Mifuneyama Rakuen Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Teamlab: a forest where gods live
If you've been to a teamlab exhibit, you know what to expect. What makes this one special is the location. The park is beautiful with different venues spread everywhere. Some pieces resemble others featured in different locations, e.g. the pound where the carps projections are feels like the one in teamlab Planets in Tsukiji, Tokyo. That said, the location itself gives a different vibe to the pieces.
Wear comfortable shoes and be careful when walking around as the place can be quite dark in some places.
There are 2 gates and one opens 1 hour later, at 20:00. I would suggest entering earlier so you don't have to rush to see everything.
Mifuneyama Rakuen, Takeo, Saga, Japan
We visited Mifuneyama Rakuen in late April. It was so beautiful and relaxing there. A wonderful place for family to visit. I would love to visit again in different seasons.

Kyushu, Japan - A Favorite for Both Adults and Children: Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel
The Mifuneyama Rakuen, loved by both adults and children, is a famous attraction located in Takeo, Kyushu, known for its ship-shaped mountain top and sea of flowers. Cherry blossoms, azaleas, wisteria, autumn leaves... they bloom in succession, making every season beautiful! Especially in May, during the azalea season, the entire mountain top is covered with a colorful sea of flowers, which is quite magnificent and vibrant, making it the best season to visit Mifuneyama.
The scenery is vastly different between day and night, and to fully appreciate the beauty of Mifuneyama, it is highly recommended to stay at the park hotel for a night! Mifuneyama Hotel has collaborated with teamLab, integrating the colorful interactive light installation art ingeniously into every corner of the hotel. As soon as you enter the lobby, you are greeted by lanterns twinkling in the darkness, sometimes pink, sometimes deep blue, making it hard to find the reception desk while you're too busy taking beautiful photos XD
The hotel offers two different styles of rooms. One is the authentic Japanese tatami room with a garden, the 'Old Pine' room type, which is spacious enough to sleep 10 people, with its own corridor and garden, outdoor hot spring, and Japanese-style bedding. You can even choose to have dinner in the room, so comfortable that you don't want to move. The other area has modern Western-style rooms, but with a very strong design sense, offering a contrasting and fresh style that young people like.
Although the Old Pine room has its own outdoor hot spring, it is still highly recommended to visit the public bath, where the men's and women's baths are swapped daily. The public bath also has an outdoor area, and the most special part is the rest area, which is an industrial-style glass building. On the second floor, there is a fireplace for roasting marshmallows, and lounge chairs for enjoying the view outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. A cherry tree is planted right beside it, and watching the pink petals fall into the hot spring pool is incredibly beautiful and atmospheric!
The meals are also impressive. Breakfast is served in the public dining area of the hot spring hotel, and it's extravagant, covering the entire table with a lavish spread! It's highly recommended to visit Takeo, not just for a quick look, but to stay a night at Mifuneyama Rakuen, enjoy the flowers, soak in the hot springs, see the teamLab exhibition, and after checking out, visit Takeo Shrine and the library. Along the way, you'll also be surrounded by a sea of flowers, a truly breathtaking sight.

Omuraya Ureshino Onsen Bijin-yu Lives Up to Its Name
Ureshino is a very quiet town. Just a few steps away, there are footbaths. Staying at Omuraya, you can reserve a bathhouse once a day, and after soaking in the Bijin-yu, your skin really becomes smooth. The owner is a fan of The Beatles and jazz, and in the evening, a drink with a snack costs just over 1000 yen. It's very relaxing. The staff are also very friendly. Recommended! I didn't book the hotel's breakfast or dinner. A 6-8 minute walk away, there's a Lawson convenience store. A three-minute walk away, next to the large public bath, Musashi Izakaya is also good; I had a fresh Imari beef cooked in a ceramic pot with butter. The next evening, I had sushi at Shinpachi, which, paired with the local Daiginjo sake, was incredibly delicious.
In Japan, there is a Kyushu that is not popular for the public. It is located in the south of Japan. Because the climate is relatively south, it will not be too cold in winter. It is a good place for New Year's Day. If New Year's Day can't please take too long. It is a good choice to choose Kyushu in Kyushu. It is enough to spend a night in the wild, and there will be no big problems in time.
It is well known that Japanese tea and hot springs are the most famous, and the secret world of Ureshino is also the magic weapon of hot springs and tea. The Ureshino Hot Spring Street is not big. Its enough to walk around for a day. There is no hot spring theme in the town. If you are tired of the road, you can have a hot spring that you can soak at any time. Sit down in the winter for a few minutes. Warm, the most important thing is free, unattended.
Where can I go in the New Year's Day in addition to running south?
In fact, our neighboring country, the neon country, is really a good place, afraid of cold? If there is no such thing, people have hot springs. For another three days on New Year's Day, please wait for a day or two, or even three days. You can go to the nearest Kyushu.
Kyushu is not as popular as Kyoto Osaka, but it is also very suitable for tourism. It is just a few hours away from Shanghai. It is faster than going around.
Ureshino Onsen is famous in Kyushu and has a history of more than 1,200 years in the south of Saga. It is said that the Ureshino hot spring is especially good for the skin. I also bought a bottle of the hot water of the Ureshino hot spring, which is very easy to use. Ureshino Onsen is also known as Japan's three great skin soups.
We live in the Tangyou Urino Hot Spring Hotel. The environment is very good but the price is moderate. If you can avoid the weekend, you can get it less than 1000!
The hotel will provide a bathrobe and choose the look and size you like.
Because we didn't leave the hotel on the day of the rain, we had a good hot spring.
is very famous for the hot spring tofu in Ureshino. Be sure to try it. The buffet at this hotel is very delicious, especially the steak, hot spring tofu, can't be missed.

