This ancient wooden building, before 1939, when Sawankhalok was still a province, the police station or Sawankhalok Police Station was located on the west bank of the Yom River, south of Wat Sawattikararam. It is a one-story wooden building, about 1 meter high under the house, similar to other government agencies. Later in 1939, when Sawankhalok Province was changed to Sukhothai Province, the police station was moved to the east bank of the Yom River, south of the new district office. The original construction site was Wat Luang Khlang, donated by Luang Khlang to the temple. Later, it became an abandoned temple, so it was used as the location of the new police station and has been called Sawankhalok District Police Station since then. This police station is designed to be a hip roof house with a central porch, 1 room, concrete lower pillars, red wood upper pillars, teak wood walls and a teak wood floor. The roof is covered with cement tiles, 10 meters wide and 30 meters long. The construction cost was 7,000 baht. Later in 1978, there was evidence of changing the roof tiles to double-wave tiles and wooden eaves around the building. The search for documents and evidence, including recording stories from the stories of police officers at Sawankhalok Police Station, especially a 96-year-old policeman, made us know about the working life of the police at that time. He said that at that time, there were 248 officers. On the south side of the police station, there was a pavilion. It was a low-rise building with wooden floors. There were no walls, but there was a roof to protect from the sun and rain. It was used as a dormitory and could accommodate hundreds of people. Most police officers who lived in other districts would use this pavilion as a place to rest and sleep.
