Zhongshan Road in Xiamen is an unmissable treasure spot and a haven for delicious food
🌊 The romance of Xiamen is not limited to the sea, but also includes the endless delicacies and romantic blues moments on Zhongshan Road. You should definitely visit Xiamen, stroll down Zhongshan Road, explore Gulangyu Island, and rush to witness a sunrise at five in the morning, where the seaside is forever romantic.
📕 If you're talking about the best street to visit in Xiamen, it has to be Zhongshan Road, especially in the evening. The architecture here will make you feel like you're abroad, yet it still retains the domestic atmosphere of life, with endless food and unique snacks to explore.
🍔 Food recommendations: Five-spice, satay noodles, bamboo shoot jelly, peanut soup, egg burgers. My personal favorite is the egg burger, it's really delicious!
【Lao Si Xi Egg Burger】
📍 No. 20, Shanzai Ding Alley, Siming West Road
Average cost: around 9💰
Hours: 14:00-23:00
(The place is so popular that I had to queue for half an hour to get my food)
📷 Treasure photo spot: From the balcony on the fourth floor of Tiger City, you can overlook the street view (great for photos both day and night)

A Trip to Xiamen’s Centre!
Location: Zhongshan Pedestrian Street
City: Xiamen, Fujian
Xiamen has beautiful beaches and beautiful islands.
There is a beautiful pedestrianised only street called Zhongshan Street in the middle of the main island. You can see the iconic white Qi Lou buildings and nice palm trees.
This is a wonderful place to buy local snacks and eat yummy dinner. You can spend a good afternoon here to relax and shop!

The Zhongshan pedestrian road in Xiamen 👍☺️
#timetotravel
One of the most underrated tourist destinations in Xiamen is the Zhongshan road where you can experience old Fujian! there are restaurants and shops as far as the eye can see! 👀☺️
I had authentic local food and filled my belly up with milk tea. Afterwards I enjoyed a curry 🍛 before eating famous tofu for dessert! I highly recommend a visit and guarantee you will not be disappointed!

It's a really Zhong walking street
A really long walking street with shops that seem to repeat every hundred meters. One of the great attractions, however, is that mopeds and cycles are prohibited (from riding at least) meaning your free to stroll at leisure free from fear of colliding with food delivery drivers and cyclists.
There are numerous food vendors along the street offering all manor of delights and a hint of old Xiamen can be seen in the buildings that line the road, from the upper floors atleast.
It's a nice street to walk, particularly at night. For a more authentic Xiamen experience venture off the different roads and narrow lanes that feed into Zhongshan Road.

Cloudy with with chance of fun ✨️
#xiamen was an impromptu trip I took during the #yearofrabbit CNY weekend. It definitely didn't go as planned as the weather was very cloudy and rainy but I still made the best of it. A lot of recommendations were closed during the holiday weekend but I still enjoyed my time visiting the places I did. I highly recommend #zhongshan Pedestrian Street, it's great for strolling and finding some great streetfood and cool stores. Also, I recommend the Helium Air Balloon ride on Xiada Baicheng beach. Overall a good trip!

Delicious food at Commune in Xiamen
After a long day exploring Xiamen, what's best than ending the night with some delicious pizza and drinks? Then you should head over Commune! 🍕🍻
The food offering covers several finger food appetizers like chicken wings and fries, pasta dishes and pizza (I recommend the truffle and Parma ham one!)
Drinks are also well done and reasonably priced (around 35/40 rmb)
Commune Restaurant is practically located close to Zhongshan Pedestrian Street, along the seaside promenade close to the Gulangyu ferry terminal. You can even see Gulangyu island off the coast!

