Welcome to Kazakhstan🇰🇿
This is my first post in Trip.com and I would like to share my experience of traveling to Almaty region, Kazakhstan.
The 1st posture is taken in:
📍Address:Kolsay lake 🕰️Business Hours: the best time to visit is around 9:00-10:00 am at summer because it is quite busy after this time. Very beautiful lake in 3 hours drive from Almaty.
📍Address:Saty village : The best way to feel this area gorgeousness is to stay at the closest village Saty. Personally I have enjoyed Kolsay Eco house! It was new, clean and tidy. The third photo was shot there, from the backyard of guest house. We have tried the food in the village restaurants and as a Kazakh native I can say that it was not as tasty as in guest house.
📍Address:Kaiyndy lake: this lake name is literally means “birch” lake. As you can see there is trees in the water. This lake is placed in the remote area in the National park and the driving by yourself is hard unless you have a specially equipped truck that can pass through the couple of little lakes. Fortunately there is trucks in the Saty village. For around 30-40 USD for the whole truck (around 4-6 seats) you can buy their service.
That’s it for the first post! Stay tuned to know more about my trips and Kazakhstan)) Peace ✌️ #familytrip ##nature #localguides
Back to nature at Almaty!
Visit to Chayan Canyon, Kaindy and Kolsai lakes (all within a day trip). Although it is long travelling hours from Almaty town, once you witnessed the nature beauty, it is definitely worth it.
And require to endure some off road adventure of about 30 mins for 4WD ride to Kaindy lake.
And we were lucky as it snowed few days before at Kaindy and Kolsai lakes, hence it seems magical like early Christmas
How to spend 7 days in Istanbul
One of the other places to visit when in Almaty is Kaindy lake. It’s one of the best lakes in East Kazakhstan, you will definitely like it. You need to do some of roaming and two river crossing to reach. This lake can only be reached by a strong 4X4 car. The view is incredible, but you need to hike to reach the lake. It’s worth visiting but avoid in winter.
You can wild came there as well.
Kolsai
Great place to visit around Almaty, one of my top destinations in Kazakhstan. You will have a lot of places to camp and almost everywhere you can have network. Winter are cold, and difficult to go by 2WD. There a lot places to stay, hostels, yurts and hotels. Near village , Saty, is an affordable place for accommodation and good restaurants to eat. You have horse ride or hike to other lakes as well.

Mother Earth, how beautiful YOU are
Taking the road trip from Almaty to Karakol via Kegen/Karkara. The stunning view along the journey is never ending with greens, streams, snowcap mountains and cattle. It always amazes me as in how much more can our earth be so beautiful and unbelievable, awaiting for more and more exploration to put these sights into my memory. What’s more is how these places might have changed colours every single day to bring out their magical look.#awesomepic
This breathtaking landscape is not in Europe, but Kazakhstan!
Just 2-3 hours from Almaty, you can visit this beautiful lake for a one day trip!
Kolsai Lake is famous for its picturesque scenery. You can see the reflection of mountains and trees in the clear water (Photo 1). As you head further inside, passing through the forest (Photo 2), you can rent a boat and immerse in the view in the middle of the lake (Photo 3).
From the viewpoint above, it takes around 10 minutes to get to the base of the lake. There are stairs on the side so it was not too hard climbing up and down (Photo 4) . My 60+ years old parent have no problem walking around the lake. It's a perfect destination to enjoy the peacefulness and tranquillity of nature.

The hike up to Kaindy Lake is an adventure in itself, winding through dense forests, alpine meadows, and offering breathtaking views at every turn. The trail is moderately challenging but rewarding, with each step bringing you closer to the mesmerizing blue waters that await you.
The lake’s striking blue-green color is otherworldly, created by the mineral-rich waters and the submerged forest that eerily stands tall within the lake. The sight of the ghostly, submerged trees rising from the water is surreal, making Kaindy Lake feel like a place frozen in time.

This is not Xinjiang, but I was amazed by the Charyn Canyon in Kazakhstan
Last year, Central Asia travel started to become popular. Many people plan to travel to Kazakhstan, and the first stop is always Almaty.
Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan. Because it is close to Xinjiang, the surrounding magnificent scenery, such as the Altai Mountains and the Tianshan Mountains, is very similar to Xinjiang. Therefore, the scenery here can also be found in Xinjiang, and the scenery in Xinjiang can also be reminiscent of Kazakhstan.
Charyn Canyon was formed by the Charyn River over a long period of time. It is about 80 kilometers long, with a tourist attraction length of 2.5 kilometers.
🚗: It is about 210 kilometers from Almaty to Charyn Canyon, a 3-hour drive. It is recommended to drive yourself, as the road conditions are good.
There are small cars in the scenic area that can take you in and out, but tickets are required for both pick-up and drop-off, and you need to queue. Walking 2.5 kilometers takes about half an hour. It's not very far or tiring, but it is very sunny.
☕️: There is a restaurant at the entrance of Charyn Canyon. The decoration and taste are very good, making it a great place for photos. They also offer juice and coffee, which are worth trying.
⚠️: The temperature in Charyn Canyon is very high in summer, so be sure to protect yourself from the sun. It is recommended to bring a hat, jacket, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

This is not Switzerland, but the mountains and rivers depend on each other, which is particularly healing, and the most important thing is cheap
Kolsai Lake is known as the 'Pearl on the Tianshan Mountains'. Coming here is really like coming to Switzerland. The Kolsai Lake Group is located in the Kolsai National Park in the northern part of the Tianshan Mountains. There are 3 lakes with altitudes of 1800-2800 meters. The surrounding forests are shady, the clouds are lingering, and the lake water will change color under the sunlight: from light blue to rich emerald green... It is really worthy of nature's palette.
After identification, the lake water under the big sun is still icy. I was surprised that no one was swimming in the lake.
Lake Kaindy!
Lake Kaindy, nestled in the Tian Shan Mountains of Kazakhstan, is a mesmerizing natural wonder. Formed in 1911 after a massive earthquake triggered a landslide, the lake's unique feature is a submerged forest of spruce trees, preserved remarkably well due to the cold mountain water. The crystal-clear lake surface mirrors the surrounding snow-capped peaks, creating a surreal and tranquil atmosphere. Nicknamed the "Sunken Forest" or "Kaindy Lake," it has become a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers. The submerged trees rising eerily from the lake bed provide a hauntingly beautiful spectacle, making Lake Kaindy a captivating and otherworldly destination for those seeking the wonders of untouched landscapes.
