There are sightseeing buses in the ancient city, 20 yuan per person, which stop when you wave, super convenient. There are also small electric cars that can be ridden by scanning codes, which are suitable for a family of three. However, you have to pay attention to the charges. The first half hour is 58 yuan, and the rest is 1.8 yuan per minute. 5. Best accommodation and immersive view🛏 I strongly recommend you stay in the scenic area. The night view of the ancient city at night is as beautiful as a painting. Wearing beautiful ancient costumes to take pictures is simply stunning. When choosing a hotel, remember to choose one that has been newly renovated in the past two years, so that the room facilities are new and there will be no strange smells. I recommend "Xiex: Wanjia Courtyard" to everyone. It was just upgraded and renovated last year. The room facilities are complete, clean and hygienic, and it is super quiet to sleep at night. 6. Food temptation, Taierzhuang on the tip of your tongue🍗 There are so many delicious foods in the ancient city, many of which are local treasure restaurants. I would like to recommend to you an old restaurant [Hua Jia Di]. Their Zaozhuang spicy chicken, canal green shrimp, donkey meat rolls, pancakes with green onions, canal carp, etc. Every dish is so delicious that you will want to lick the plate. Just close your eyes and wash it down! There are also these delicacies that you must try: spicy chicken (must eat 💥), canal carp, pancakes with green onions, duck egg vermicelli, mutton soup, vegetable pancakes, and yellow flower beef noodles. There are free parking lots in the ancient city. The ladies at the intersection will charge you for parking. Just ignore them. 2. Try to travel light. The cobblestone streets in the ancient city are not easy to walk on, and it will be tiring if you carry too many things. 3. There are 4 entrances to the ancient city (East Gate, West Gate, North Gate, and Small South Gate). Please note that there are no parking lots at the West Gate and North Gate, so it is more convenient to go through the East Gate! 4. When traveling to Taierzhuang, you must make reservations for hotels, train tickets, and entrance tickets in advance. You can’t just go on a whim here. 5. Wear comfortable shoes and don’t wear high heels, otherwise your feet will protest! 6. Try to arrive before 4 or 5 pm. You can have some rest before you can start having fun. If you arrive too late, you won’t be able to see many exciting performances. 7. Shandong Liaocheng | Ferris Wheel Hotel ||| 🦋🦋🦋 I was so excited to check in to a Ferris wheel-themed hotel for the first time. 🌴🌴The hotel facilities are very complete, and there is a bathtub in the room. The rooms starting with "East" have a terrace where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Dongchang Lake. It's just great. 🌵I went during the Qingming holiday. Fortunately, I booked a room in advance. When I went there, I found that it was fully booked. The hotel also has a matching playground. This is not Shanghai, but just a small city in Shandong.

#discoverchina I higly recommend it to someone who love Chinese architecture. It is one of the valuable ancient temples for its famous architecture! Visitor can take a bus no.9 near the train station (the old one) to there by 40 minutes. It takes about two hours to look around. I recommend to hire a guide for brief explanation. It definitely highlight the visit and enrich the knowledge of the ancient architecture. It is a pity that there are not lot of people to visit this temple. The temple was very quiet and we were the only tourist when we got there. We were very impressed with ancient architectural structure which survived over 1000 years.

#discoverchina We visited Qufu this past June and saw Confucius Family Cemetery and Confucius Temple but were too late to visit his mansion. We were in awe of the cemetery, what a beautiful, peaceful place! It was maintained like a park with many people strolling around. In case you cannot walk so far, there is a trolley that you can ride. We could not believe that Confucius' grave was still beautifully kept after two thousand years! There were hardly any foreign tourists but there were lots of Chinese tourists from other parts of the country. We regret we did not have enough time for the mansion. It is a very serene place with interesting architectural elements and not at all what you might imagine the cemetery to be like.

#discoverchina Zhougong Temple (the Temple of Duke Zhou), is the former Taimiao of the Lu State. Taimiao is supposed to be the ancestral temple of the emperor. As Duke Zhou was only a vassal of the Zhou Dynasty, not the emperor, the Zhougong Temple should not have been called Taimiao. But Duke Zhou was with great achievements for creating rites and music, therefore King Cheng of Zhou specially authorized the Lu State（Duke Zhou’s territory）to sacrifice the former emperor. As a result, the rites and music belonged to the emperor were practiced in the Lu State. King Cheng ordered the Lu State to set up the Taimiao Temple after Duke Zhou‘s death. When the Lu State was destroyed by the Chu State, the Taimiao Temple also perished. Afterwards, the present Zhougong Temple were built and expanded six times in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, forming its current scale. It is said that the original site of the Taimiao Temple is where the present Zhougong Temple locates. There are 57 halls, pavilions, gates, and residential area in three courtyards front and back (excluding the collapsed parts in the east and west courtyards), with a total area of 42 acres. Zhougong Temple is now a national key cultural relics protection unit.

#discoverchina The biggest buddhist temple in the city. It consist of many halls dedicated to different saints. You can buy or take for free some scent sticks and follow an easy procedure of praying. If you're lucky enough you can witness the service. Also you can climb up on of the halls, from where you can see the whole city and a beautiful Buddha hall. Especially beautiful on a sunny day. There is a cute little green park at the exit where you can rest before taking a long walk along the nice mountain streets near the temple. There is nothing that might blow your mind but everything to find the peace of mind.

The lake is rippling with clear water. Strolling along the lake, you can enjoy many historical sites such as Lixia Pavilion and Tiegong Temple.