Xiamen 2-Day Value Tour, take advantage of this weekend to easily get all the wonderful experiences!
🌴This summer, you have to visit the seaside at least once. Having been to Xiamen 3 times, I have summarized this comprehensive Xiamen city walk guide for everyone. Please join me in appreciating the beautiful scenery of Xiamen, 💖 and experience the natural landscape and cultural atmosphere here. Next, let's step into this charming city together! 🌸
🎉A meticulously arranged 2-day and 1-night itinerary for you:
🌅Day1: Gulangyu Island → Zhongshan Road → Shapowei → Baicheng Beach
Upon arriving in Xiamen, you can immediately feel the warmth and vitality of the city. The architecture, cuisine, beaches, and music here will definitely help you relax completely!
🏰In the morning, we head to Xiamen's most famous island—Gulangyu Island.
From 'XiaGu Wharf' take a ferry to 'Sanqiu Wharf', with a round-trip ticket costing ¥35. After landing on the island, I chose to take a sightseeing bus for 50 yuan. There are many attractions near the transfer station: Shuzhuang Garden, Sunlight Rock, Gangzaihou Beach are all here. Of course, you can also choose to walk, strolling around the whole island with 7000 steps!
🍜Then we go to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street to taste the food, where all kinds of authentic Minnan snacks are waiting for you to try! In addition to food, there are also artistic craft shops, cafes, and bookstores here. Sit in a store for an afternoon and experience the slow life of Xiamen.
🌊In the afternoon, we head to the beautiful beach. Standing on the beach by the sea, feeling the breeze, and listening to the singing of the waves, it's as if you have merged into the embrace of the sea.
🏢Day2: Xiamen University → Nanputuo Temple → Wuyuanwan Sailing → Qingshui Palace → Jimei School Village → Ten-mile Long Embankment
As one of China's most beautiful campuses, 'Xiamen University' is a spot you can't miss. Afterwards, head to 'Nanputuo Temple', where standing at the high point of the temple, you can overlook the entire beauty of Xiamen. 'Ten-mile Long Embankment' has bands performing, and under the sunset, the atmosphere is absolutely perfect! Here, you can definitely forget about the tedious work and relax properly.
🍢Specialty food recommendations:
🍲For friends who like food, you must visit Xiamen's Eighth Agricultural Market, commonly known as 'Ba Shi'. Here, you can taste many local snacks: Satay noodles, oyster omelette, four-fruit soup, Tusan Dong, ginger duck... each one is a unique taste of Xiamen, it is recommended to try more and taste the freshness, there will definitely be unforgettable flavors.
🍜How can you not try the local seafood when you come to Xiamen? Here I recommend a few authentic old shops for everyone. 'Lao Su's Small Stall' is said to be the top 1 in the hearts of locals, a family-style seafood stir-fry, order based on ingredients, and the boss will suggest cooking methods, delicious and not expensive, you must try it. 'Haoshi Lai Big Stall' has been an old shop in the community for 30 years, oyster rice is their signature dish, a must-order. Because it's quite crowded, you need to queue up, so it's recommended to come early.
💡Travel tips:
🍲When buying seafood, please pay attention to the merchant's weighing to avoid being switched.
👡Prepare a pair of slippers for the beach to fully enjoy playing in the water and stepping on the sand!
💥The sun is strong by the sea, it's best to have sunglasses ready, and also pay attention to sun protection.
💕Xiamen, a city worth your heartfelt experience and discovery. 🌺
🌟Come on, this weekend, let's step into Xiamen together, feel the infinite charm of this city, and create our own beautiful summer memories! 🌹

Xiamen Zhongshan Road! The hotel I always stay at every time I come!
The hotel is in the city center, very easy to find! I'm really moved to tears that I could book a hotel in such a great location at this price!
I recommend staying here for those who are coming to Xiamen for a five-day break!!
The location is very easy to find, the hotel is in Siming District,
just a two-minute walk from Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, and the surrounding area is great for shopping!!
Ba Shi Seafood Market, Zhonghua City, and Zhongshan Park are all nearby, and you can take the bus or subway right outside the door.
The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the service is especially good! The hotel check-in and check-out process is very convenient, no dragging feet!!! After checking in, I added WeChat,
and any request can be responded to immediately.
Housekeeping cleans every day, even changing the toilet seat covers. When going out, you can store your luggage at the hotel, which I highly recommend.

