Andalusia Tour ~ Seville (Region)
The monastery was declared a historic and artistic building of national interest on 10 April 1872. Ronel was built in 1301 as a family tomb and to bear witness to their piety. It was built on the site of a Mozarab church where local legend says Saint Isidore was buried before being moved to the Collegiate Church of Leon in 1063. Until the confiscation of Mendizábal. Every artistic style is represented: the Mudejar style in the Cloister of the Dead and the Evangelist Cloister, the restrained Baroque style in the El Escorial style in the sacristy and chapel, the Gothic style in the refectory and its cloisters style, as well as the baroque style of the tower.
