It was my first time riding a 3rd class train from the original station, Ban Laem, to Mae Klong Railway Station. Since my nephew is crazy about trains, he loves them the most. He wanted to ride and see them, so I got the benefit too. Along the way, we passed houses, rice fields, and forests. To be honest, I was a bit scared, but there is safety. The journey took 1 hour, and the price was 10 baht for adults and 5 baht for children. It was fun. Too bad I didn't plan properly, otherwise I would have brought shrimp, shellfish, crabs, and fish back to grill. But if anyone is interested in taking a train, I recommend this station. ✨ Travel by Train Samut Sakhon From Wongwian Yai Railway Station to Mahachai Station, cross the river to Tha Chalom. We will take you to visit 5 beautiful temples that we would like to recommend. For those who love temples, merit-making, and spiritual worship, you must stop by 💯 🔶 Let's start at the Samut Sakhon City Pillar Shrine or Chao Pho Wichian Choti, Mahachai Subdistrict. It is built in the style of a Chinese pavilion. It is a sacred place and a center of the minds of fishermen in the province. Every time before going out to fish, fishermen must perform a ceremony to worship and light firecrackers in front of the shrine for good luck. Behind the shrine is a Thai-style building designed by artists from the Department of Fine Arts. Inside is the largest and most beautiful city pillar in Thailand. 🔶 Wat Laem Suwannaram, an old temple in Tha Chalom Subdistrict, is notable for its 300-year-old church, built entirely of wood and designed by Chinese craftsmen, so it has a blend of Thai and Chinese art. Around the church are 18 Buddha images, so it is called "18 Arahants Church". Inside the church is the principal Buddha image called "Luang Pho Dam". In addition, there is also Somdej Ong Phra Pathom Phra Phutthasikhi Chakraphat Muni Samputchayanti Sri Sakhon, a Buddha image dressed in royal attire. 🔶 Wat Yai Chom Prasat is located in Tha Chin Subdistrict. It is an ancient temple that is approximately 400 years old. It is believed to have been built since the Ayutthaya period. It is notable for its wooden door panels that are carved deep into the wood with 4 layers, giving it a 3D image. The Fine Arts Department registered it as a national art object in 1962. 🔶 Wat Lang San Prasit was built towards the end of the Thonburi period in 1780 and is located in Tha Chin Subdistrict. It is another temple with stunning beauty. And inside the temple, there are many sacred things enshrined, such as the Buddha image of Luang Por Tan Jai, the image of Phra Maha Kajjana, etc. 🔶 The last temple is Wat Suthiwat Wararam or Wat Chong Lom, located at the mouth of Samut Sakhon Bay, Tha Chalom Subdistrict. There are interesting things, such as the statue of King Chulalongkorn, built to honor his visit to Tha Chalom and establishing the first sanitary district in Thailand, and the temple of Luang Pu Kaew, the former abbot. When he passed away, the faithful brought his remains in a beautiful gold urn, along with a statue of him in a meditation posture. Phanthai Norasing Historical Park is located in Phanthai Norasing Subdistrict, at the place where the incident of the broken prow of the royal barge of King Suea occurred. It was built as a memorial to Phanthai Norasing, a villager from Narasing (currently Pa Mok District, Ang Thong Province), who served as the helmsman of the royal barge Ekkachai of King Sanphet VIII (King Suea) of Ayutthaya. When the royal barge reached Khlong Khok Kham, the canal was very winding, causing the prow of the barge to hit a large tree branch on the bank of Khlong Khok Kham, causing the prow of the barge to break and fall into the water. Phanthai Norasing asked King Suea to execute him according to the Palace Law.  King Suea reluctantly followed the royal decree, so he ordered the execution of Phanthai Norasing, and had a shrine built as high as his eyes. His head and the broken prow of the royal barge Ekkachai were placed as a sacrifice on the shrine as a memorial to show his loyalty and devotion. Inside the park is the Phanthai Norasing Shrine. Later, the Fine Arts Department built a new shrine to replace the old one that had collapsed. Inside the shrine is a life-size statue of Phan Thaksin, who is seen steering a boat and is highly revered by the locals.

If you go to Samut Sakhon Province, a restaurant you shouldn't miss is Jay Chai. Although the restaurant is not fancy, I must say that the taste is very good. This restaurant is considered a famous Yen Ta Fo and fish ball noodle restaurant in Mahachai. Don't miss the Yen Ta Fo noodles. The taste is well-rounded with a slight tofu aroma. Tadee Kitchen, a hidden gem in Ban Bo, Samut Sakhon. The restaurant is located opposite the 7-Eleven at Wat Yai Ban Bo, Samut Sakhon. When you see the 7-Eleven, look to the other side. If you don't pay attention, you might not notice there's a restaurant here. The restaurant offers Thai food, Isaan food, and wild food like crocodile meat, but since we don't eat that, we only ordered Thai and Isaan dishes. Today, we ordered spicy snail curry, steamed egg, salmon sashimi, lotus stem salad, and a unique wild dish, forest larb. Everything was delicious, with bold flavors. Wat Krok Krak is an ancient temple located on the banks of the Tha Chin River in Krok Krak Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon Province. The temple is nearly 200 years old. The tradition of placing black glasses on the Buddha statue has a historical background. Once, there was an outbreak of conjunctivitis in the Krok Krak village. Due to the lack of advanced medical treatment at that time, the villagers, who had long held deep faith in the laterite Buddha statue, prayed for their eyes to be healed, promising to cover the statue's eyes with gold leaf if their eyes recovered. Miraculously, the entire village was cured of the redness. Consequently, the villagers covered the statue's eyes with gold leaf, which eventually made the statue look unattractive. Later, Phra Khru Thammasakhon (Luang Pu Krab Yanawattano), the abbot at that time, came up with the idea of placing glasses on the statue. Since then, the villagers have offered glasses instead of gold leaf, and the statue has been named 'Luang Pho Pu.' This temple is considered one of the most sacred places in Samut Sakhon Province.

The Shrine of Phanthai Norasing is a monument of loyalty, upholding the royal regulations above one's own life. It is located in Moo 3, Phanthai Norasing Subdistrict. The shrine has been registered as a national historical site by the Fine Arts Department, which confirms its authenticity. The site covers an area of approximately 100 rai. Inside the shrine, there is a life-sized bronze statue of Phanthai Norasing holding a steering oar. Locals and the general public highly respect and admire his loyalty, making the Shrine of Phanthai Norasing an important historical site in Samut Sakhon Province. Many people come to pay their respects, especially on weekends. Additionally, it is not far from Bangkok, so anyone passing by can stop to pay homage and seek blessings.

Pantaenorasingh Shrine: A Memorial of Loyalty Pantaenorasingh is renowned for his honesty and unwavering loyalty, even unto death (you can search for his story and history on Google). Visitors to the Pantaenorasingh Shrine often come to pray for success, and many have reported positive outcomes. As a result, it is common to see offerings of rooster statues and boat paddles. Behind the shrine, there is a floating market where you can stroll and buy snacks. Nearby, there is an execution ground with the original execution post from the time when executions were carried out. At the pier, you can buy fish food to feed the fish (there are many black-spotted snakehead fish). If you are driving by, feel free to stop and visit.
