Zhoushan | Visit museums on rainy days
We didn't choose the right day to visit Zhoushan. It was rainy, so we couldn't go to Mount Putuo or Dongji Island. We had to find some indoor activities on Zhoushan Island.
First stop: Breakfast at the Harbour International Hotel
I have to say, the hotel breakfast was very rich and delicious, which cured my mood affected by the rainy weather.
Second stop: Zhoushan Museum
This area is full of cultural exhibition halls, including Zhoushan Museum, Zhoushan Urban Planning and Development Museum, Zhoushan Library, and Art Museum.
The first venue we chose was the museum, which is free of charge. Parking is CNY 5/hour. The museum has three floors. It is divided into several sections to introduce Zhoushan: natural resources, ancient cultural relics, modern stories, and modern development. The first floor is the natural resources section, with a special oil painting exhibition. The second floor is ancient cultural relics, and the third floor is modern development.
The exhibition area is well planned, so you won't feel bored and can learn something. As a tourist from another city, I can understand it at a glance.
Third stop: Zhoushan Urban Exhibition Hall
Free of charge, parking is the same as the museum. The exhibition hall has two floors. The first floor is modern development, and the second floor is a display of local chronicles. There is an interactive area, which is suitable for visiting with children, so that children can also learn about the urban development of Zhoushan.
We wanted to go to Dinghai Old Town, but the rain was too heavy, so we had to give up. On the way back to Shanghai, we also wanted to check in at Hangzhou Bay National Wetland Park, but the dark clouds followed us wherever we went. Forget it, let's come back next time.
