Things to be careful of at Shanghai Disneyland!
●Things to do in Japan
・Just like in Japan, there are attractions that are closed, so check the app
・Download the app (Chinese or English settings only)
・Purchase tickets (if you buy tickets from an unofficial site, there are early bird and pair discounts) (avoid Chinese holidays and national holidays if possible)
・Scan the QR code on the ticket with the app
*You need a phone number to register, so it's a good idea to do this while you're in Japan
*Some tickets require a passport to enter, and you can only get the QR code after you've entered. In that case, buy an eSIM with a phone number or use a virtual phone service
・Make sure you have internet access (if you've registered your ticket in advance, we recommend the trip.com eSIM, which doesn't have a phone number but can be used for Line and Instagram. It costs about 1,100 yen for 10GB for 8 days)
●Actual experience on the day (Monday)
⭐︎Entrance edition
・Like in Japan, it opens earlier than the official opening hours
・There is strict baggage inspection, but you can bring in food and drink (alcohol shouldn't be allowed)
・Get a standby pass immediately after entering the park (Standby passes are only issued on busy days, so on the day I went, I only got tickets for one show)
⭐︎Food
- Food to eat on the go was about three times more expensive than in Japan (ice cream and popcorn were about 900 yen)
- We brought bottled water and drank a lot at the many water stations in the park (it was summer, so we drank a lot)
- Fast food was about 2000 yen (adding a drink was an extra 100 yen). The portions were large, so we ordered three pizza and gratin sets for four people, which came to about 6000 yen ) (I ate the rice balls I brought with me during the day)
⭐︎ Attractions, shows, and greetings
・On busy days, you have to line up to get into the Zootopia area (there was no line on this day)
・The waiting lines for Zootopia attractions are cute (30 minute wait in the morning, 20 minute wait at night)
・The attractions often stop for inspection, but they start moving after a while
・My number one recommendation is Pirates of the Caribbean, which I rode twice (30 minute wait during the day, 5 minute wait at night)
・You don't have to see the daytime parade, but you should see the nighttime show (if you wait 20 minutes before, you can see it from the center near the merry-go-round)
・It's quieter at night, so on hot or cold days, it might be better to watch the show indoors during the day and ride the attractions at night
・The greetings last about 2 minutes per group
・The turnover rate for greetings is slow, and there is a break, so even if the line isn't too long, you'll have to wait 40 minutes
・Most greetings are outside, so you can see the characters without having to line up
※This is getting long, so I'll summarize the recommended attractions and how to get around separately.
