A quiet neighborhood with a vintage feel that I discovered while traveling in Hanoi, Ta Hoi (West Lake)
It was a quiet neighborhood surrounding a lake, but rather than being crowded with tourists, it was full of locals enjoying their leisure time!
In particular, there were many emotional restaurants and cafes, so I was busy visiting them all
If you go to Hanoi, Vietnam, be sure to visit the West Lake area❤️

Drop Button Coffee
Stepping inside feels like entering a coffee atelier. Soft industrial textures, pastel palettes, and arched brickwork set a warm yet airy tone. The two-story layout, paired with a peaceful outdoor courtyard, makes it ideal for both social gatherings and introspective afternoons. From digital nomads to couples on quiet dates, it draws a mixed but equally stylish crowd.
The beverage menu showcases a playful variety of coffee, matcha, and specialty drinks. Their cookie-inspired iced coffee is a conversation starter—sweet, textured, and surprisingly bold. For something lighter, the matcha Oreo frappuccino hits a perfect balance between creamy and earthy. Those looking for something fizzy will love the signature cherry Coke blend, which adds a tangy twist to the usual café lineup. Snack-wise, think honey butter toast or Myeonglan baguette with salted pollack roe—a nod to Seoul’s trendy café fare.
Drop Button Coffee, situated at No.677 Lạc Long Quân Street, Tây Hồ District, Hà Nội, is more than just a café—it’s a destination that blends Korean minimalism with local sensibility. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the space offers a refreshing escape for those who crave calm, creativity, and a touch of curated charm.
What sets Drop Button apart is its attention to vibe. It doesn’t just serve drinks—it curates an atmosphere. The lighting, playlist, and every corner seem designed with feeling in mind. It’s the kind of place where time stretches, and coffee becomes more than a caffeine fix—it becomes a mood.

ĐỒ cafe
Little is publicly known about ĐỒ—which only adds to its allure—but one thing’s for sure: it doesn’t try to explain itself. The building sits modestly between local homes and trendier spots, its façade clean and unassuming. But step inside and you're likely to find a hybrid space that blends art, lifestyle, and slow living. It might be part café, part concept store, part gallery—or all three at once. Think poured concrete, natural textures, curated lighting, and perhaps a quiet bench facing a single potted tree.
ĐỒ, located at 268 Nghi Tàm, Tây Hồ, Hà Nội, is an enigmatic new addition to Hanoi’s creative café and design landscape—where minimalism meets mystique. The name alone, short and declarative, sparks curiosity. Tucked along a street that borders the calm of West Lake and the pulse of Hanoi’s urban edge, this space feels like a deliberate invitation to slow down and observe.
This is not the kind of place with loud music or Instagram backdrops. ĐỒ feels like an anti-café café, where intentional stillness and aesthetic restraint make just as much of a statement as a flashy menu ever could. If there are drinks, they likely lean toward pour-over coffee, floral tea infusions, and subtle seasonal blends served in handcrafted ceramics.

🇻🇳 West Lake Walk: How I Circled the Largest Lake in Hanoi 🚶♂️
Today I decided to go on a proper city walk and made it all the way around West Lake (Tay Ho) — the largest lake in Hanoi. And let me tell you, it was over 10 kilometers of urban mindfulness in motion.
🔄 Why You Should Do It at Least Once
1. Because West Lake is Hanoi without the rush. No Old Quarter chaos, less noise, more space and calm.
2. Because every turn reveals a new vibe — from luxury villas and cozy cafés to quiet temples and peaceful waterside corners.
3. Because it’s a great way to see a different side of the city — raw and real, with joggers, monks, elderly locals feeding the fish, and daily life unfolding in slow motion.
🥥 What You’ll Find Along the Way
📍 Tons of charming cafés where you can take a break and enjoy egg coffee with a lake view.
📍 Hidden pagodas and small temples — I stumbled upon one mid-ceremony and stood there in total silence, just absorbing the moment.
📍 Benches, fishermen, waterside paths, even outdoor gyms — life by the lake moves gently and unhurriedly.
🏃♂️ Tips if You Want to Walk the Whole Loop:
🔹 Mornings are best — cooler, quieter, and more refreshing.
🔹 Bring water and wear good shoes — the distance is no joke.
🔹 Don’t rush it — go slow, pause often, watch, feel, breathe.
This walk didn’t just add steps to my daily count — it gave me time to think, reflect, and just be. Sometimes, it’s the simplest journeys that leave the deepest impressions.

MONETE CAFE
#favouritecafe
Monete Cafe is a small cafe with a garden designed in European style. The space of the shop is not too large and the tables and chairs are arranged close together, making me feel a bit cramped. However, I have to admit that the shop is beautiful, just raise your camera and you will have beautiful photos with beautiful angles to live virtual. The shop has a small second floor with a beautiful view of West Lake. There is a breath of fresh air in Nhim Hyn, so you can sit and enjoy the lake breeze The shop has a lovely dog, very close to you but it often drinks milk so it is often very dry.
Add Monete to the list of cafes to visit this Tet holiday
The menu is quite diverse with many options, I tried the whole leaf milk tea and it was quite delicious. The homemade pearls are quite big, a bit like the pearls at Phe La, combined with the whole leaf milk tea is very suitable.

