Samut Prakan Learning Park and Observation Tower” is the newest check-in point in Samut Prakan Province. Enjoy a 360-degree view of the city and the Chao Phraya River. The Samut Prakan Learning Park and Observation Tower is located in the former Samut Prakan Central Prison. It is a round-based building with an octagonal center and a cylindrical tower at the top, 179.55 meters high. Outside the building, there are various species of dinosaurs and a locomotive representing the first train to reach Pak Nam for you to take pictures with.
The 2nd and 3rd floors feature the “A Hundred Stories of Pak Nam” exhibition, which tells the story of Pak Nam through modern interactive media. There are 6 zones in total:
Zone 1: Pak Nam in the Past: Take a ride on the Ship Time Machine Simulator and travel back to see Pak Nam in the past, an important frontier city for both trade and defense.
Zone 2: Entering the Frontier City: Experience the atmosphere of the Dutch warehouse district of New Amsterdam, which has a variety of products from various kingdoms at the Pak Khlong Bang Pla Kot trading station. An important trading port city of Paknam and a port city in the Ayutthaya period
Zone 3 Appears as a fortress: Take a walk along the city walls and experience the lifestyles of people of various races and cultures, including the Mon, Muslims, and Chinese, who have merged to form a strong fortress city. HIGHLIGHT is the model of Phra Samut Chedi that is cut open to reveal the original structure that has been hidden since its first construction until today.
Zone 4 Land defense fortress: Experience the battle with the French warships during the crisis of R.S. 112 through the technique of simulating a virtual battle atmosphere. Paknam as a frontier city to protect the capital, a turning point for Siam in changing to develop on a par with civilized countries, especially the creation of the Paknam railway line (Bangkok - Samut Prakan line).
Zone 5 Economic frontier: A green economic city, including the agricultural sector, cultural tourism sector, along with the industrial sector. It is an important logistics center that helps drive the country's economy. The gimmick is telling the story of Samut Prakan through a screen inside the Bodhi tree, the auspicious tree bestowed by the King of Samut Prakan Province, and a transportation and distribution game.
Zone 6 Looking (in the future) to the frontier: A glass walkway, Sky Walk, to see a large-scale model of Samut Prakan city plan. Including a cable car to ride across the Chao Phraya River from Pak Nam to Phra Samut Chedi, and stories of Samut Prakan Province's future in various aspects.
Go up to the 23rd floor, a 360-degree viewing area that offers a panoramic view of Samut Prakan City and the Chao Phraya River. The gimmick is that there are binoculars (insert 10 baht coins) for viewing important spots such as the BTS Pak Nam Station, Fort Phra Chulachomklao, Wat Phichai Songkhram, Pak Ao, Fort Phisuea Samut, Phra Samut Chedi, Ko Sichang, etc.
The observation tower is open from Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on public holidays (closed on Mondays) from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (The "One Hundred Stories of Pak Nam" exhibition accepts the last audience at 3:00 p.m.)