From traditional Chinese architecture to modern skyscrapers, Zhongshan Road offers a fascinating glimpse into the city's past and present.
Exploring the shops, markets, and boutiques lining the street provides endless opportunities for souvenir hunting and indulging in local delicacies. Whether you're sampling street food favorites like oyster omelets and stinky tofu or browsing for unique gifts and trinkets, there's something to delight every member of the family.

As for the next ideal travel destination with family, I'd recommend Seoul, South Korea. With its mix of modernity and tradition, the city offers a diverse array of attractions, from historic palaces and temples to cutting-edge shopping districts and amusement parks. Exploring neighborhoods like Insadong and Myeongdong provides a blend of cultural experiences, culinary delights, and family-friendly activities that are sure to create lasting memories for everyone.

Puhe Hotel
After arriving at the high-speed rail station, take the subway directly to Zhenhai Road Subway Station, and then it's just a 5-minute walk to the hotel. After booking, the receptionist will also send a check-in guide map. It's very clear and guides us step by step to the hotel. The hotel rooms are very spacious, and the beds are very soft. Right below the hotel is the Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, within walking distance to Subway Line 1, making travel super convenient! It's also particularly close to the seaside; just a few minutes by taxi to the beach, and you can even see Gulangyu

Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street in Xiamen: A Bustling Journey Through Time
🌞The first rays of the morning sun sprinkle on Zhongshan Road in Xiamen, and this century-old pedestrian street quietly awakens. As a travel blog writer, today I will take you all on an in-depth exploration of this story-filled and charming old street.
🏰Stepping onto Zhongshan Road is like traveling back to the prosperous Nanyang era. The buildings on both sides boast unique architectural styles, featuring both the red-brick ancient houses of Southern Fujian and the Western-style arcade buildings. The sunlight filters through the gaps of the arcades, mottling the bluestone slabs, and every step is taken on the imprints of history.
🍜Speaking of Zhongshan Road, how can we not mention the mouthwatering delicacies? From traditional satay noodles and roast meat rice dumplings to authentic bamboo shoot jelly and peanut soup, each bite is an ultimate tease for the taste buds. The street food stalls along the road are even more irresistible, with each one having its unique flavor and story.
🛍️Besides the food, the shopping experience on Zhongshan Road is also top-notch. There are various traditional handicraft shops, with exquisite ceramics, embroidery, and wood carvings dazzling the eyes. Modern brand stores and trendy boutiques are also scattered around, catering to the shopping needs of different groups of people.
🌃As night falls, the nightscape of Zhongshan Road becomes even more breathtaking. Neon lights flicker, reflecting off the ancient buildings, creating a unique atmosphere. Walking in the night, it feels as if one can hear the whispers of history and feel the pulse of the city.
🎈Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street is not just a shopping street, but also a historical corridor brimming with stories and culture. Every visit here allows you to experience different styles and charms. If you come to Xiamen, don't miss out on this enchanting old street!

Strolling through the old town area of Xiamen||The long-missed familiarity always evokes a poignant nostalgia
The long-missed familiarity always evokes a poignant nostalgia.
I find myself wandering aimlessly through the old town area from time to time, with familiar streets filled with memories.
Zhongshan Road, Xiaxi Road, Siming East Road, Xinhua Road, Siming North Road, Kaiyuan Road, Dayuan Road, Datong Road, Siming West Road, Siming South Road, Zhenhai Road, and countless other small streets and alleys that I can't remember or have never paid attention to, weave through and connect.
This is a labyrinth of memories, with clear or vague impressions, comparing the present scenes with the past, looking for differences or similarities.
The city changes day by day, the neighborhoods constantly renew, and memories evolve accordingly. Sometimes, the more I try to remember something, the more it blurs.
Rivers deposit silt, and time also presses pause secretly in some corners, these scattered fragments prevent the past from being easily erased.