Arita Porcelain Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
A gorgeous place for cosplay photos >.<
The Arita Porcelain Park is a small park located in Arita town, Saga Prefecture, Japan. It is a recreation of a traditional German village, and is located just on the outskirts of Arita on the road to Hasami. Unfortunately, Covid outbreak made the theme park looking more lonely and gloomy. Nevertheless, it is still a beautiful park and good for photography. The park has a studio where visitors can try making procelain, even for kids. And it was my first time seeing such a special stepwise kiln.

Slow life, a ceramics in the town of Arita-cho, a day of ceramics,
Saga, is a famous Japanese Arita-producing place. The burning of Japan is the meaning of ceramics. In Japan, there are Mitsuto, Arita and so on. Arita is the most representative ceramic in Japan, and enjoys high reputation in Japan and also represents traditional Japanese ceramics. After I came back, I checked and said that the world's three major ceramics, one is China's Jingdezhen, one is German porcelain, and one is Japan's Arita.

because I like Japanese crafts in Japan During the trip to Saga, I have time to go to the famous ceramics in Arita-cho, Japan, to buy the beautiful Arita-fired ceramics.
There is a restaurant in Arita-cho that can drink coffee and eat a light meal. You can also enjoy a lot of cafes called Arita Gallerie.
In the glass window of the store, there are more than 2,000 ceramic cups of different styles and colors, which are all burned by the boss himself. If you have coffee at this store, you can choose one of your favorite cups for coffee. The prices of the cups range from a few thousand yen to tens of thousands of yen. There is a small secret, generally more expensive cups are placed in the higher window, or behind the cashier clerk. If you like a cup, you can buy it home

