Santorini’s gorgeous coastline is best seen from the water. Hope on to a catamaran for a relaxing cruise tour around the island. If you choose the evening tour you can see perfect sunsets. Getting There - I joined a half day catamaran tour and got picked up by a van to go to the cruise. Attractions - 1. Red Beach This is a volcanic sand beach on Aegean island of Santorini. It is known for the distinct red colour. 2. Mesa Pigadia This is a small beach with dark blue crystal clear waters. Take time to admire the beautiful cliffs around. 3. Volcanic hot spring The cruise will stop at this natural hot spring and free to jump into the water to experience it. Food - The crew cooked delicious food for us on board, ranging from grilled meat to traditional greek salad and wine rolls. The way the sun dips into the Aegean Sea, turning the sky shades of pink, orange, and purple, is something you have to see to believe. There’s no entrance fee to enjoy the sunset—just find a good spot along the cliffs or book a restaurant with a view (though prices can be steep in those spots, around €30-50 for a meal). The caldera views, with whitewashed buildings and blue-domed churches, make the moment feel surreal. After the sunset, I wandered through Oia’s charming narrow streets filled with boutique shops and cafes. If you’re visiting, you can also take a day trip to the famous Red Beach or the ancient ruins of Akrotiri, both nearby. Getting Around - You can rent a motorcycle or 4x4, get from Fira to Oia via local bus. Attractions - Famous sites include Three Bells of Fira, the beautiful photogenic blue domes which perfect for photo taking. Recommend doing the Fira to Firostefani to Imerovigli trail on feet if you don't mind walking as that gives you a perfect view of the sea and unique buildings of Santorini. Also, take a day or sunset cruise to go around the volcanic islands and sail on the stunning Aegean sea. Hotels - There are many options to stay that allow you to get a perfect sea view, including Airbnbs, cave hotels and hotels with outdoor baths. Recommend staying in Fira or Oia for convenience and food options. Food & Restaurants - Try delicious greek food, gyros, fresh seafood and greek salads all around Santorini, with many shops concentrated in Fira town and Oia town. Shopping - There are many souvenir shops around, especially in Fira and Oia towns where most shops are concentrated. This time, I stayed at the Art Maison Hotel, where you can enjoy a clear view of the blue domes right from your room 🏨 As a five-star hotel, the hospitality was impeccable, with staff anticipating our needs before we even had to ask 🫶 Not only did we receive a welcome drink, but we were also treated to a goodbye drink, which was a first for me 🩷 The room had a pool with a view of the Aegean Sea, and we enjoyed breakfast in our room in the morning ✨ Located in the heart of the town of Oia, the hotel's central location made it easy to take breaks and explore the area 🥺✨