Zhongshan Road in Xiamen!! Who understands the value of this taste!!
Hi, all you foodie friends! Today, I want to shout out loud to you that the delicacies of Zhongshan Road in Xiamen are simply a treasure trove! Who understands the value of this taste? I, a seasoned food blogger, certainly do! And, I've also had the pleasure of indulging in the longed-for Nanyang seafood here, which was simply too blissful!
Zhongshan Road, this street brimming with historical charm, is not only a bustling commercial street in Xiamen but also a paradise for food. From the beginning to the end of the street, there is a dazzling array of snacks and restaurants, each bite an ultimate temptation for the taste buds. And what I want to highly recommend today is the Nanyang seafood here.
I remember that day, as I was strolling down Zhongshan Road, suddenly a tempting aroma of seafood hit my nose. Following the scent, I found an unassuming little shop, with a variety of fresh seafood displayed at the entrance. On a whim, I decided to go in and try some.
Unexpectedly, this taste made me completely fall in love with the Nanyang seafood here. The tender fish, succulent shrimp, and smooth shellfish, each bite was a taste of the ocean, endlessly memorable. Moreover, the seafood here is made to order, ensuring the freshness and flavor of the ingredients.
Apart from seafood, there are many other delicacies on Zhongshan Road worth trying. Such as the fragrant barbecue, the unique taste of Minnan snacks, and those time-honored restaurants hidden deep in the alleys, all are places of delicious food that make people linger.
So, if you come to Xiamen, don't miss out on Zhongshan Road, this street of delicacies. Whether it's to savor the freshness of Nanyang seafood or to explore those hidden street snacks, your taste buds will be treated to the ultimate enjoyment.
Lastly, I want to tell the whole world loudly, the food of Zhongshan Road in Xiamen is definitely worth a try! Come and join me in exploring the value of this taste!

Xiamen Adventure Plan | Stop Seven: Zhongshan Road!
I moved to Zhenhai Road for elementary school and grew up near Zhongshan Road until I graduated from junior high. I'm very familiar with the nearby alleys. Shizi Street, Sixian Street, Shibei Street, Benbu Alley, Caopu Alley, Waiqing Alley, twisting and turning yet interconnected, a maze-like layout of alleys that always leads back to the starting point.
The alleys house many famous people's former residences, with narrow stone walls and quaint stone paths silently telling stories of the past. Wang Renji's former residence, Ouyang Zhen's former residence, Chen Huacheng's former residence, and many more are located behind these alleys. Some have nearly a century of history, some have stone steles in front of their doors, and some just have simple signs. These former residences of famous people have been listed as historical and cultural relics, quietly witnessing generations grow up. There are also many temples and Buddha statues hidden in the alleys. Passing by the Yanshou Temple in Benbu Alley, one can still smell the scent of incense, and the Sixian Stone Statues on Sixian Street are also very popular.
Most of the houses in the alleys are old private residences of Xiamen, some with simple cement stone walls, but there are also a few small villas with full Minnan architectural style. Red tile lofts are adorned with plants and flowers, and clothes drying in the sun give off a warm and homey feeling. Because not many outsiders come in, each alley is very quiet. The cats on the ground don't get startled by passersby, and people and animals coexist leisurely in the afternoon sun. Catching a glimpse of a corner of a small courtyard or windowsill, the simple yet romantic lifestyle reveals the plain but beautiful life of the people.
During elementary school, we didn't have mobile phones for navigation, but everyone knew how to sneak from the alleys to Zhongshan Road pedestrian street, and how to take shortcuts to the immigration office. Now, Qunhui Elementary School has been renovated beyond recognition, no longer looking like what we remember. Both small playgrounds have been demolished, and the gate and the exterior of the school are more splendid. But what is touching is that the small shop and stationery store at the entrance have remained the same for over a decade.
The Spring Festival is underway, and the nearby alleys are full of festive atmosphere. Compared to the high-rise residential areas, almost every household in the alleys has put up new Spring Festival couplets. Most people choose red hand-written brush couplets, with bold black characters adding a touch of authority to the small entrances. Although from the outside, the houses in the alleys mostly feel dated, with rusty iron doors and broken wooden doors, people still have a passion for life and a longing for the New Year. Seeing the new couplets and the word 'Fu' (fortune), one can tell at a glance that there are still people living in these houses, and they are full of vitality.
If the hustle and bustle is the stereotype that Zhongshan Road leaves people with, then the old street area is like a brief pause in the system. Just turn a street corner, and you can see another side of Xiamen, this urban jungle. Only by exploring behind them can one truly appreciate the charm and the lively atmosphere of old Xiamen.