Karatsu Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Water Castle Sakura
#cherryblossom2024
"The Dancing Crane"
Karatsu Castle, the main attraction of the city of the same name, stands on top of a hill. Sometimes it is called Maizuru-jo or "Dancing Crane" because it looks like a bird with outstretched wings, topped with a tower resembling a crane's head.
It is interesting
There is a panoramic view of the city from the observation deck
There is a lush Japanese garden around the castle, where sakura and wisteria bloom in spring
How to get there
From Karatsu Station to the castle, you can take a taxi in five minutes or walk in about 20 minutes.
Water Castle
An unusual feature of Karatsu is that part of the fortress rises directly from the water. There are few places where you can see this. The Dancing Crane was built in 1602, completely destroyed in 1872 and rebuilt in 1966. Now there is a museum showing the samurai history of the region, including exhibits of armor and weapons.
Tangjin City is a typical Pingshan City in Mangshan Mountain at the mouth of the Matsuura River in the prefecture of the country.
Dangjin City is the castle of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the castle that was built in the 7th year of the 7th year of the Qing Dynasty (1602). It is said that when the city was built, the disintegration material of Nagoya Castle was used, and the beach where the city is a fortress looks like a crane that spreads its wings, so it is also called "Dancing City". The city masters went through the temples, Okubo, Songping, Doi, Mizuno, and Ogasawara. In the 10th year of Meiji, the remains of the city became Maizuru Park. The Tianshoutai site in the current city pool is in the style of Qingchang, and was completed as a cultural sightseeing facility in October of the Showa era.
The first to fourth floors are places for visiting Tangjin, Tangjin, and experience exchanges. The fifth floor is the most attractive viewing place. As one of the few cities in Japan built on the bay, you can see the beauty of Karatsu here, and the chic scenery on the bay always makes people feel comfortable.
Staying on the railing is my state at the time. Small cars, small houses, always feel good in Japan.
Not only can you enjoy the sea view, but you can also look at the city and fall in love with Tangjin City.
When you go in May, there are beautiful wisteria in the city. Of course, it will be even better when the cherry blossoms are here!
Tickets:
General 500 yen, 250 yen/hh for elementary and junior high school students. If you have 20 or more people, you can buy a group ticket, usually 400 yen for one person and 200 yen for elementary and middle school students.
Address: 8-1
in Sakae-shi, Tsutsumi-shi Ekimae Transportation: JR Karatsu Station Showa Bus 160 yen bus route 20 minutes, bus stop: get off at the Karatsu city entrance , 7 minutes on foot.
Opening time: 9:00 - 17:00
From Hakata Station, take the subway airport line, you don't have to get off the bus, you can get to the seaside town of Tangjin all the way.
This route will run out of the ground floor of Fukuoka and become part of Kyushu JR. This cross-system connection is very magical to me. It is difficult to achieve without fine planning and calculations.
On the way, the train passes by the river, passing by the sea, and there are large cherry blossoms. The camera has been tightly held in the hand, trying to capture a picture of the tree in front of you, but it is difficult!
Dangjin is surrounded by mountains on three sides, facing the sea and facing the scenic Xuanhai National Park in the north.
A few European and American tourists in the same car are also the same destination, Tangjin City.
Dangjin City is at the seaside. The city is very high. If you face the train on the north, you will see the Tangjin City Tianshou Pavilion at the commanding heights of the city before entering the station.
The small town on the beach is very good. Under the blue sky, it is a white dance crane city. In front of the city, it is a powdered cherry blossom.
Daykeeper has two platforms, each of which has a cherry tree. The full time is nearing the end, the sea breeze blows, and the cherry blossom petals, like snowflakes, fall. Paired with red lanterns and the back of the Sea of Japan, the colors are extremely beautiful.
There is a Karatsu city in Saga, Japan, which is the harbor city of the Dongsongpu Peninsula in the northwest. It is on the side of the sea and surrounded by mountains on three sides. Speaking of Tang Jin, the origin of the name is related to China. Tang refers to China in the Tang Dynasty. Tianjin is the port in Japanese. It was the port that came to China during the Tang Dynasty and was doing business with the Tang Dynasty. local.
The current Tangjin City was reconstructed and repaired. The earliest city was destroyed by the war. Walking in the Tangjin City, the probability of seeing the Chinese is not high, and even the local people are not much. The population here. The density is not high, and it feels that the population loss is serious. Walking on the street seems to have passed. Because it is by the sea, the terrain is also high, the wind is very strong, the humidity is very high, and the body is very cold. If you come, wear more clothes.
The traffic is not very convenient, the hotel has very few choices, and it is a first-class hotel in Tangjin that can be regarded as a word of mouth. It can't be put down to the trolley case~~
Dangjin's biggest highlight, other There is no place, it is a squid sashimi. The squid that comes up from the end is still alive. When the lemon juice is poured, the tentacles will dance. It is a bit cruel, but it is really necessary to try it!
Saga Castle Ruins Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Saga Castle: A Historical Scroll, Feel the Ambiance of History.
Stepping into the ancient fortress of Saga Castle is like entering a vivid historical scroll brimming with the spirit of samurai. The rough-hewn stone walls stand tall, marked by the traces of years of weathering, yet they further highlight the resilience and tenacity that this castle has endured through the vicissitudes of time. The narrow stone-lined moat flows gently at the foot of the walls, and above the water, a series of arching bridges soar majestically, adding a broad and free-spirited momentum to this ancient city.
As we stroll along the stone-paved path, the lush green grass and shrubs by the road are beautifully interspersed, with the occasional pure white plum blossoms blooming amidst the greenery, exuding an elegant fragrance that withstands the cold, composing a delightful scene reminiscent of the southern regions. Suddenly, a magnificent and imposing gate tower stands tall in the distance, its extraordinary presence perfectly embodying the enduring elegance and grandeur of this ancient city.
Thus, we walk slowly, feeling the traces of time of this long-standing samurai fortress. From inside to outside, every brick and tile underfoot seems to echo the historical memories of the ancient city that has experienced the ravages of war. Being there, one's heart is naturally imbued with the bold and vigorous spirit of the samurai, and the pursuit and aspiration for life become more resilient and powerful, filled with the firm will of a samurai's unyielding valor.

🏨The hotel we chose is Hotel New Otani in Saga,
The cost performance is very good~ If you are staying in a Japanese hotel for two people, you need to add an extra person's rent,
We added about 150rmb/night at that time,
The twin room is clean and tidy, and the environment is not bad~
The surprise is that the view outside the window is beautiful,
The only drawback is that we walked for 25 minutes after getting off the bus to reach the hotel,
But it's a small matter, this hotel is good, worth it~
Actually, the center of the city is just outside the Saga jr station where we got off the bus,
The restaurants are all concentrated here~
