Visit Trulli of Alberobello with us
Appreciate @valentinoselis for showing us the most photographic heritage in southern Italy.👏
Trulli of Alberobello, the limestone dwellings found in the southern Italian 🇮🇹 region of Puglia, is a thousand years old architecture technique still in use in the area. Though they can be found along the Itria Valley, Trulli of Alberobello is the best-preserved example 🙌.
Trulli is the traditional dry-stone hut with a corbelled roof. They are temporary field shelters, storehouses and permanent residences for landowners or farmers.
🧐You may notice the painting on the roofs. They are religious practices whose purpose is to protect residents and properties from evil spirits or bad luck.🛡
