2025 Sen Monorom Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in April)

Mondulkiri is a province in Cambodia that offers a unique experience for travelers who love nature and adventure. It is the largest and most sparsely populated province in the country, with a diverse landscape of mountains, forests, waterfalls, and wildlife. Mondulkiri is home to many ethnic minorities, such as the Bunong, who have preserved their traditional culture and way of life. One of the main attractions in Mondulkiri is the Elephant Valley Project, where you can interact with rescued elephants in their natural habitat. You can also learn about the history and challenges of elephant conservation in Cambodia. The project is run by a local NGO that supports the welfare of the elephants and the community. You can choose to visit for a day or stay overnight in a comfortable bungalow. Another highlight of Mondulkiri is the Bousra Waterfall, which is one of the most impressive waterfalls in Cambodia. It is located about 40 km from Sen Monorom, the capital of Mondulkiri. The waterfall has three levels, with the first one being the most spectacular. You can swim in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, or enjoy a picnic on the rocks. There are also some stalls selling snacks and souvenirs nearby. #cambodia

This restaurant is easy to find. Once you enter Senmonorom town, take a look at the right sight before reaching buffalo 🐃 circle ⭕️. The outside look is not modern, but many available parking spaces. The inside decoration is simple, yet it’s clean and hygiene. This restaurant is a family lead one. The staff are polite and they serve fast service. The serve Cambodian morning dishes, afternoon and evening, as well as coffee and beverages. I’m really satisfied with the taste there. The price is also acceptable. A popular place for photography. Every tourists never miss going to this place. The ways toward sea forest is good. Tourist bus 🚌, cars 🚙 , Tuk Tuk 🛺, motorcycles 🏍️ can park directly at this location. It’s located on Bay Chav mountain, which allow tourist quests to see the huge far landscape of Forest and mountains( that is why it’s called sea forest). Walking into this place, you will see some regional souvenirs, food, and fruits being sold there. The upstair restaurant is the best place fore siting and enjoy sunset view 🌅. Imagine you are sitting there holding a cup of coffee and look at the thick green forest covered with clouds, how would you feel? 🥰

A resort with variety style of bungalows surrounded by trees and green grass. Very cheap price comparing to others. It’s located inside Senmonorom city, however it’s a bit isolate from others because the ways toward this resort is not really good. They also have restaurant inside, yet it’s very old and not preferable. Whereas the Bungalows look nice and attractive outside, yet the inside decoration need more renovations I think. I love the weather there, also the green nature. I can sleep without air conditioner due to the cold weather . Last, I’m a bit disappointed with the service there, if you guys wanna try, please contact them clearly to confirm your booking and payment.

This resort is very popular for the Cambodians. I know this beautiful resort since 2013, and I always drop there for lunch whenever I go to Mondulkiri. Untill now, 2023, this resort had been renovated much more beautiful and more seats for guests. You guys should try it once. For me, I love the weather there, the sound of natural running water, the big trees, lovely flowers, the attractive location ( under the bridge) and the Cambodian dishes. The bungalows also look nice with unique Cambodian decoration style. Oh, since it is a popular resort, it’s always be crowded during National Vacations. If someone reading this is an isolationist, please go there on weekdays.

Our stay at Ayana Kandara Boutique was amazing. We went there last November and the view there was magnificent. The weather was great, it windy and cold but I loved it.

This resort is just newly opened. It’s located at the top of the mountain. The road toward this resort is fine. I am really proud of the resort design. The big wooden resort design from the flank to the top of the mountain. If you stand at the top , you will enjoy the best surrounding Mountain View. Moreover, if you stand at the downhill, you will enjoy the big great wooden house design, as well as the pool, and forest. Every tourist guests can visit there by just spending 3$ at the gate. This restaurant is located inside KN&N resort. Actually it’s not a popular for people living there. There’re normally tourists guest from other side of the country who stay at the resort loving for meals there. There are Cambodian dishes , European and Chinese dishes in the menu. Some are not available for sometimes. The taste is ok. The chief there is from Siem Reap, so there are similar menu as Siem Reap restaurant. The service is good, yet a bit late because there are not many staff members there. The restaurant design is simply nice and clean. The roof top seats provide you better view. Whereas the price is acceptable like many others resort restaurants.

A private villa resort in Senmonorom, Mondulkiri province , Cambodia. I stayed at this resort during my visit in February. The road toward this resort is nice and surrounded by special view. However, if you are standing inside the resort campus , you will not really enjoy the nature view. The room is clean but the decoration is not my type 🤭. The furnitures look not modern at all. The pool isn’t clean during my visit. I think it’s might be because the grass burning 🔥 nearby. The weather is so cool during November until February. Don’t forget to bring jacket so that you can stay outside longer to enjoy the view and weather. I am a bit disappointed with the buffet breakfast there. There were little menu and they didn’t served us on time. They should had been well prepared for their customer. Guest were standing and waiting for the meals , when one menu dropped, guest need to rush to get it 🤔. One more thing, breakfast has little European dishes.

Bousra Waterfall 📍 HC89+JH9, Pech Chreada, Mondulkiri When visiting Mondulkiri Province, you must visit the famous tourist attraction - Bousra Waterfall, otherwise it would be like you have not been to Mondulkiri. This majestic waterfall is the most impressive one among all the waterfalls I visited in Cambodia. The water and wind are so strong that you will get soaked if you walk closer or stay a little longer. But we would like to remind everyone that it is safer to wear shoes with better anti-slip function.
