Our group trip to Santorini was beyond magical! The island lived up to its reputation with its stunning views, whitewashed buildings, and deep blue sea. We stayed in Fira, which is the perfect base for exploring. One of the highlights was watching the sunset in Oia—absolutely breathtaking! We didn’t need to pay an entrance fee, just found a good spot on the cliffs with a view over the caldera.
We also took a boat trip to the volcanic islands of Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni, which cost around €20 for the tour. Hiking up the volcano was surreal, and the views were incredible. Afterward, we swam in the hot springs—a perfect way to relax after the hike.
Santorini’s nightlife was great for a group—lots of lively bars in Fira. And of course, the food was amazing! We shared platters of fresh seafood and local specialties like fava and tomato fritters at every meal.

Cruising Through Paradise: Santorini Catamaran Experience
Santorini’s gorgeous coastline is best seen from the water. Hope on to a catamaran for a relaxing cruise tour around the island. If you choose the evening tour you can see perfect sunsets.
Getting There - I joined a half day catamaran tour and got picked up by a van to go to the cruise.

1. Red Beach
This is a volcanic sand beach on Aegean island of Santorini. It is known for the distinct red colour.
2. Mesa Pigadia
This is a small beach with dark blue crystal clear waters. Take time to admire the beautiful cliffs around.
3. Volcanic hot spring
The cruise will stop at this natural hot spring and free to jump into the water to experience it.
Food - The crew cooked delicious food for us on board, ranging from grilled meat to traditional greek salad and wine rolls. Of course, there were free wine to go together too.

Watching the sunset in Santorini was one of the most magical experiences of my life! I stayed in Oia, the best spot on the island to catch the breathtaking views. The way the sun dips into the Aegean Sea, turning the sky shades of pink, orange, and purple, is something you have to see to believe. There’s no entrance fee to enjoy the sunset—just find a good spot along the cliffs or book a restaurant with a view (though prices can be steep in those spots, around €30-50 for a meal).
The caldera views, with whitewashed buildings and blue-domed churches, make the moment feel surreal. After the sunset, I wandered through Oia’s charming narrow streets filled with boutique shops and cafes. If you’re visiting, you can also take a day trip to the famous Red Beach or the ancient ruins of Akrotiri, both nearby. The Santorini sunset is truly something you’ll never forget! 🌅🏝️💙

Getting Around - You can rent a motorcycle or 4x4, get from Fira to Oia via local bus.
Attractions -
Famous sites include Three Bells of Fira, the beautiful photogenic blue domes which perfect for photo taking.
Recommend doing the Fira to Firostefani to Imerovigli trail on feet if you don't mind walking as that gives you a perfect view of the sea and unique buildings of Santorini.
Also, take a day or sunset cruise to go around the volcanic islands and sail on the stunning Aegean sea.
Hotels - There are many options to stay that allow you to get a perfect sea view, including Airbnbs, cave hotels and hotels with outdoor baths. Recommend staying in Fira or Oia for convenience and food options.
Food & Restaurants - Try delicious greek food, gyros, fresh seafood and greek salads all around Santorini, with many shops concentrated in Fira town and Oia town.
Shopping - There are many souvenir shops around, especially in Fira and Oia towns where most shops are concentrated. There are many products derived from olive and olive oil that you can buy as souvenirs.