Walking through the streets and alleys of Xiamen, you can't miss the satay noodle shops that are everywhere. The rich satay sauce combined with a variety of seafood and meats makes every bite a blissful experience!

A name that sounds a bit strange, Tusan Freeze is actually sandworm jelly. It has a chewy texture and is refreshing, making it the perfect summer snack to satisfy cravings!

Speaking of duck porridge, the Datong family on Gulangyu Island is definitely a gem in Xiamen. The duck meat is tender and juicy, and the porridge is rich and flavorful, making it irresistible!
🍧 Fifth stop: Four Fruit Soup
A bowl of Four Fruit Soup in summer is the ultimate choice for cooling down. A variety of fruits mixed with shaved ice, it's sweet but not cloying, and refreshingly delicious!
🍡 Sixth stop: Mochi

🐟 Seventh stop: Pufferfish Street
If you're trying pufferfish for the first time, you definitely can't miss Xiamen's Pufferfish Street. The unique experience of 'one fish, eight ways' lets you savor the freshness and uniqueness of pufferfish.
🍜 Eighth stop: Mianxian Hu
In the thick soup, you'll find Mianxian Hu, which resembles thin noodles. The texture is somewhat like spicy and sour soup, but it's not spicy; instead, it has a unique umami flavor.
🥘 Ninth stop: Sheng Tang
In Xiamen, Sheng Tang is also a very popular snack. You can choose from a variety of vegetables, and the light flavor is both healthy and satisfying.
🥩 Tenth stop: Egg Manjuan
Egg Manjuan is a very distinctive dish, where meat filling is injected into raw eggs and then cooked. This unique cooking method arouses curiosity and anticipation for this delicacy.
🍹 Eleventh stop: Sugarcane Juice

Best Night Pedestrian Street in Xiamen
So happy that I visited Xiamen a few weeks ago, and it was such a great experience! My friends brought me to Zhongshan Road, which is a popular pedestrian shopping street in Xiamen. The vibe was chill and full of happiness. It's good for relaxing, window-shopping, and having some good foods with your loved ones.
It's located only 23-25 minutes driving from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. It's also close to the Ferry Terminal if you want to/coming back from Gulangyu Island.

Gulangyu Clean sandy beaches Zengcuo'an Xiamen University Shapowei Jimei School Village Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street
It takes about six hours to arrive at Xiamen Station from Changsha. It's a ten-minute walk to the hotel, close to the subway entrance. Since the subway lines in Xiamen are not very comprehensive, we mostly took taxis. On the first day, we spent 35 yuan on a ferry to Gulangyu, a good place for taking photos and sightseeing. The food on the island is decent, and we relied on walking. We didn't finish touring the island and then went to the beach. In the evening, we went to Zengcuo'an for delicious food and bought some local specialties. On the second day, we visited Xiamen University and took a sailboat to the clean sandy beaches. On the third day, we went to Shapowei and Jimei School Village. Inside Jimei University, there are small electric cars for rent. If you don't want to walk, you can rent one for twenty yuan per hour. On the fourth day, we took the high-speed train back to Changsha.
Impressions: The drivers are very enthusiastic, the overall quality of the citizens is good, the greening is very nice, the housing prices are really quite high, the oysters are really delicious, and I will come again next time.

