2025 Quirino Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in January)
Underrated Province Up-North, PH
Philippines is has lots of tourist spot and they are often visited during the weekends, especially during the holidays.
One of my favourite provinces in the Philippines is Quirino. It is so underrated and isolated eventhough it is kn the middle of the Luzon.
I’ve solo travelled Quirino Province and delighted to share that it did not disappoint from the food, activities and sightseeings.
You can do river rafting, water was very tremendously wavey and we bunch of tourist kept on falling into the water. I’ve never seen such a peaceful place. It wildlife and trees are very relaxing. I stayed nearby the river and there are no signal at all.
Definitely a much needed place to disconnect. I recommend hiring a van or car to go around as the places are far from one another.
Food are great, I wish I couldve stayed longer. But nonetheless, the province is such an amazing place with breathtaking views. They just ran out of ref magnets so I don’t have any souveniers. Well due to the declining number of tourist they stopped producing
December is best time to visit the place. I also visited the Nagtipunan Hill when you can see a river. There is also a cafe on top of the hill. Best to visit is during the sunrise, it feels like you are in a movie or painting by just looking the view. Just wear the comfortable shoes and clothes as you will be climbing stairs.
I’m happy that I get to visit the Quirino Province and I am the only one that I know off among my friends, peers and family whom visited this underrated province.
There are no flights, just looong driver from Manila or in Tuguegarao. Place is perfect for friends who likes to do roadtrips.
Tips:
- Bring cash lots of them
- No cellular signal be ready to disconnect from the reality
- They make one of the best coffees
- Be ready to be amazed and be taken away from the real world.
See you up north in Quirino Province. #philippines #

Governor's Rapid
It's more fun in Quirino. if you're looking for great adventure, try this place.
Governor’s Rapids can be found in the municipality of Maddela, Quirino in a village called, Divisoria Sur. Here, you can go on a boat tour or river-tubing adventure.
Aglipay Caves
Aglipay Caves is located in the Municipality of Aglipay in Quirino Province.
About the Caves: There are 3 caves. The largest one is a short ways up the hill, flashlight provided by the guide will be needed. The other 2 caves are about 100 meters walk through the jungle from the exit of the large cave. The entrance to the second cave is fairly small and the guide will warn you that there will be place where you must "duck walk" to get under low hanging rock clefts. IF you are physically able to squeeze through tight areas and don't mind a little bat guano on your hands, the 2nd and third caves (rarely seen due to most visitors not wanting to brave the small entrance and short jungle trek) are quite amazing. The guide may share some local lore about a treasure myth regarding Spanish gold dug up in the 1980's (lore only - but fun story). Otherwise, many bats, stalactites etc.