Just got back from the most dreamy couple's vacation in Santorini, and it was everything we hoped for and more! 💙 The whitewashed buildings with blue domes, narrow cobblestone streets, and those endless views of the Aegean Sea were just picture-perfect! 📸 We stayed in Oia, which is known for its stunning sunsets, and let me tell you, they were beyond magical. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange, was the highlight of our evenings. 🌅
We splurged a little and stayed in a cliffside hotel with a private balcony and a small plunge pool overlooking the caldera. Waking up to that view every morning felt like living in a postcard! 😍 One of the best things we did was rent an ATV to explore the island. It cost around €40 for the day and was totally worth it for the freedom to visit spots like Red Beach, the charming village of Pyrgos, and the ancient ruins of Akrotiri. 🚗
No visit to Santorini would be complete without trying the local food. We dined at some fantastic tavernas, enjoying fresh seafood, moussaka, and of course, lots of Greek salad! 🥗 One night, we booked a table at a rooftop restaurant in Fira – the views were breathtaking, especially with the city lights sparkling below us. Although Santorini has been heavily criticized by tourists, with many warning posts, we were still amazed on our first visit to Santorini. Whether it's the scenery or the service facilities, it surpasses all the 'little Santorinis'. This blue and white domed architectural complex built along the mountain has not yet found a city or town that can replace it.
‼️However, the shortcomings of Santorini must also be mentioned:
1. The public bus system is very chaotic, and the timetable is not integrated into Google Maps. However, you can get a paper timetable as soon as you get off the plane, which is generally accurate, with a margin of error of 10 minutes early or late. At popular attractions like Fira and Oia, you won't miss the bus. The roads are dusty, and people drive recklessly, making it unfriendly for non-self-driving tourists.
2. Accommodation in Fira and Oia is generally expensive, with restaurants offering good views costing at least 50💶 per person.
3. It's hot and sunny!
💡In summary, here is a suitable itinerary for summer and some photo spots:
1️⃣ Around 9 am, take Bus 10 from Santorini Bus Stop in Fira to Oia, which takes about 25 minutes.
2️⃣ The classic angle in Oia is the Picturesque Blue Dome Santorini (p12). In the afternoon, it's backlit, and around 11 am, you can take a photo after waiting for about 10 minutes. Walk along the main road of the town to the Windmill of Oia, which is a photo spot for the windmill. Both are in Oia.
3️⃣ Have lunch in Oia and take the bus back to Fira around 14:20.
4️⃣ It's recommended to rest at your accommodation until around 19:00 before going out. The light is good at that time, and the temperature has dropped. Fira itself is not very big.
5️⃣ Half an hour before sunset, you can walk to the I Love Santorini area, where the whole road is lined with sunset viewing platforms.
6️⃣ After sunset, you can slowly walk along the road to Viewpoint Fira at night, where the lights gradually come on during the blue hour.
7️⃣ Walk to the Santorini Cable Car - Upper Station, and it will be completely dark by then.

Facilities include a small outdoor swimming pool and a rooftop terrace overlooking the caldera. It is also located just a few steps away from restaurants, cafe and shops in Firostefani, and a 10-15 minutes walk away from the centre of Fira. For those starting the scenic route from Fira to Oia, you can leave from the back door and the path leads straight to the hike.
A romantic journey across the Aegean Sea
The blue and white dream of Santorini, lost to the world🇬🇷|||Santorini Island is located in the southern part of the Aegean Sea, facing Crete across the sea. The island is formed by a string of three towns: Fira, Firostefani, and Imerovigli. The essence of Santorini lies in its blue and white houses. Whether staying in Fira, Firostefani, or Imerovigli, one can easily reach the cliffside walkway, stroll along this path, take photos, and step closer to the Aegean Sea, overlooking the deep blue waters and the volcanic islands more vividly and closely. The cliffside walkway is about 3 kilometers long, with Firostefani located in the middle, about 1.5 kilometers from the towns on either side. If starting from Fira, the direction is uphill; from Imerovigli to Fira, it is downhill. From any point on the walkway, one can overlook the Aegean Sea, gaze at the volcanic islands, and enjoy the sunset scenery.

The capital of Santorini, a traditional residential area. The town has convenient transportation, with direct buses to Oia, the black sand beach, and the red sand beach, serving as the island's bus hub. The town's alleys are crisscrossed, winding and twisting, with many souvenir shops, restaurants, bars, etc. The old port, cable car, and donkey path are located in this town.

The dazzling jewel of Santorini, the cliffside sea view OIA island boasts the world's most beautiful sunset, where one can witness the stunning scene of the sun setting into the Aegean Sea. There is also the famous blue-domed church, a renowned sunset viewing platform (also known as the fortress), and Oia's unique cave houses with white door walls, blue painted window lattices, reflecting the architectural style of the Cyclades.

Meaning 'the crown of Fira,' it is situated higher than Fira, offering even more magnificent and stunning views. Here lies the famous blue-domed church 'MARIA CHURCH'—a symbolic building featured in National Geographic magazine. The cliffside walkway connects Fira-Firostefani-Imerovigli.