Xiamen 3-day 2-night travel guide suggestions to bookmark
Sharing my tips for a 3-day 2-night trip to Xiamen, for friends who are thinking of going there soon🌟
✈️Travel - Cost 1600💰(round trip)
◾️I left from Chengdu at the end of June, and the round-trip airfare was reasonable, but it might be a bit more expensive now due to the summer holidays
🏨Accommodation - Cost 1500💰(two nights)
◾️I stayed at the Ruiyi Hotel, which is close to Gulangyu Island. I chose a sea-view room, and the scenery was indeed nice with good value for money. The hotel was very popular, the only downside was that check-in was only available after 3 pm, so I had to wait half a day at the hotel, and to get takeout, I had to go to the parking lot at the back
🍽️Dining - Cost 1750💰(three days)
◾️Tianjie Fu Seafood Stall - 300💰: A must-visit restaurant, the place is small but the taste is really good, the seafood is fresh, and it's good value for money. I recommend the seafood roll and oyster pancake
◾️Zuiyi No.1 Seafood Stall - 750💰: Another must-visit restaurant, it seems to be more popular than Tianjie Fu, with a richer menu. Every dish is good, I recommend the lemon crab and ginger duck, but the spicy frog is just so-so
◾️Tangyan · Old Xiamen Private Kitchen - 350💰: A must-visit restaurant, featured in 'The Taste', many celebrities have dined here. I really recommend their yellow croaker with vermicelli, even as someone who doesn't like fish, I found it delicious. The soup is very fresh, and the crispy taro duck is also good (Zhao Lusi loves it too)
◾️Lychee Couple · Seafood Private Kitchen - 350💰: This one leans more towards private kitchen style, with a variety of dishes and stronger flavors. The cold fish belly is very tasty, and the pork bone tea is also good. Honestly, the number one ranked golden soup seafood stew was just average
🏝️Attractions - Cost 190💰(Gulangyu ferry ticket + attractions)
◾️Shapowei: A trendy spot for taking photos, with many stalls selling trinkets. There are some popular photo spots so it's quite crowded. Taking the elevator, you can take pictures at the Shapowei rainbow wall (you must muster the courage to take photos, as everyone below is watching you)
◾️Gulangyu: Buy ferry tickets in advance on 'Yu Jian Xiamen'. I bought a luxury boat VIP cabin, which was really comfortable on the way there, with no need to queue for security checks and direct access to the lounge with staff reception. The VIP cabin is comfortable, but the return trip was on a regular boat. To be honest, Xiamen is too hot, and it's really hard to walk around the island. I ended up paying 50 for a sightseeing car
◾️Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street: It's like many cities' snack and shopping streets, nice to stroll around, but the food is just so-so
✅Conclusion
Overall, Xiamen is a very suitable city for travel. If it doesn't rain, the scenery is really beautiful, the sky is very blue, but it's a bit hot recently. The locals are also very warm and hospitable. Chatting with many locals, everyone seems very nice. The food tastes are acceptable, and I will definitely go again if I have the chance, to visit other attractions that I didn't get to check out

Ticket Price: 30 yuan (half price for students, the elderly, children, and military personnel)
Business Hours: 6:30-17:30
📍Ten-Mile Long Embankment: Watch the spectacular cross-sea bridge by the sea, a good place for walking with children and also suitable for couples to take pictures

V The location is too superior
It's only 250 meters away from Zhongshan Road! It's not far from Gulangyu. It's only a five-minute walk from the subway entrance. There's everything on Zhongshan Road pedestrian street downstairs!
V The homestay with a slide is very suitable for family travel
Children can slide down the slide~~ Adults can be free
There are rooms for 2-6 people! It's very comfortable to stay here with a family in Xiamen. The host also gave small cakes, really touched by the heart
