I went sightseeing in Shimane for 1 night and 2 days. | Izumo | First, I rented a car and went to "Inasa Beach" and "Izumo Taisha Shrine". 📝 It's recommended to go in November, when the gods from all over the country gather, as it's very lively! This is a shrine I visited while sightseeing in Tottori and Shimane. The highlight of this shrine is the fortune-telling at the edge of Kagami-no-ike Pond. Float a fortune-telling paper on the pond, place a 10 yen or 100 yen coin in the center of the paper, make a wish in your mind, and wait for the paper to sink. It is said that if the paper sinks within 15 minutes, the connection will be made quickly, but if it takes more than 30 minutes, it will take time to make the connection. It is also said that if the paper sinks near you, you will have a connection with someone nearby, and if it flows away and sinks far away, you will have a connection with someone far away. Sakaiminato is the hometown of Mizuki Shigeru, the creator of Gegege no Kitaro. Mizuki Shigeru Road is filled with bronze statues of the yokai Gegege no Kitaro, as well as shops and stations, making it a very enjoyable town to walk around. A pilgrimage to San'in, Sanyo, and Shikoku. I might not be as diligent in praying as I am in Taiwan. In Japan, I prayed non-stop, visiting shrine after shrine. Luckily, I even caught some lingering snow. Visiting Izumo, the birthplace of the gods. The most powerful place for the gods: Tamazukuri Onsen, the sacred street. Konohira Shrine, reached by climbing nearly a thousand steps. Although I visited many of the so-called must-see destinations in Japan, I personally support this: You all must visit Kagawa and the Setouchi Islands once in your lifetime. Highly recommended, but be cautious in winter. I was so tired of riding my bike that I almost froze to death on the road. I spent my time wandering around the small islands of Toyoshima in the freezing cold. I was supposed to return home on the 16th, but I told my friends I wanted to spend my birthday in Japan. So, I stayed in Okayama for an extra day. Thanks to my high school friends for agreeing. I unexpectedly discovered that Okayama Station is a great place to shop and buy things. I probably bought the most anime junk ever. Simple, This round ends in a rather ordinary way. At 37, the gears are turning. Preparations for the next phase have begun. Although I still failed the N1 exam, at least I'm making gradual progress. July 2025 should be here. If I had known I'd learn Japanese again at 30, I'd have restarted my life by starting to work hard in high school and taking Japanese classes more seriously in college. I wouldn't have waited until my memory fades and my collagen levels are depleted. I want to continue working hard to visit all the places I want to see in Japan, to see everything I see in photos. That's probably one of my birthday wishes. (There are probably 20 or so more prefectures.) In the end, it's the same old thing. My high school math grades were in the single digits. #springitinerary Matsue Castle is one of those spots that totally gives you all the classic samurai feels without the big crowds. It’s a beautiful, original castle in the heart of Matsue, and it’s one of the few remaining wooden castles in Japan. The best part? You can actually walk up inside and check out the real wooden beams and old-school interiors, which is kind of like stepping back in time. The views from the top are great, especially overlooking the city and the nearby Lake Shinji. The grounds are peaceful, with a lovely moat and nice walking paths, perfect for a chilled stroll. It’s not as flashy as some other castles, but that’s what makes it special, it feels more authentic and personal. If you’re a fan of history, or just want to enjoy a quieter castle experience, Matsue Castle is a total gem and a must-see in western Japan.

Shimane Izumo Taisha Shrine is one of the must-sees for Japanese people when they first visit the temple. Izumo Taisha Shrine is dedicated to Okuninushi-no-Omikami (the god of love and marriage) It is an ancient shrine with a high status in Japan. It is also listed as a national treasure and important cultural property of Japan. The first thing that catches your eye is four rows of tall pine trees, with the God's Road in the middle and worshippers walking on both sides. Go forward and you will see the Torii Gate. After entering Izumo Taisha, the shimenawa rope in the worship hall caught my attention first (but the shimenawa rope in Kagura Hall is even more massive, weighing 5.2 tons and 13.6 meters long) Because it was the first day of the new year, the worshippers lined up in an orderly manner. After the worship, you can go to the torii gate of the shrine to worship the bronze horse and bronze bull (both are smooth and shiny after being touched by worshippers, and some investors probably believe in the bull market, so the bronze bull part is very smooth to the naked eye) Photography is prohibited when entering the main hall, but in fact, once you enter the main hall, you will be attracted by the solemn atmosphere and ancient atmosphere. Even those who often travel to Japan may not have been there, but it is a place that our friends in Shimane must visit during our visit. Important 1: First of all, it is part of the World Heritage Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. 400 years ago, this old street by the port was the export port and the only way for the silver dug out of Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. Key point 2: An earthquake about 150 years ago caused hot springs to gush out here, hence the name Zhenquan. The Yakushiyu (a Taisho building over 100 years old) on the old street attracts countless hot spring lovers from far and wide. The hot spring house itself is a historical building with a great atmosphere both inside and outside. It is my favorite day-trip hot spring house I have ever had. Even the rest areas on the second floor and rooftop balcony are stunning, and there is free coffee to drink. Highlight 3: Next to Yakushiyu is another cafe (Bieyuan) with the same Taisho style. The interior is more dramatic than the exterior, as if you have traveled through time and space into a social cafe for wealthy people in the Taisho era. The tables, chairs, chandeliers, and wooden ladders are very well maintained, and your hands (shutter) will be dazzled by the beauty. Even the coffee cups (tripped) are antique, and the milk foam with the hot spring logo is so cute. Key point 4: This extremely remote old hot spring street with few tourists has a streetscape that has been maintained for more than a hundred years. Many hot spring hotels, bathhouses, old shops, and restaurants are still in business. Even on Saturday and Sunday nights, the shrine in the old street has Iwami's famous "Iwami Kagura" to enjoy, and I heard that it is also beautiful when lit up at night.
