Our stay in a traditional Dong village in the province of Guizhou was an unforgettable experience that gave us a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of this beautiful region. The village was steeped in history and tradition, with stunning examples of local crafts and customs.
During our stay, we had the opportunity to learn about the traditional crafts of the Dong people, including embroidery, batik, and paper cutting. We were amazed by the intricate designs and the attention to detail that went into each piece.
We also had the chance to experience the local customs and traditions of the Dong people, including their unique architecture and music. We were fascinated by the traditional drum towers and wind and rain bridges, which served as gathering places for the community.
But perhaps the most memorable part of our stay was the sense of peace and tranquility that we found in the village. Surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of nature, we were able to relax and unwind in a way that we had never experienced before.

Dali Dong Village, a place where nostalgia is preserved
Located in Zaima Town, Rongjiang County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, Dali Dong Village is a typical traditional Dong village. To this day, the village's Wind and Rain Bridge, Drum Tower, and quadrangle courtyards are still well preserved. The village is built along the mountain terrain, with streams babbling through it, and the green-tiled wooden buildings are arranged in an orderly fashion.

Dali Dong Village: Take a taxi from Rongjiang County, 100 yuan, it is recommended to leave the driver's phone number, it is very remote, it is not easy to take a taxi back, you can contact the driver. If possible, it is more convenient to drive by yourself.
Village Supermarket: I went to watch the village super preliminaries in the evening. Although it was a preliminary match, the scene was very hot and crowded. I don't understand football, but I will be ignited by the scene.

Recently, many friends have been asking where I stayed when I last visited Dalishang Village? Today, I'll share about my accommodation experience at 'Meet at the Well'.
Their house is very easy to find, located on the hillside at the entrance of the village. If you can't find it, just call and the young lady from their house will come down to pick you up. When you go up, you'll see a well, the well water is very sweet, the water quality is great.
We stayed in a parent-child room on the third floor, which was just right for me, my best friend, and her two children. From the large floor-to-ceiling windows of the homestay, you can take in the entire view of the village, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty of nature. (Remember to close the doors and windows in advance at night, there are more small flying insects in the mountains!)
The room provides hanging ear coffee, water, and drinks in the small refrigerator, all for free. Not to mention the breakfast, which is irresistible! Especially their rice rolls, which are delicious and fragrant, every bite is a taste of happiness, even the children praised them.
The front desk has a warm Dong girl, who also told us that there are village activities every day at 10:00 am that we can participate in, to deeply understand the history, culture, and appearance of the ancient village that has been around for more than 500 years.

The ancient wharf worth visiting
On the afternoon of March 13th, a few days before the opening of the village supermarket, the misty rain was enshrouding. Walking from the hotel to the mouth of the ancient state river wharf, several ancient buildings loomed majestically, beyond imagination. From south to north, the first one that comes into view still has a stone stele inscribed with 'Wuhou Tower', recounting the historical events of Zhuge Liang and the Rong River. The largest entrance by the river has a plaque reading 'Salt Transport General Wharf', from which the scale of this wharf and buildings, one can vaguely see the grandeur of salt transportation back in the day. On the stone foundation beside the wharf, there is a sculpture of one of the Dragon's nine sons, 'Gongfu', a water-taming mythical creature, rarely seen elsewhere, indicating the risks and hardships of salt transportation at that time.
Watching the water flow gently at the wharf, with the misty rain and the mountains faintly visible in the distance, I suddenly felt a surge of emotions. Beyond the rivers and the earth, the spirit of Wuhou still lingers; with the supermarket replacing the salt transport, the glory can come again!
The mouth of the great river wharf, with the natural beauty of the Du Liu River and the grand and spectacular ancient buildings with historical significance, is worth a visit.