NAGOCHA MATCHA SPECIALTY & TEA HOUSE
#favouritecafe
I was planning to go to Nha Trang to try Matcha Specialty, but the shop went to Hanoi. Nagocha specializes in matcha products, a place that not only serves drinks but also shares knowledge about matcha with you. The shop has two spacious floors, decorated according to the Japanese concept, because it is still in the process of completion, some corners are still a bit empty. The shop has a view straight to West Lake, so chill, I love this vibe.
In addition to using "premium" matcha products, you will be guided on how to mix matcha, choose a bowl, in general, it is no different from participating in a workshop. I chose the Samidori line with a creamy aftertaste, it was my first time experiencing high-quality matcha so I was a bit confused, I don't have much knowledge to review, so I think everyone should come and experience it to learn more information.

⏰ 9:30 - 20:30 (closed on Sunday from 18:30)
The Butterman - a cute bakery now has seats for customers who want to enjoy at the shop.
With delicious cakes, reasonable prices, free tea, the shop will soon update the drink menu so that customers have more choices.
I ordered Tiramisu crepe and canelé, they were quite okay

Sweet as you
#100waysoftravel The new cafe has a more interesting and interesting entrance with a “grandiose inside” invested bar
Sweet As with white tones, the bar stands out and is the highlight of the shop. And to get inside, you will go through a “small path” and visit the coffee roaster placed in the glass wall.
Although it is a roasters model, the menu is quite diverse, with tea, coffee and ice cream. I was a bit surprised by the menu price because it is only about 50k but the quantity and quality of the drinks are quite good. Beautiful lighting, clean background, modern design so taking pictures is ok

𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐄 Coffee & Billiard
Welcome Christmas with a brand new cafe on Thuy Khue Street
📍476 Thuy Khue, Tay Ho, Hanoi
⏰ 07:00-23:00
💸 from 40ca
Wandering to West Lake, I discovered a brand new white-tone cafe on Thuy Khue Street. The cafe has a chill garden in front, the inside is extremely luxurious in white, I heard the cafe decorated itself and it's so pretty ~~ The cafe on the 1st floor is super spacious, there's even a VIP room for playing billiards, the 2nd floor is a room reserved for real players. There's also a f.ree play area for kids, and a separate, quiet statue painting area.
The drinks and cakes are quite to my taste, rcm egg cream milk tea, ladies. The price is cheap, let's go to WHITE to welcome Christmas ❤️

HYPA CAFE
I came to Hypa because I saw an advertisement featuring cats. The first day I visited on Monday coincided with the cat's day off, so I had to move to the next day to visit the children. Cats here will be divided into "work hours" in shifts - in the morning are big cats, in the afternoon are small cats (At noon the babies will have a break to eat and drink). There aren't many cats here, but surprisingly, all of them are fat, smooth-haired, and very affectionate (at least the two cats I played with were like that). The shop space has two floors, the first floor is a bit dark and secretive, the second floor is brighter thanks to glass doors that let in sunlight. I don't rate the space too highly, but because I like cats, I still give the restaurant points hehe =)) At Hypa, there is also a spa service for cats.
☕️ The two times I've been there, I've used all kinds of tea (because every day I've been there has been a hot day). Wild myrtle tea and kiwi apple tea are two dishes I tried. Those who like sour taste should choose sim tea and those who like a cool and sweet taste should choose kiwi apple.

#MayTravelSupportEvent
It feels like eating in a secret space.
Every single menu item you order is so delicious that I want to keep it to myself.
Special snail dish! It tastes just like the one I had in France.
After that, I was curious about other menu items so I ordered them one by one, and even the common bread did not disappoint us.
The staff is very friendly and it is a restaurant where you don't regret spending money.

It seems like a must-visit course for group tours, as there are a lot of group guests.
Reservations are a must!
There are a variety of foods, and most of the foods you should try in Vietnam are available, and you can eat the buffet within 3 hours.
All drinks, including water, are paid.
It's worth going at least once.

[Hanoi] A cafe that feels like it's from the world of Arrietty
One Day at a Time has terrace seats lined up in a garden that looks like something out of Arrietty's world.
It's a little far from the city center, but the terrace seats are very popular with local girls and tourists alike, and many customers give up taking photos!
We stuck around for about two hours, but there were many Vietnamese people lingering with their laptops open, so we ended up not being able to take a photo of the whole terrace.
On the other hand, it's a comfortable cafe with an atmosphere where you can stay for a long time, and the staff are kind and friendly.
The drinks we ordered were:
•Oolong tea with hibiscus & orange juice
•Oolong tea with hibiscus & berries
