 21 people, we rented 4 classrooms and divided them into rooms for boys and girls! The rooms are on the second floor. Been numerous times now and is always a great time at Laki Lani on the Beach! Roofed kitchen area, lots of space to set up your tent, toilet on site - RIGHT ON THE BEACH. After leaving the city of Kochi, we drove along National Highway 56 towards Shimanto City. This journey of more than 100 kilometers was like riding on the Northern Yi Highway. Although it seemed that I was only accompanied by my own shadow, I never felt lonely during the hiking journey because there were two of us walking together. #japantrip As the name suggests, it is a popular surf spot among surfers. There are days when the waves are so good that once the terrain is decided, I even wind up the tube. I appreciate that the parking lot is large and free. There is also a coin shower which is convenient. However, be careful as convenience stores and restaurants are far away. Beginners should be careful as the current will be strong on days when the waves are big.

#japantrip Visited from Nakamura Station by walking from the station. From Nakamura Station, walk through the city and up to a small mountain. There is a museum at the top of the hill. This museum is built to imitate Nakamura Castle. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the castle seal, but the view from the top floor of the castle tower was amazing. You can see the cityscape of Nakamura and the flow of the Shimanto River. Learn about history and enjoy the views on a moderate walk from the station. It's a recommended place.

The hotel is very new and clean, with complete facilities. There is a Familymart nearby. The hotel has a large parking lot with free parking. There are also bicycles available for free rental.
